I didnt mean his and my child, you dork! I have a scathingly brilliant idea. When I come in tomorrow I'm going to abduct Sparky. Not sure how I'll lift the hairy mammoth into my car yet, but I'll find a way. Then I'll threaten to shove him in the pool unless SuperVet gives me a discount. No hang on I have a better idea. If he doesnt give me a discount I'll leave Pancake in his house.

A few of us on here all use the same vet. I dont ask what he charges - he can have my first born child if he wants. Great vet, great people skills and his Practice Manager is AWESOME (that's Stormie on here - she's great)
-
That's nice but how many dogs - two or more? Are you taking up more time than one consult eg are you just having them vax'd? If I take 25 dogs into my vet at the one time, should I ask for 1 consult fee just because I'm one person and we're all in the room together? What if I take up the entire block for say 8am-11am with 25 dogs and different maladies? He would be missing out on every waiting patients' consult fee. Not really fair in that regard. The consult is for the patient, not the owner but my vet no doubt knows about this thread by now so I'm going to tease him about it tomorrow . eta Dan - I'm going to mention your ginger beast

Narrr I think I'll just bring all of my dogs in, shove them in the room with SuperVet (poor guy) and Stormie can make me coffees, then I'll just hand over the Deeds to my house when SuperVet asks me to pay the bill. To the OP - just ring up your vet clinic and ask.
-
Yeah exactly you thieving bastards I'll see you tomorrow with my lot. I dont care what you charge - I know where you live if you rip me off :D
-
Even if it takes the time for two consults? The consult is for the dogs, not for the owner I'm taking two dogs in tomorrow so I'll test this out
-
How funny. What if you take one in this morning and one in this afternoon? You're still getting two different consults whether they're in the room together or not.
-
Sure for sure. I have multiple dogs so I'll pay my vet's rates per consult per animal. I think that's fair. I know he's not going to rip me off so I'm not going to quibble about fees when he's there to keep my dogs healthy and happy.
-
Why dont you do it like my GP who is just down the road from you guys. He has fees for normal and long consults. I think most GPs probably do that these days. I'd still expect to pay 2 consult fees if OH and I both went in and shared the room because we're taking double time. I'd also expect to pay per consult per animal if I lobbed up at your clinic with my lot. As I said earlier, the consult is per animal, not room space if we're all in there together. I still want my coffee when I come in tomorrow, Stormie. Infact I want a double shot because I'm bringing two dogs
-
Fair enough. What about a Doctor. Husband and wife have an appointment each but go into the consulting room together. They both get equal consultation time for different maladies, general check up etc etc. Would it be fair to charge for 2 consults? snap staff
-
Why dont you think it's fair, LP? To use your example of a plumber, if I own the house next door and ring a plumber to check bathrooms in both houses, wouldnt he charge me twice?
-
My vet makes me a coffee I'd still expect to pay for multiple consults if I took in multiple animals. If he charges me 2 consult fees for 2 dogs I'll just ask for another coffee!
-
I would assume you'd pay per dog. The consult is for the animals, not one person taking them in. I'll ask my vet nurse.

the double pop is hilarious.

Have a great day tomorrow, Troy. Have a safe one

Great thread!

He looks comical with his bug eyes and cross teeth and he's always bumping into things. That's not comical - it's tragic.

Hi tracie. Who is the broken record? At no stage have I ever said someone does not have the right to go to court. You bolded my quote - try reading it.
-
Absolutely. I totally agree with you and as people on this forum keep saying, it's the responsible dog owners who get shafted every single time the irresponsible few decide to just blatantly ignore a regulation. It just brings in more regulations.
-
This is such a great idea. I dont know why more councils dont implement it. (maybe because some dog owners are totally irresponsible and would just ignore the restrictions anyway???)

Gee she's lanky. She's going to be pretty big - check out those long legs.

And the $100 on the spot fines apply makes it pretty obvious that if you take a dog on the beach, you're going to get stung. Flaunting it to test it will just be viewed as arrogance and quite frankly, it really stuffs it up for other dog owners. Council obviously doesnt want dogs on that beach so you're just going to have to take yours to a beach where they are welcome. 20 minutes isnt far. I've got a 1 hour drive to get to a dog beach - no biggy.

My local ranger is really good too, Clyde. Very approachable.

I wish I had reported a twit in the local dog park for thinking it was funny his dogs were threatening one of mine - ohh look they're just saying hello. Jumping at my dog and ripping his beard off was not saying hello. Mongrel! It was the last time I used the park.
