  1. All good. OH and puppy are fine, except for the metaphorical bootprint up their bums. Sammy seems to have chewed (scraped out with his teeth, rather than licked) over 100g of putty and a fair whack of splinters. Wood seems to be his favourite food so he should be ok. He's probably done more damage with the old lead paint he chewed the other day  OH is in charge of poo patrol tomorrow :)
  2. My OH has worked he must have eaten it much earlier today and has since been for a long walk quite happily. The vet said it's too late to do much except keep an eye on him and watch his poo. OH is in the doghouse, not silly Sammy. I said you can't leave him unsupervised
  3. My 5mo Lab boy has licked out fresh-ish putty from around newly placed glass window panes in an old wooden door (and chewed part of the wooden door of course). Any thoughts on whether we should try to make him spew or poo? OH is trying to get on to a vet right now and I'm on my way home.
  4. Hoping Nyx can stay around long enough to have a photo with my big black Stevie
  5. It's okay... it's not your fault. Sags BLARGH Sags you cow, now the earworm effect is worse than ever! Thanks so much
  6. Shouldn't have read this. Now I've got the Friends 'Smelly Cat' son in my head!
  7. Names for the boxer mob: Cassia, Josephine, Georgina, michaela and Clay. Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty and Bennett (or Darcy). Meg, Jo, Amy, Beth and Lawrie. :D
  8. Hey T I've got some newspapers here, I'll leave them on the front step so you can get them anytime. Is there such a thing as a long hair ACD? Bonnie and Clyde have long white silk overlying the shorter fluff. It's beautiful! I'd love to know how that turns out when they grow up.
  9. Great reporting team! I think any breeder that registers Harry Highpants for a puppy name should be disqualified for cruelty! Too cute!
  10. The only food Stevie has ever refused (and Jodie wouldn't even look at) was whole raw fish. Tinned only here - though the deboned remains of our baked flathead on Friday were acceptable. They didn't get much though. Must look out for salmon heads and try them, maybe they'll be less slippery in the bowl.
  11. yep, that's my uncle - my cousin would modify it to help with stock monitoring for himself, being a modern country lad!
  12. Greg thinks Boxer too, crossed with something small and pointy-nosed. Ive never felt fur like Bonnie and Clyde - they'd make lovely slippers Just so plush and silky. You might get a burgler tomorrow ;)
  13. Bonnie and Clyde feel like kittens or bunnies, not pups Percy is perfectly named. He looks like he's wearing a dinner suit, very formal Percival! He and Pluto are very Pei in their prancing and love a snuggle :) Spoilt for puppies in this street - hope they stick around long enough to play with mine!
  14. Bonnie and Clyde are so soft and silky and speckledy and silvery and Bonnie's a bit cheeky and wow I'm not a puppy person but they made me squeak!
  15. I did it by phone and email, when I insisted on extra information being added to Stevie and Jodie's details. Canterbury Council seemed quite happy to work that way.
  16. Tracey you'd be BRILLIANT at that job and I reckon you could organise an end of year concert The only place I know is near Sydney Park.
  17. I vote DOLers be allowed to use them, but nobody else. I won't because I get tangled in normal leads let alone a long long thin one
  18. We were Revolution people for over five years and didn't have a problem, but at the start of last year our ancient SWF seemed to always have a flea on him. So vet recommended Comfortis one fortnight, Revolution a fortnight later (to keep the heartworm up to date as well). That worked reasonably well but not perfect so we swapped the Revolution for Advocate. Now (since SWF passed away, and haven't seen fleas since) we've dropped the Comfortis and just use Advocate monthly.
  19. Woofnhoof that's so funny, you just have to laugh! Shiva zooms!
  20. Contact the site and let them know. Quite a few of the scammers end up not paying the cost to advertise, too. When Powerlegs and I ganged up on some Yorkie 'people', the newspaper it was in was very keen to know about it when I rang to tell them they were being used to advertise a scam.
  21. I'm going to be twee and say a dog is forever, girlfriends aren't always :D so get the dog for you. Dogs usually do work things out. If you get a puppy boy, you might find the Lab girl adjusts quite well. They'll always need some supervision for the first few months anyway. I'm a bit concerned for your gf's Lab though. My Lab is usually the one who plays too rough!
  22. Is your dog ok with other dogs and a cat?
  23. Katdog the biggest applause goes to you.... my website is moderated by a SPECIAL FRIEND OF MINE WHO I LOVE DEARLY, i will not change the way he writes my post. Im sorry that it hurts your head i really am, you Speak of professionalism??? Is this what profesiionalism looks like attacking people behind a forum??? You and the others have it all wrong. you don't know what i do nor do i expect you to understand, but if you are interested please call me i'll chatt with ya! 0405454551 CBE I apologise for the way I expressed my frustration with your website. Language, grammar and punctuation are my great interest (apart from my family and dogs) and I perhaps put too much value on correct use rather than the passion of a writer. I think you'll find, though, that my other posts have been reasonably fair. I started this thread because your company's name was new to me and I was interested to find out more about you, but couldn't find you using my basic web searches. I hope you have a great open day and that you stick around DOL to discover why some of us are so careful (and passionate) about ethical rescue.
