My nearest petbarn doesnt sell puppies at all. They direct any enquiries to a particular rescue group.

Pftt. Fifi offered on my behalf. Give the litle runaway blowfly to her and she can deal with him while you have a relaxing holiday. Maybe the Wolfies can flog his bum and keep him in line.

Sure is, Pav. Even richer is tenants who wreck a property that belongs to someone else. A friend of mine had to spend thousands, THOUSANDS, repainting and recarpeting an entire house after a nice family moved out after only 12 months. She now will only ever rent to young professionals with no kids or pets. Her house, her right. As you said, if someone wants to whinge about it they can save up and buy their own bricks and mortar.

That's hilarious. The person paying the mortgage has every right to be given applications by the property manager and say No, No, No, No...this one looks good - young professional non smoking skippy couple with no children and no animals. Accept it. The more demands that are placed on investment owners, the faster they'll ditch their investment properties and sink their money into something else. Then tenants will really have something to complain about.

Hey be quiet you. I've already suggested it but I think Clyde might be worried that Cakes will turn Alvin into a mad dog.

Have fun. I look forward to tuning into your travel blog.

What a bittersweet story.

Maybe ask the forum owner if you can spruik your business first. Seems like a good start.

What sort of fencing do you have, bonnie? Goodluck with this. Looks great.

Any wonder council isnt acting. You sound like a vexactious complainant. Ever thought about what action your neighbours could take against you constantly peering over the fence and taking photos of their private property?

raz replied to yellowgirl's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hideous but funny. I agree that you should have gone for more of a mini lion. Was your friend in tears or rofl? -
What an idiot! He should be fined for littering and cop the rescue bill. Tosser.

I would suggest going much simpler, Cas. The average jo Blow out there wouldnt know what some of those terms mean, and if they dont understand why you're asking some questions they wont bother answering so I think you have to be more product specific. Where did you get your dog - dont even prompt with a multiple choice answer, just let them answer it. What breed or cross breed is your dog - you'll have to take those answers with a grain of salt anyway What size - give weight categories Coat - short medium long (dont bother with terms like wire, rough etc because a lot of people wouldnt know) Age Hmmm not really sure how you should question health issues. What products do you stock for health issues eg special diet kibble etc? Desexed question - be more product specific Lots of other great suggestions, especially if they'd like to be able to order online/delivery. go for stuff like grooming (what shampoos, equipment bla bla)toys maybe, harness -v- crates etc for car, how often they worm, bedding. How did you find out about us - friend, google, vet, breeder, yellow pages etc that's the most important question. Give an indication before the questions approx how long it will take to fill in and make sure it isnt too long or they wont even start. If I see a survey that doesnt indicate time or is longer than about 5 minutes i dont even bother eta I dont know if this is too cheesy or not but would you consider offering X product to encourage as many people as possible to complete it eg everyone goes into a draw to win whatever product? People are basically pretty lazy so unless there's something in it for them your survey will just go into the recycle bin

What a shame. I took on a pup with an inguinal hernia and it corrected itself as it does in humans in most cases. It's never been a problem. All the best to your friend. I hope she finds another puppy in the future. The poor thing must be pretty upset if she had her heart set on this one then had to make a decision at the last minute.

Make sure your compost area is fully secure. Mouldy compost especially in this weather is a real problem.

Rescue Lumping Breederswith Byb And Pet Shops
raz replied to Kavik's topic in General Dog Discussion
dont ask me Tris - ask the OP. She felt strongly enough about it to start a thread and my first reaction was - I'm not sure why you're surprised because it's been a constant on this forum since I joined. Doesnt worry me though. I live in a free country and will exercise my right to buy a dog from wherever I want which is from breeders of my choice. I couldnt give a crap if some rescuer or animal rights' numpty wants to try to guilt me or tell me I cant buy from a breeder because I'll kill a dog. That's just ridiculous. -

I wonder how many breeders write all over FB that every time someone buys a dog from rescue they are killing one of their home bred puppies, then post on utube some moron throwing a body bag with a dead dog in it infront of a little kid bawling her eyes out? Probably none. -

That Peta ad is atrocious but I'm not surprised - it's typical of the tactics they use and just makes them look ridiculous. My dogs are all from registered breeders and nutcase extremists certainly cant make me feel guilty about that. -
Great looking birds. Just a pity that what comes out the other end isnt so pretty, especially when my dogs roll in it.

Sa Govt Employs Dog Experimenter As Thinker In Residence
raz replied to Robbi's topic in General Dog Discussion
Why 'sadly'? Who in their right mind is going to take on a universally respected Prof of Psych on something he did 50 years ago with the approval of his Ethics Committee because one person wants to call him a torturer of animals. I'll ask again, have you ever seen a medical specialist and then abused them for conducting experiments 50 years ago for their PhD so they could cure you? I dont get it because a lot has changed in the last 50 years so bringing something up that he did half a century ago when it was accepted has absolutely no bearing on what he does today. -

No need to apologise, Robbi. You've just got to be a bit careful of accusing people of words like that in the public arena because it can come back to bite not only you but forum owners -

I'm not defending the decision because I dont know anything about it, but you are aware that whenever you see a medical specialist they quite possibly conducted animal experiments at some stage. Do you call them torturers as well? Seems a pretty strong word to be using, especially on a public forum and if you're trying to gain public interest. I dont really know but I'd be having a bit of a think about that, especially in light of Rev Jo's post.
