  1. I saw a little white puppy - about 5 months old - at the beach last weekend, just very adorable! Have seen a couple of adults at Riverside from time to time but you are right, they aren't a breed you see about a lot.
  2. Perth DOL meet (just in case anyone hasn't looked in the Social thread for a while )
  3. Um Ahhhhhh!!! She is soo pretty, even with all that mud!
  4. Charlotte is just gorgeous Such a pretty face and I love the shorter coats.
  5. Good chart TS! Speaking of agility and Goldies.....when I first got my current Goldie - he was 4 years old, a little on the heavy side and very unfit due to being stuck in the backyard of his previous owner. Anyway, I took him to agility one night and he did really well, except his lack of fitness did not help him jump through the tyre - he got cast, halfway through Poor bugger, everyone was laughing at him including me, I so wished I had a camera on me
  6. Cannibal, when my young fella got it, I didn't take any precautions at home with separating him from the other dog. They still drank out of the same bowl etc - and the older one never came down with CC at all. I just figure he had a good immunity. It's different for everyone but if you walked them together, then it's likely the other dog has been exposed as well so I reckon let time take it's course and see what happens - then worry or deal with it if need be
  7. Yes, it does come on quickly - which I think is why we all wonder if there is something stuck in their throat! I did anyway the first time one of my dogs had it. It was my young boy who got it - we went to the vet and they did nothing thankfully. I gave him Manuka Homey - 3 times a day for 3 days and he only coughed for 2 or 3 days from memory. There's a bout going round our local park at the moment. I'm not so worried about my dogs getting it as long as they have a good immune system and not a depressed one where the CC can end up an infection.
  8. 25kg sounds perfect for a smaller Goldie! My boofa is BIG (some guy at the river commented one day "he's a big unit isn't he?" ) and the vet wants to see him at 27kg! I can't seem to get him below 30.
  9. Well my Goldie isn't overweight but he is a big dog and looks FAT compared to your girl She is so much better off being on the lean side as opposed to being heavier, you are doing her hips and knees a great favour!!
  10. Have you tried bathing the eyes in Colloidal silver? Extremely effective and not expensive. Another option is cold black tea, very good for conjunctivitis.
  11. For anyone interested, the Ascot vet has a free hydrobath - you take your own shampoo and towels etc and away you go! :D
  12. Had a great time last night and so did Mason, lovely people and really friendly dogs, was worth the drive from the outback lol! Let me know when you guys have the next one, will endeavour to come down! Couldn't last night, I had drinks after work then dinner at my parents. GR - are you joining Candice and I at Hillarys tomorrow morning? No beach for us today, sleep-in instead I'll let you know when the next F&C night at the park is - hopefully there'll be another before the end of summer. (We used to have them EVERY Friday night a couple of years ago!)
  13. On closer inspection, I think you might be right! Go the Goldies! :p
  14. This is another dancing dog clip and almost rivals Carolyn Scott's dancing Goldie!
  15. She looks just beautiful kyliegirl, 22 years is a great innings, says a lot about the love and care she got
  16. That's true A couple of years ago a young friend of mine had his two dogs poisoned. They drove 20 minutes to Murdoch (late night) rushing to get the dogs there ASAP to get treatment - and in the rush my young friend (he was 18 or 19 at the time) and his grandfather who he was living with - had forgotten to take a wallet with them. Murdoch refused to treat the dogs until one of them went home and got a credit card My experience however was a little different. I had to take a dog there at 2am in the morning as he was obviously distressed and in pain - they put him to sleep and then asked for payment. I now go to Balcatta 24 hour vets as I have also lost a dog there and their service was far superior. Glad your dogs are OK Chocolate, dreadful fright for you, and yes, do look into insurance, I wouldn't be without it.
  17. ;) Tears streaming down my face!! I didn't have my dog under control then - was too busy watching how good his heeling was to bother calling him off! You should see him when he's focussed (on me, not a pie  )
  18. This sounds interesting! I think I need to know more It is sooo fun to watch, dogs and their handlers dancing to music! doing spiffy tricks too.. Its at Jack Mann oval on Bishop Road, they have midland, but I think its Middle swan.. its just off Roe/Toodyay Road, or near the corner of great northern Hwy and Roe Hwy How often do they have these sorts of things CNR? I've just realised I have a Fish & Chip night on at our local dog park tomorrow evening which I am kinda obligated to attend so won't get to this particular event. I'm keen to know when and where else there is 'dog dancing'! You have fish and chip night with the locals at your dog park? I wanna live where you do! The people at my local are snobby old gits!! Have a look on the DogsWest website and download the events file, it should list the events scheduled for the year. You are welcome to come I invited Candice too but don't think she and hubby will make it. Nice bunch of people and dogs at our park - only goes for a couple of hours from 6 to about 8, depending on how warm it is and who wants to hang about with drinks etc.

  21. Next time we go to the beach, remind me before hand and I'll bring the barrier I used to use when I had Duncan who did EXACTLY what Millie does! Damn rescue dogs!
  22. Sorry, that's a link to a subforum here, but it's similar to THIS one. I've had mine for about 4 years now and it's not sagged at all, is as firm as it was the day I bought it
  23. I have an arthritic dog and I find the green dog beds to be the firmest and they don't sag after being used a while. Like THIS one here. I have a folded doona and woolrest on it in winter so there is plenty of warmth but no squishyness.
