Same here and I'm a heretic so not aligned with any religion...maybe I hate dogs???
-
I have a pug who blows coat at this time of year - just means I have to sweep or vacuum every day. I'm also prone to allergies at this time of year. It's not the pug doing it - it's hayfever season.

:D People who google for images without checking what's on the page look like this. I think they'd be disqualified from the showring - doesnt really fit the standard...The colour is all wrong http://thisactuallyhappened.typepad.com/.a...2f3d3970b-800wi

I sent a photo to someone titled as Appendix A Galapagos Monkey. If someone googled they could probably find my dog up there and not realise...there arent actually any Galapagos Monkeys. Google is fantastic and they'd post it on the net in a forum just to try to prove a point THAT THERE ARE BLOODY GALAPAGOS MONKEYS :D

Oh man you can google anything to be able to join in a thread and post photos. I just googled JRTs with disqualifiable colours and found this :D Now if that's a JRT I'm King Tutankhamen. Loubylou, you're a mongrel. Your owner should call you as such. http://y2u.co.uk/Canine/photo/Jack_Russell..._Loubylou_3.jpg

It's all over the place, isnt it. Obviously written by someone who thinks that all Islamics are big bad people who think dogs make them wash their hands before prayer, but the author is obviously trying to give a different stance, albeit badly.

I havent made it my mission to run you down at all, nor has anyone else. You're doing a good enough job on your own. OK you win. I'll go back into my corner and not address you anymore
-
:D You have, infact. Maybe you have forgotten?
-
No sorry I cant make a point of that at all because this is a public forum and you're posting photos in this thread just to try to prove the point that in your own mind, standards shouldnt be adhered to. And that isnt a photo of me in my avatar. Even a blind and really stupid person would know that

if they are Newf's I'll eat a hat :D I'll eat a fluffy hat. Where are some people finding these photos?

It happened to my first dog, Jades. It's pretty easy - they just grind it down like they do for humans if a tooth is causing a problem with the bite. If it's piercing his palate he'll be a lot happier having it done - wont hurt him or anything to have the dental job done
-
Naww the little bugger looks like he wants to go in again. Naughty little thing. It looks pretty bloody cold.

I agree. Have a squizz in here for pet friendly accom. http://www.dogzonline.com.au/accommodation...ist.asp?state=2 What a great age for the old boy.

However, having domesticated animals free to roam inside a house, contact with which would require ritual cleansing, would be quite tricky from a practical point of view for Muslims who are required to pray five times a day – even though there is no actual legal prohibition of dog ownership. Islamics ritual cleanse each time before prayer anyway, regardless of whether a dog has been romping around, so that doesnt actually make sense. Otherwise, it's nice to finally see a good dog article come out of Iran. Thanks for posting, Sky.'

He looks like his handler

Keep a close eye on the condition of his front teeth. They may be more prone to tartar than in a dog with more correct bite. They might need to be ground down under GA as well - if they're piercing his palate he wont be very comfy.

Excellent point. My terriers will never do what they were intended for but I would hate to think someone might be out there wanting a colour not in the standard just because it's 'rare' to have one with pink and green spots and costs a lot more for the fashion conscious who will pay extra for a 'rare' colour. I'll stick with what the standard dictates The standards are all there for a reason. Was Moselle ever a registered breeder?
-
Where's the photo of the puppy - I cant see him at all. I havent shown for a while but I have never personally seen a blue Stafford entered in the showring. And I agree with conztruct - if I heard a breeder say 'ofcourse the blue staffords cost more (a little, a lot, doesnt matter) I wouldnt touch them with a 10 foot pole
-
That's not off topic I dont think - Steve is looking at it across the whole board. I thought your post was really interesting. Something you said really twigged with me - that cute little fluffy grows up eventually. How can that impulse buy be nipped in the bud? Age old question really.

I think that's a great post by moosmum. I have a little nephew who lectures people about buying nestle products because 'an orangutan will die if you eat a kitkat'. He is totally rampant about palm oil and such a great walking advertisement. If you can get to the kids re education, I think you're half way there - they're great little ambassadors. disclaimer - no I didnt put that thought into his head. I'm not sure who did but I can tell you, his parents are too terrified to buy anything containing palm oil because their son will just fly into them He's only 7.

I didnt say it wasnt your right but what's it going to achieve? You'll be $1200 poorer and would have wasted a day in Court - you wont be taking a stand against revenue raising - you'll be doing the opposite. Here's a plan - dont get the fine to start with. Seems like common sense to me but obviously not. And it's all well and good for you to say people on this forum are patronising someone who ignored a prohibited area but it's perfectly acceptable for those of us who do the right thing to be ridiculed. How funny. Now I'll quote mum to emma because this sums it up and maybe it'll miraculously sink in In this case the council officer was being over zealous and the fine was ludicrous but they are no doubt responding to complaints about the huge number of dogs owners who think dog control signs don't apply to them. The sign was there, dog owner ignored it, wasted a day in court and quadrupled his initial fine then came out with the ludicrous comment that the money could have bought 4 dogs from Monika's. That's laughable. Scuse me now I'll just tuck under my tail and take my whimpering card carrying robotic self off to make a but atleast I still have $1200.

One of my all time faves on dogzonline. Farewell bug boofy. You were much loved. Look over your mum while she's hurting so much to be without you.
-
That is gorgeous. A friend of mine is a breeder and with every puppy sale she sits on the front porch and bursts into tears. Unfortunately sometime the puppy buyer has to drive back because they've forgotten something and they catch you having a cry. You mean hearted breeders
-
I really do think Steve has said it - I'm trying to look at it as just Joe Blow wanting to buy a dog. Now the problem is, getting Joe Blow to love his puppy and know what the bond is between breeder, buyer and puppy. I'll sleep on this and hope to come up with an idea.

'I want someone who loves them. If you love them and care about what happens to them for the rest of their lives then you dont compromise on anything for any reason.' Steve from x prefix. I dont think you could actually get better than that for a member of the public. It's punchy, it's simple, it hits the heart strings and it's actually true.
