Oh how sad.. Maybe they should have left it at the park and it would still be living it's days out in familar surroundings.. Really who do they think they are that they can just decide to put down an animal because they feel it is right.. Now I can understand in some cases, but the owners are saying it was in good health, now this....

It is easy to find medical problems when there is a number of dogs that can be tested... I would like to see the research done on say *insert large number of* or more cavalier x pugs (or any cross bred) and see how many of those have serious medical issues.. I get so annoyed when people start saying x breeds are healther and live longer then purebreds, where is the data for all these healthly cross breds??

Tuna / Salmon / Sardines: Oil Or Springwater
MissMolly replied to Skruffy n Flea's topic in General Dog Discussion
I normally feed my girls sardines once a week and I use the ones in oil and i just drain off the excess oil.. Now today hubby brought home 8 boxes if tuna (16 cans in each box, John West) he though I gave the girls tuna, now this is smoked tuna is that ok to give to them?? -
If there is irrefutable evidence it was those dogs-then yes,it should be automatically impounded and euthanased,no appeal. After seeing an old horse run into a fence by 2 german shepards and breaking two legs, staying with the old girl while they got the cops out and the sound of the old horse as she tried to get up,then her being shot-i have no compassion, sympathy for animals like these and they do not deserve to be around, whether contained or not.Sorry if that offends anyone with stock killing dogs. This made me cry... How awful for the horse and for you.. I am glad the old girl wasn't alone even though it would have been so heart breaking for you..

Most CKCS puppies noses will turn black by the time they are around 4 to 6 weeks, some can take a little longer.. I should say in some cases the nose doesn't completly fill in, chances are if mum and dad have complete black noses then your pup should also.. It is too early to tell at 2 weeks of age.. How exciting a new cavalier puppy be prepared to have your heart will and truly stolen..

I am sure that certainly didn't help the dogs (poor things)and their emotional state, that is about a 4 hour trip and most of them have more then likely never been in a car before.. -
Purebred Vs Designer Mutts Channel 9 Morning Show
MissMolly replied to Shmurps's topic in In The News
Ok i am confused, In one post your were complaining about the price of purebreds and now you are saying price isn't the issue. I can buy a pure bred cavalier cheaper from a ethcial breeder then I could from a pet shop.. And I think you are missing the point, most people get annoyed because breeders of so called designer dogs do not do any sort of health tests for their dogs, because they are foolish enough to believe there is no health issues.. When you were looking at getting your rescue dogs I bet you didn"t see many if pure bred dogs there... Most dogs in the rpsca and rescues are crosses and lots of them are your so called designer bred dogs.. -

I was thinking the same.. seriously they certainly good of given the dogs some time to adjust and when she said they were biting and scratching! Surely scratching isn't a reason to PTS... -

I am with you Kirty... Just another way for PP to grab attention and now they will have 100's of calls regarding Harry... Not bad PR.. -
There is no hard and fast rule and not every dog fits into the standard of what weight a dog should be.. My Miss Molly is just over 9 kilos and for a cavalier most would say she should lose some weight, I did get her down to under 9 kilos but i could see her hip bones so that was too skinny for her. I am happy with how she looks now... She still has a waist but no more hip bones sticking out.. You know by looking at them if they are too skinny.. Just ignore them and yes I agree to many people have fat dogs so they think it is normal... There is nothing worse then seeing an overweight dog trying to get around..

For me it is a dog that totally steals you heart.. You know even when they are not with you anymore they will always have that special place in your heart..

Hair is just a part of life here.. I vacumn every second day (it needs to be done every day), we have one of those rolly things in the car that I get the children to use before they get out at school to get some of the hair off their school clothes, and everyone who comes here knows that there will always be a hair or two in the coffee.. Go with it Aussie3 it is so much easier....

I second that.. I think that's the ad I saw, they are wanting a female cav on main reg, will swap for a kitten. Starting to sound like a scam..

Just wanted to say that a King Charles Spaniel and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel are two different breeds..

Positive Thoughts Needed For Dear Porridge

LizT we were told she was desexed, and she hasn't shown any signs of having a season and she has been with us since April last year. But she was used to make lots of cross puppies and if she is desexed (which i think she is) then it wasn't until just before we got her.. -
Ok I wasn't going to post about this, but I would love everyone positive thoughts sent my dear Porridge's way. She is at the vets today having a mammary tumour removed as it is cancerous and growing quite fast. She is almost 9 and has a grade 6 heart murmer so the decision to have this surgery was not taken lightly as it is a big risk. So I need everyone to send her positive vibes so she makes it through.. She is such a dear sweet girl and sadly spent some of her years being abused and used by others but is now living life been spoilt like all cavaliers should be.. I am doing my best to stay positive.. Here is a couple of photo's of her.. Thanks..

Purebred Vs Designer Mutts Channel 9 Morning Show
MissMolly replied to Shmurps's topic in In The News
Taken from the Today show site "They’re more popular than ever and they’re even outselling traditional pure-breds but are these new cross-breeds a good mix? Dr. Katrina Warren joins us with some very cute friends. " .................... All i can say is that of course they are out selling pure bred dogs, because crosses are being mass produced and sold to anyone thru pet shops.. Oh and i clicked on the link on the right and came across this site.. http://www.aapdb.com/ Who are they?? -
