  1. ILoveFlatCoats has Grover! You could PM her as she has a new baby and only 5 minutes DOL time per day these days She was on before and I was chatting to her so drop her a PM! Grover is a lovely black boy by the way. Goofy Grover. I have a friend who has a Liver Flat Coat - she got her from a breeder here in Perth that advertises all the time - the dog doesn't even look like a Flat Coat! I hope you have a reputable breeder lined up.
  2. YES!! That stuff Maggie Beer makes costs a fortune! Where does the OP live again?
  3. OK, the highlighted bit now has ME interested!!! When and where is it again?
  4. Yes, very old fashioned fruit! We used to have quince jam when we were kids! Very cute doggie!
  5. You've agreed to give them something and in proportion to the bill (which I don't think is unreasonable) I think $1K is a suitable amount as a gesture of goodwill (very goodwill )
  6. Haha, that'd be nice, then maybe we could convince them to let us bring our Labs to work Mine's a long haired lab ;)
  7. Oh, forgot - Obedience for Cloverdale is Monday nights from 7pm to 8pm and then Agility is on Thursday nights, same time!
  8. He is just GORGEOUS Kristen! I strongly suggest you drop the obedience club south of Geraldton (that way you can come to the picnic this weekend) and go to the Cloverdal Canine Companions club. They are 10 to 15 minutes from where you are. That's my old club and they were great. There's a few Dolers here who use that club I'll be going back there when I get my puppy later this year. And the river I think you are talking about is Riverside Gardens! We have had a few DOL meets down there. I usually go most weekends, it's the best doggy place in Perth!
  9. I think you'd find that your dog would sleep most of the day after a good walk in the morning, plus the treats..... I would also say some training in the morning after the exercise - wear our her brain a bit as well and have a beautifully behaved dog (eventually) Instead of peanut butter in the Kong, if you are trying to get her to lose some weight, try smearing the inside with vegemite (make sure lots of water is available) or some cooked pumpkin, skin and all, and stuff that into the Kong. We have a DOL meet this Sunday at Piney Lakes - 10am - it's a kind of a picnic - you are most welcome to come and join us (in fact we expect you to at some stage! )
  10. I have used Holistic Animal Medicines quite a lot - their knowledge and service are fantastic :D
  11. Yes, 12 hours without a toilet break. All he does all day is sleep. Sometimes he won't 'go pee' in the morning when I leave for work so I figure by the time I get home he has must really be hanging out to 'go pee' but he just moses on out to the lawn, does a big pee, and then races to get back inside! :D And yes, my reasoning is they do hold for long periods overnight, so no big deal during the day
  12. Keep them inside. No harm can come to them, and they can't make a nuisance of themselves with the neighbours. I have a dog who prefers to be indoors than outdoors (he'd bark constantly at not being able to get inside if I left him outside) and he is left up to 12 hours somedays (I wouldn't let it go much past 12 hours) and he copes just fine. Otherwise get your dog door but restrict the access to the house so they don't run amok with mucky paws! :D Love your dear wee cottage btw! I'm jealous!!!
  13. Much better! She seems to think she is a goat? She looks a real character, do you think she's after the Johnny or the Walk.. ?
  14. She is a beautiful girl! I just love her face! My goldie has had a lot of muscle atrophy due to hip dysplasia and cruciate problems - what I found to have worked wonders was acupuncture. Our last session was about 6 months ago and I haven't seen him limp since!
  15. Too small! Too small!! We want proper piccies!
  16. perfect, and all is looking up. Its amazing how much a young dog learns from a mature one. No barking, in this neck of the woods. Good to hear, and yes I know what you mean about a young dog learning from the older one - I am kinda worried myself!
  17. New dog, new baby, new year - it's all looking pretty good for you hey?! How is Lily? Still a charmer?
  18. Not sure about sky writing but my boy goes mad and chases planes, helicopters, kites, birds - anything that flies low enough for him to see it. We were at the beach one weekend not so long ago and a helicopter flew over really low doing shark patrol, and Dougal went running off barking after it as if he was going to catch it. I think it's funny and don't discourage it ;) All I can suggest is to try and get Honey's attention and focus back onto you and treat her for doing so, rather than looking to the sky.
  19. Can I please order 2 Medium? I saw Katie's today for Ruby and Milly - they were a perfect size for my Goldie
  20. Oooh, you are a bad bad mummy, you better send that puppy to me to look after!!!! Seriously, he looks fine and dandy and I think he looks purebred. My young golden had very little hair at 6 months old and when he passed at 22 months, he still had a very thin coat (I loved it because he hardly ever dropped any hair!) Why don;t you pop into the Goldie thread here and ask all the breeders in there?
  21. My dog died within 30 minutes of being poisoned with 1080 - apparently they don't have to ingest much at all, and there's no antidote
  22. Just in case you missed my question the first time. Positive reinforcement of your own animal. No definitions of pats or glides either. Never been a head thumper myself I love it when people read threads properly
  23. This one looks like there's a mud pedicure and facial happening!
