  1. it is defiently well worth the $24 it cost me... you do not need to purchase earlier work... her articles on weaving that were written for clean run are included in the ebook... together with the dvd should be most valuable... and i would suggest that you put susans other dvds/books on a wish list for future purchase... they are great also... it is a great way to teach weave poles... only thing i suggest you do is to start doing some shaping games with your dog.. a dog that has some foundation in shaping will pick the 2x2 method up really well...
  2. um was sorta broke now an completly broke... exchange rate might be crap but free shipping certainly makes up for it... my shopping list was Cool Kong Dog Toys: 1 Options: Medium: $6.95 Item Total: $6.95 Squeakin' Bees 3-Pack: 1 Item Total: $6.45 Pilates for Pooches DVD: 1 Item Total: $38.45 FitBALL Balance Disc, 14 in.: 1 Item Total: $21.95 Get on the Ball DVD: 1 Item Total: $28.45 Really Reliable Recall DVD: 1 Item Total: $28.45 total of $130us.. probably around $180 Aus after my youngest dog suffered an injury(being an Idiot) i have been trying to build his fitness and muscles up, so was the perfect opportunity to purchase some dvd.s.. next i want to purchase a cheap pool so i can start swimming him... especially over the summer...
  3. the ebook from what i have been told... is extra info that Susan wanted to share... it will not be offered again once the dvd is out.. it is not stand alone material for teaching the 2x2... the dvd i would imagine would have far more info for us than the ebook, the only thing that is doubled up is the workbook... it is such an easy and fun way to teach the weave poles...
  4. well i have trained 2 dogs with the 2x2 method... and the ebook, filled in some gaps as well as some more ideas... my last dog was doing 12 poles in 8 days... in short... the 2x2 method is teaching dogs to do 2 poles and then adding 2 poles.... but they are done with a channel and then this is closed up to form 4 straight , then you keep adding 2 poles...as well as some awesome weave entry stuff... my youngest dog is 15mths old i will be starting his weave training next month... after i watch the DVD
  5. well got my ebook last night.. it has some very useful info... havn't had a proper chance to read it all, want to print it out... need some printer ink... can't wait for the dvd... and yes the problems should be fixed to purchase it...

  7. i would have to agree with Vickie... we all need instruction... i wish i could get to classes more often... a 1 hr 40 min drive weeknights gets a bit much especially when i start work at 6am... it is always good having someone watching that can pick up on things you need to do... and the trainers at ADCQ are some of the best around..
  8. hey guys while where on the herding subject... just wondering where the best place is to find out where herding trials are held... i am from Gympie in QLD and never seem to hear of any ANKC trials... i would like to enter my guys in a few next year... so any info is good info.. Cheers
  9. i am also looking into buying my dogs a pool for conditioning... it is a great idea, and is much better than dams or beaches as the dogs are out of their depth and it is very physical for them... after speaking to a few canine fitness people, the deeper water wears them out very quickly to start of with... i have a Dam on the property where i am , but the dogs prefer to Kamikaze jump off the banks after the ball... i have one dog who will go in and stay in till we are finshed and her muscle tone and fitness is much better than the other guys... i am looking to purchase a 1m deep pool... will use chlorine, have not had any effects on my dogs coat after swimming them elsewhere with chlorine and have friends who swim their dogs through the summer in the pool with no problems...
  10. why not shape your dog to do the box... if there is enough value in the box then the distance part becomes easy... as long as you do not go for distance before there is lots of value in the box.... Toys could be used.. but initially i would use food... when there is value in the box you could play a tug in position game where your dog has to stay in position whilst tugging(even in a drop)dog musn't move untill released... you could play the send to the box...release then tug game... hope this gives you something to work on.. others may do it differently
  11. hey thats great who else is going this year.. should be great a new venue... on the coast as well.. hopefully it won't be as cold as Uralla used to get... not long to go now and i am sure that the time will fly...
  12. hey if BMX, badminton, table tennis,& water polo are there so should Dog Agility... its a wonder Chess isn't an Olympic Sport... I know that getting Dog agility as an Olympic Sport is being persued by the IFIC
  13. would be nice wouldn't it... Olympics would defiently be worth watching then thats for sure... i think they are working on the WAC in 2010 as well...
  14. yep Adaa do follow the international rules and standards, they also recently had 2 competitors compete at the WAC in Belgium with borrowed dogs, and i do know they are trying to get allowances for an Aust team with our own dogs to compete in the future... anybody in Aust can become a member of ADAA and compete in comps, you do not have to be a member of an ADAA club to be eligible... this would also allow you to attend the camps that are held in NSW and QLD each year... I think we had someone from SA compete at our Grand Prix last year....
  15. only 2 black/whites + 1 choc/white + 1 choc merle... + 1 black/white rescue
  16. i can sympathize about the limping, have a badly sprained ankle at the moment, so my poor dogs are not getting too much training done... on the up side it is saving me money not being able to go to training... i only ususally come on a tuesday night if i am instructing.. which i am booked down to do again in a couple weeks... i will be the one that turns up with the ute full of border collies ... i seem to always have extra rescue dogs with me lately so my ute has been dubbed the pound ute... although i am really trying to see how many Borders you can fit on one little old hilux...
  17. check out the thread in the dog sports section on fav training book... has dvd reccomendations as well... or the topic in the general section of books/ dvd's available to be borrowed from fellow DOLers
  18. solution as i see it would be walk Chopper and Ivan then Chopper and Trixie and then Chopper and Angel... all are happy especially chopper... might wear him out a little more as well just means your walk would be 1 1/2 hr instead of an hour...
  19. hey thats great you should really enjoy it.. i get down there now and then ... live in Gympie so is getting harder with fuel prices the way they are... also instruct on occasions as well...
  20. if you are interested in agility than the Suncoast Fun Dogs trains at the caboolture show grounds tuesday night... positive training methods with great success, holds Pre Ag 1 & 2 which are a 4 week course then once promoted and dogs are over 12 months they can enter the beginner 8 weeks and then starter courses - 4 weeks , from there they have Intermediate and Advanced Classes...
