That is just disgusting.. Why would someone buy an animal in that sort of condtition? and I know the old the public are unaware line, but really if you can see fleas all over and kittens and they have matted fur and poo in them you would know something wasn't right.. Or do people walk around with, flea and poo blinkers on....

Will Desexing Stop Males From Fighting?
MissMolly replied to MissMolly's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just wanted to update, On Tuesday my other girl left to go and stay with a friend as she also came into season and I must say since she has left the older dog (13) has stopped whimpering he was doing it all the time as he wanted to get to my girl but couldn't.. Driving himself and us nuts, the house is quiet now, well as quiet as it can be with 4 adults and 5 children in it.. The young one is at the vets today being desexed and the vet is also giving him an hormone injection. The older boy is also having the hormone injection and it will last around 5 months. I don't know the full details as my sister spoke to the vet. I have not had to wash the place down and the difference in the boys in amazing.. -
Will Desexing Stop Males From Fighting?

Thanks everyone for your replies I do apprecitate it.. When we moved in her with my sisters family I was very aware of keeping an eye on all the dogs and did my best to make sure the boys were not put out in any way (there is also a desexed female who lives in the backyard). For just over two and a half weeks we have had no issues with the boys or girls. I would pop my girls in their crate a few times a day and also take them to the dog park twice a day, giving the boys their space and allowing the girls to have some time on their own. During this time i did notice the boys would growl at each other every now and again and my sister said that is what they normally do. Also one night when my niece went to pup the matlese x to bed and he didn't want to go her growled at her and when she tried to pick him up he went to bite her.. He also tried to bite me once when I went to stop him from eating the cats food. I did say to my sister and niece that he (the matlese x) has issues that they would have to address.. I have also told my sister that I would not be getting the 13 year old desexed as I think he is too old. -

I think this is more of an issue then just because my girl came into season.. The boys have had a few fights before my girls where here but they were not as intense. One is 13 years old and he is a cranky old thing (terrier x) and the other is just over 12 months (maltese x) and he is nasty.. At times when he doesn't want to be picked up he will growl at anyone who goes to pick him up and my niece who owns him sometimes has to usher him into the bathroom (where he sleeps at night) because if he doesn't want to do it he will growl and he does try and bite if you go to pick him up. I am pleased that the young one is being desexed because my niece was going to breed from him (thank dog i have managed to talk her out of that).. I just worry that my sister and her family are expecting all the issues to go away when the boys are desexed.. -
Will Desexing Stop Males From Fighting?

Hi Ams, my bitch has been removed from the house, she went yesterday to stay with a friend of mine. -
My sister has two entire males and since I have being staying with them with my girl dogs and one of my girls has come into season, the boys have been fighting, what started out as some growlling has gotten worse. Only one seems to be starting all the fights and even thou my girl has now been removed from the house they are still fighting. My BIL has been bitten on the hand trying to break up one fight and today (with all my girls out of the house) there was another fight in the backyard and the smaller boy was injured. My sister is going to book both boys in to be desexed but will this stop the boys from fighting?

I would be shocked if they are dumpees.. Not saying it never happens but cavaliers do not often get dumped.. Hope they are reunited with their owners as soon as possible.. -
I hope Daphne keeps improving.. I found out this morning one of my girls ate an easter egg yesterday morning.. We are staying with my sister's family and my niece caught her eating it yesterday morning but knowing how I am with the girls and chocolate (I have been telling them all the time to keep it up high away from my girls) she decided not to tell me because I would worry.. Thankfully she seems to be fine..

More about this story.. http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/articl...51651_news.html Puppy farm owners told to remove all dogs Kerri-Ann Hobbs March 4th, 2010 PUPPY farmers Leslie Paxton and Melinda Pryor have been told to remove all dogs from their Beremboke property as the Moorabool Shire Council moves in to close down their puppy mill. Documents filed with the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, obtained by the Geelong Advertiser, show the couple must remove the dogs from their property until the emergency hearing, expected to be held tomorrow in VCAT, as the council tries to permanently shut down their business. But animal activists say the court proceedings are more about planning laws than saving the dogs from horrendous conditions. Emergency court orders obtained by the council at VCAT this week state Mr Paxton and Ms Pryor must remove all dogs from their Marshalls Lane property and stop using them for breeding. Tomorrow the council wants the tribunal to rule that the land be used only as farming property, as per the current planning scheme. The council also wanted: THE couple to immediately cease using the farm to breed and keep dogs. ALL structures related to the keeping of dogs removed from the property. DEAD animals, rotting food, animal faeces and other offensive matter associated with their puppy farm removed. AND the pair to pay the shire's costs for going to VCAT. What are your thoughts on this story. Tell us using the feedback form below Animal Liberation Victoria, who secretly video taped dogs on the property late last month, called on animal welfare authorities and the council to save the dogs rather than worry about planning permits. "The urgent VCAT hearing is a farce, its simply more words with no action for these dogs," ALV's Debra Tranter said. "The Paxtons can basically do whatever they want with these dogs as council and RSPCA are more concerned with planning laws than animal cruelty. "Moorabool council just want the dogs off the property so they don't have to deal with it any more. It's a joke. "What does an animal have to endure in this state before the RSPCA and council start taking action?" Mr Paxton has repeatedly refused to comment to the Geelong Advertiser, claiming the council report was false and warning he was seeking legal action. The following is from this link address. http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/articl...52461_news.html Geelong Advertiser March 6th, 2010 Horror puppy farm owners restricted to five dogs By Jeff Whalley A BEREMBOKE puppy farm at the centre of shocking allegations of mistreatment and cruelty was effectively ordered to shut down at a Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal hearing yesterday. Leslie Paxton and Melinda Pryor have been threatened with jail if they flout orders, which allow them to have no more than five dogs on their property, north of Anakie. VCAT member Dalia Cook yesterday issued an interim enforcement order demanding the couple house only five dogs on their property - effectively forcing them out of the puppy breeding business. Moorabool Shire confronted the couple at the tribunal hearing with revelations they kept up to 59 dogs in squalid conditions. During the hour-long session the couple barely spoke but did reveal there were now only nine dogs left at the site and agreed to off-load four dogs by March 10 to meet the court's orders. Ms Cook warned of the seriousness of breaching the order. "This order can be enforced as if ordered by the Supreme Court. It can be prosecuted like contempt. If there is no compliance there is the prospect of imprisonment amongst other penalties," she said. Moorabool Shire's solicitor Matt Sherwell said council rangers would visit the puppy farm again on Wednesday. "They will inspect first thing that morning. If the order is not being complied with the additional dogs will be removed and handed over to the council. Ultimately those that can't be re-housed will be put down," Mr Sherwell said. Mr Paxton and Ms Pryor will again face VCAT on March 16 to try to prevent the shire's bid to have series of puppy enclosures dismantled on their property. The couple refused to answer media questions outside the court yesterday. Animal Liberation Victoria, which helped expose the conditions at the farm, last night said the battle to crackdown on the couple's activities was far from over. Spokeswoman Debra Tranter said the organisation was concerned about the plight of the five dogs left on the property. "They shouldn't be allowed to keep five dogs. The council has found dogs dead on their property. They've lost the right to have any animals," Ms Tranter said.

They are just using his celebrity to get some free publicity for themselves..

It cost more money to keep a dog in top condition and certainly more time, these breeding bitches are disposable after all they will just keep a pup or two and start again it is not like they have to fork out money to buy another. I would assume they have more then one mating pair so they don;t care if one dies, its replaceable to them.. And yes the public should see these images, it might make some stop and think about where their next pup is coming from and that can only be a good thing..
