He was actually a very healthy bird - it's just that I'm super crappy at resizing photos. Resume normal programming.

Because they think it makes them look good. I dont know why they cant say in the code of ethics, no sales to pet shops or to wholesalers. How much weight does a code of ethics have in a legal sense in that they're not actually restricting trade because if the breeder doesnt agree with it, they just let their membership to the CC lapse and sell to whoever they want anyway.

I think tt means the breeders that sell to him.

That makes sense RSG. I agree with you - I imagine not much is done about it.

Using Dna To Catch People Who Don't Clean Up After Their Dogs
raz replied to sandgrubber's topic in In The News
Unbelievable. You know, if a human dropped his pants and left one on her front lawn every morning there would be bloody outrage. I would have reported her to the ranger - filthy old bitch! -
As long as they are PIAA accredited, breeders can sell to pet shops and wholesalers. Code of Ethics for dogsnsw A Member shall not: (a) sell any dog to commercial dog wholesalers or retail pet dealers, who are not accredited by the Pet Industry Association of Australia Limited (PIAA). I dont know what their process is if a breeder is caught selling to non PIAA members

Using Dna To Catch People Who Don't Clean Up After Their Dogs
raz replied to sandgrubber's topic in In The News
It's not the odd lump. The way you're carrying on about a bit of poop gives the impression you dont pick up after your dog either. If every dog owner did something as simple as bend down, pick up their dog's shit and put it in the bin, there'd be less people screaming to crack down on dog owners. Pretty simple concept - I'm not sure why you dont understand it. -
It is a shock, isnt it. You have to put it aside though, Myf. Really tough at the time when someone who knows you and knows what your animals mean to you just bombards you with that, isnt it.

I'm not a breeder or a show person either but what happened was, she was dobbed in for having her dogs debarked in NSW and then shown in Victoria. The charges were that the dogs were shown, not that they were debarked. Pretty insane, isnt it. That's why no one understands it. It wasnt a cruelty matter but a political matter. She wasnt cruel to the dogs - she simply exhibited them after they'd been debarked in another state.

Once you attract the attention of some bloody insane dog person, that's where the problems began. Judy Gard attracted the attention of some nutcase in the dog world. The same thing happened in this thread with someone wanting to spread malicious carry on. Nice move.

Or how about if he had a leaky pen in his hands and he was about to approach someone who had just spent thousands of dollars on a wedding dress and were just stepping out to get married. Would it be OK to ask him to put the pen down and keep the ink away from Persian silk? The hysterics over 'Are your hands clean' is really gobsmacking.

Oh you've got to be kidding?? If you want to hide behind the "I never mentioned your child by name" crap when you all hurled the insults then I'll do the same and say that I never mentioned anyone by name when i mentioned child haters - if you want to step up to the plate and claim that that title was applied to you than that's your problem you can deal with it, I have better things to do with my time than argue with you - like play with my grubby little children! I dont even know what your kid's name is so how could I mention him by name. He could be a figment of your imagination for all I know. You're a stranger on the internet. I dont know you OR Little Johnny or whatever his name is.
-
No one insulted your child. You, on the other hand, insulted all of us by calling us kid haters. That was extremely rude.
-
And I'll be just as arrogant now and say these are my priorities in life: My dogs Myself My husband My extended family Not some stranger's kid. I devote some time every day to those first 4 things. I devote absolutely none to a stranger's kid unless it's in a news article that I'm reading, or a thread here about a member's child. Day to day - I dont think about some unknown child

Very cute. He looks like he's going to grow up to be a bit of a terror

Stop The Use Of Pound Animals For Experiments At Queensland University
raz replied to DMA's topic in In The News
OK here's another example and also a genuine question - I can learn to drive a car just from reading a textbook. Would you be comfortable letting me loose on the road for the first time with your child in the back seat? -

I think you're right, but they wouldnt care about having their dogs DNA being registered either. Same old story - it's the people who do the right thing who'd be interested, not the lazy selfish pricks who wont pick up after their dogs -

I think it's overkill. Why cant people learn to just pick up after their bloody dogs! -

Sure for sure and it was totally genuine - I just dont understand how you could learn to operate on an animal without getting in there and doing it (probably because I've never cut an animal open or given an IV). I'm sure it's possible - some people can lock themselves in a room and teach themselves a new language just from a book - I dont understand how they can do that either - but they're pretty far and few between. As I said to Rappie earlier, it;s very interesting for a lay person. -
As a dog lover (but not a showie) and a parent, I honestly have no idea I have no idea either, but what was funny was - grubby little hands actually had nothing to do with this thread. A n00by was obviously upset that her kid was asked if he had clean hands before touching a dog before it went in the ring (no big deal but it obviously put a bee in her bonnet) and that he was frightened when he got rushed by a dog in a crate. She just wanted to use this thread to have a go at purebred owners and 'kid haters'. Would have been a bit more dramatic if she called us kid killers, I guess, but kid hater was goddamn offensive enough.

;) :D ;) Cant...type...tummy...hurting Hahaha he probably thought we were creepy with our 'dog fetish'. Imagine what he thought we did with them... probably misread 'exhibiting' as 'exhibitionism' I know it was really quite extraordinary. I dont know why he thought people on a dog forum were more interested in talking about dogs than his nipple rings. Blew my mind, quite frankly.

;) :D ;) This post has taken me half an hour to type but I'll try to get it out without laughing too much. Did you ever see the thread a few years ago written by a guy who was totally incensed that all people on Dogzonline did was talk about dogs? Everyone just turned around and said - urmmmm it's a DOG FORUM He thought it was more important that we talk about the half nude photos he posted of himself than our own dogs. Now let me ask you...what is wrong about that picture??? He left. He didnt get the attention he wanted. I guess he would have been better off if he'd been a dog, not a person.

Incredible, isnt it. Who would have thought that. Mind boggling.
