  1. Same for me and I have to say, my brother worked on lab rats when he was a student in Canada. There is a resident feral rat in his roof that he wont let his wife kill - because he loves rats as a result of his studies with them. There is a thread in OT about the slaughter of brumbies. If they were going to be sent to the doggers in Camden anyway, wouldnt it have been better if they were given to vet schools for students to learn on rather than end up in a crappy can of dog food?
  2. Yes they do. Did the current owner (who had the dog offlead) register the dogs with council?
  3. So have you changed your mind now? I dont get it - are you saying those vets you used werent adequately trained at Uni?
  4. Give me a prod on thursday to remind me, dobes . I enjoy the discussions on here about it as well.
  5. Oh god how ridiculous is that. Some people are just so ignorant. I love his vietnamese name - pho cho
  6. Not for me it isnt eta and my name isnt Rover
  7. What's all over and who is Rover? It's not all over because everytime Dolers watch the show and disagree with how something is portrayed on it, they'll express it on this forum, and the Chris Wives will jump up and down just as easily as the Twiwives do when someone says they cant stand the books or the movies.
  8. Well it's good you can banter about it without getting upset then. Good for you. It's interesting to discuss likes and dislikes without getting grumpy, isnt it. A few people did say, however, if you dont like the show, dont watch it. Well I could say, everytime there is a thread about Bondi Vet people discuss what they dont like about it on this forum, so if you dont want to see negative comments, dont read the thread. That would be pretty unfair of me, dont you think?
  9. It's not important enough for me to stick it on my calendar. And I know there are others who dont agree with me and think the shows is great. Good on them . I watched a new Australian film the other night and thought it was absolutely brilliant. There are more people on the internet movie data base forums who think it's garbage. No big deal to me. I dont take it personally - not sure why people who like the show and love Dr Chris are getting their knickers in a twist that a lot of people here are saying the show is unrealistic. If you watch the film critics on The Movie Shw say your fave film is garbage, is that going to upset you?
  10. Infact I think I will watch it again next week if I remember. 2 reasons 1. I like to perve at him with his shirt off 2. It's great to be in a thread with so many like minded people who can shoot holes right through the show
  11. I watched it to see why Dolers always criticise it and there was nothing else on last week. Sure it's a money making business as movies are - wont stop me from saying - I watched the doco on purebred dogs after seeing a thread here and thought it was crap. It's not like viewers who dont own dogs and arent members of Dogzonline are going to be any the wiser by a thread on here anyway. It's like the gardeners program - people here watched it because it was a train wreck.
  12. Why? People say - gee I hated such and such a movie or an ad for the following reasons. Why on earth cant they say they cant stand a tv show?
  13. Because a comment was made that most members of the public wouldnt know the difference between good conformation and bad. I gave an example of non doggy people who noticed and pointed it out to me. We then had a discussion about buying a well bred dog from a reputable breeder. I'm not sure why you're being sensitive about it.
  14. Interesting that the journo says the exotics were probably hidden out the back. They werent when I was in Japan - fully on display in those shitty stinky cages. It might be an interesting exercise for you when you get back to make enquiries to see if that journo is still with the publication and ask if they want to do a follow up story from a tourist's perspective. The Japanese are very self conscious about how they are portrayed to visiting foreigners.
  15. Isnt that funny. I went up to a mum and daughter walking two Jacks in the local area one day and stopped for a chat. I said - I know where you got your jackies from. Myrmidon JRTs. The look on her face was like this I could tell from the heads. Gorgeous little creatures.
  16. No I didnt. I'm totally confused.. Oh well...we must be at cross purposes. Sorry.
  17. Huh? Report me if you think I hijacked the thread.
  18. It's not about beauty -v- ugly. It's about a dog that's well put together. Can we focus on that? A well bred dog. The dog in my example is obviously not well bred because anyone can see he was put together wrong. Seeing a dog put together right is something to be proud of.
  19. Sure for sure. There is a staffy x pug in my local dog park. He turns heads every time he's there - the ugliest bloody thing you've ever seen in your life. His owner loves him and thinks he's beautiful and he gets great care so that's all that matters, but I've driven by with non doggy friends who have all said the same thing - shit that is ugly. They also point out other dogs and say - that's really beautiful! They wouldnt have a clue why one dog strikes them as shit ugly and another strikes them as really stunning. That's when it's our job to have a chat about well bred animals.
  20. Maybe not but they see a dog that makes them take notice - people arent dumb even if they dont know what great conformation is - they still take notice of a dog that makes them think 'OMG that is a beautiful specimen'. Doesnt matter if they dont know why they think it is. A beautiful animal is a beautiful animal. I was watching a little cairn terrier in the local dog park today. I just thought the same as the OP who started this thread did - wow what a well put together little purebred dog. And I was with a Doler the other afternoon when a lady walked by with her labrador. We both said the same thing - what a great looking lab.
  21. What a great thread, Baby Dragon! I took my demented dog to Steve and she's almost normal now Steve is great
  22. Here you go Melza. Interesting article: http://weekenderjapan.com/?p=13619 which is where I found the animal welfare group in Japan http://www.alive-net.net/english/index.html And to give people a better idea of the sort of shitty shop melza was so upset by http://www.alive-net.net/english/en-compan...ka-petshop.html
  23. There's a lovely couple in my suburb with a gorgeous Irish Wolfhound. I always stop to talk to them about their beautiful dog. eta I just saw your edit. Amazing, isnt it.
  24. They also teach reading. What does it say at the top of the page? Australia's Pure Breed Dog Community. If you had ever bothered to read the forum rules, you would know what that means. Moving right along away from the hijack - what a lovely OP, souffle. Isnt it great when you see a dog out in public and just think to yourself - my god what a shining example.
  25. Now I'm tempted to do that ... I think I'll go into an 'elitist' chili lovers forum and start crapping on about what racists they are because they dont talk about carrots, they only talk about chilis
