Any Feedback On This Boarding Kennel
bordacollies4me replied to Dog_Horse_Girl's topic in General Dog Discussion
just as Agility Dogs said.. i too know the people who run it and most of those who work there... would recommend them to anyone... and know too well how busy they are, especially on school holidays, and the lead up too the school holidays, and also the week after on most cases... and maybe it wasn't the visit lillysmum had but more the posting of it on a public dog forum , that got the website changed... i for one wouldn't hold it against any business for not keeping their website totally up to date... these people bend over backwards to look after other peoples pets with the utmost care... and yes we all have bad days, i for one would always ring ahead to ask about inspection times of any facility... and don't think there is anypoint getting offended if i hadn't, but just turned up expecting to be able to inspect the facilities, regardless of what was on the website... -
thanks Partipaws.. best of luck with your girl too... well here is the expectant mother with 9 days to go... pics do not do justice to just how big she is...

Hey Jess yes these things do happen, although it is not a nice experience... her last litter was 18mths ago... temps were up around 40+, i ended up buying an aircon when they were a week old so they would settle... thinking i will be buying another heater soon if it gets any colder... and yes i am hoping a winter litter will be much nicer for mum & bubs... because who doesn't like to get all cosy and warm on a cool day... fingers crossed for a nice parti girl for you this time round...

Oh my what a rainbow litter - they all look beautiful!! almost like two sets of twins!!! love the colours and markings!! how many pups did she have last litter - or just the 4 that are pictured! I know what you mean - my girl is pretty close to yours with due dates and she was showing a belly around 2 weeks ago - she was scanned last monday although I was pretty convinced she was preg - but as I had her in for a health check etc we got the vet to confirm anyway and checked that everything was progressing well! Her belly is growing so fast - poor girl! Thank you for sharing those beautiful pictures - I can not wait to see what you get this time round, all the very best from now onwards thanks Jess, they were a very balanced 4 last litter... there were 9 all up but sadly 5 didn't make it, she whelped 5-6 days early due to extreme heat i would say, 4 were very small and the other she accidentally squished in bedding... but the magnificent 4 were just great... looking forward to my first winter litter, hopefully she will feel much better than in the stinking hot summers we get, i think she is coping much better already than she did in the heat, still wants to get out and train Agility, silly girl i am having a hard time convincing her she needs to start taking it easy... i was the same very convinced by just over 3 weeks that she was pregs but a health check and ultrasound to confirm and make sure everything was A OK... All the best for your girl too, will be nice to see what you get from your girl as well... Congrats Silverblue looking forward to seeing your babies as well, always wanted a black cocker growing up... maybe one day...

thanks Jess we are very excited, will have to take some belly shots around week 7, although she is starting to look rather big at week 5... this is a repeat mating here is a pic from the last litter

all mine get performa 3 - a horse product which has omega 3,6 & 9 plus added garlic, my dogs have been on it for the past 5 yrs... a friend of mine actually contacted the company to enquire about the use with dogs.. and although it is not marketed as such they did provide a dosage rate of 1ml per 7kg, so it is lasting me a hell of a long time... here is some info taken off the website ( http://www.mitavite.com.au/mitavite06/PERF...roduct-main.asp )which i found useful about omega oils... THE IMPORTANCE OF BALANCE Omega 6 oils create hormones which have strong inflammatory actions. These hormones constrict blood flow, cause white blood cells to clump together and are between 100 and 1,000 times stronger at causing inflammation than hormones made with Omega 3. Inflammatory responses can readily occur when the Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio is out of balance. Laminitis, arthritis and dermatitis are inflammatory diseases and treatment is generally based on anti-inflammatory drugs to counter the effects of inflammatory hormones. Omega 3 oils reduce and control the actions of Omega 6. Omega 9 oils dilute the amount of Omega 6, thereby containing the damaging effects of excessive inflammatory responses and restoring the ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6. Omega 3 oils provide hormones which reduce constriction and blockages of blood vessels during inflammation and reduce the over production and excessive inflammatory response which can occur if high levels of Omega 6 are in the diet. Omega 3 oils modify and balance the action of Omega 6 oils. Omega 3 oils have a major role in the formation of cell walls. Making them supple and flexible. Diets with the correct balance of Omega 3 improve circulation through increased red cell flexibility. This suppleness and flexibilty is critical, particularly during exercise when heart rate can increase to 240 beats per minute, blood thickens and the packed cell volume increases. The vessels that carry blood through the lungs and muscles are tiny and narrow. Oxygen transfer in the lungs and the muscles takes place in blood vessels that are only one red blood cell wide. The red blood cells pass through one at a time to unload their oxygen and pick up lactic acid and other waste products. When the red blood cell walls are supple and flexible, they pass easily through the tiny, narrow blood vessels in the lungs and muscles, improving blood supply and oxygen delivery and reducing chances of red blood cell sludging and blockages.

I can join in the July litter... Border Collie babies due 6th of July... from my Choc girl Coco... ultrasound at 4 1/2 weeks confirmed, not certain but we counted 8...

one would think that if he had muscle wastage they would have referred you to a physio, how is the muscle supposed to build back up without the proper exercise, to build it back up... a physio could give you specific things to do to help build the muscle in the area that needs it.... a top physio that i have heard of is Toni Lynch is in Maleny but have no contact details unfortunately As for tin food - no way it can be good for your dog... a good quality premium dry food and raw is always best IMO... there are some homeopathic remedies that can be used to help repair and heal muscle, visit www.healwithease.com have a chat with these guys and am sure they can help you out, i use these remedies regularly with all my dogs with great results...
