  8. Hi Iltby! As far as I'm aware the regular monthly Kepala meet is scheduled to go ahead on Sunday 13th, so that would work out perfect! We'd love to meet you! It doesn't look like anyone has started a thread for the meet yet, so this may as well be it! I'll cut and paste the info, and start up a list... Brilliant, thanks a lot
  9. I'm not sure if anything's been arranged already but I'm going to be in Melbourne from the 10th to the 15th and I'd love to do a Kepala meet with some of you, so if anyone's keen, let me know!
  10. Either day works for me, but I don't think Bec would be able to make it on a Friday?
  11. 9am sounds good to me I'm not overly fussed about the weekend personally but up to you guys!
  12. Exactly what Bec said You guys arrived essentially when it opened last time, didn't you? Would that be a good time?
  13. Thanks a lot for the information D&K. I'll definitely start looking into things like that.
  14. I was thinking the Saturday which is the 12th? I really want to see you though, Sam!
  15. Hi guys, I'm going to be in Melbourne for 5 days in March and was hoping we could do a zoo trip. I missed the last one and would love to meet up with you guys for another one! Let me know anyway. The trip will span from Thursday to Tuesday so maybe a weekend would be good? Jose.
  16. Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it. I suspected it would be something that's tough to crack into, but maybe it's a goal for 10 or 20 years down the track. I just don't know where to start out. Even just starting off getting some photos published here and there in magazines would be nice.
  17. Hi guys, Just wondering about making your way into the field of photojournalism or travel photography. How would you go about it and where would you start? Any help would be hugely appreciated!
  18. I think your photography is so wonderful, I absolutely love looking at your dog photos I really admire all your stuff, I think you need to give yourself more credit! That video is amazing, too. Jen, your progress is brilliant
  19. You're all totally awesome, I can't emphasise enough how much I look up to you Katie, what DSLR did you end up getting?
  20. What have you all achieved with your photography this year? Do you think you've improved - are you happy with where you're at? Is there a particular photo from the past year you're really proud of?
  21. Is it a big problem if one of the dogs does raises its hackles and does a little snap and the other one happily submits - e.g., walks away, and then they both settle? That is, if one of the dogs shows a few dominance behaviours with the other dog (not with me), and the other dog doesn't fight back, is that ok? Would that just be a normal way of sorting out who's boss? Thanks again, Andy. I personally wouldn't make a big deal of it, dogs are allowed to be grumpy with one another, just not to the point of fighting obviously. So no, I don't believe that would be a big issue ETA: Definitely wouldn't leave them home alone together for quite a few months also. If they're fighting regularly I would say it wasn't going to work out. If they're not getting along within 4 weeks I'd think it wouldn't be a suitable situation.
  22. I don't see why it wouldn't be sensible if you introduce them properly and have strong leadership and so on. We have 3 bitches and have had very few problems. I'd just keep an eye on signs of dominance...things like mounting, raised hackles, very rigid body language, etc. Don't have any toys or food lying around and don't allow the old dog to be possessive of you. Our way of introducing new dogs has always been to keep them separated for 2-3 days, having the new one walk through the house while the others are outside for them to get used to the new smell, then introducing them through a barrier and then finally face to face. That's always been very successful. I can't think of much other advice. Best of luck with it
  23. I'm amazed at how close you were able to get, Ange. Were you using an extension tube? Awesome shots, I love the bee ones. Lic, again, really gorgeous photos
  24. God, mine has been so neglected, I'm far too attached to my 100mm I took some dog photos with it a month or so ago-
