  1. Gawd, look out Geraldton! You know you wanna be in on this :D Convoy?! :D
  2. You could always say to your friend you thought it was worthwhile her breeder knowing as she would have invaluable advice and knowledge with whelping?
  3. If it were me, I'd not make further comment to your friend about it, and email the breeder - although there isn't much can be done now I guess.
  4. You're right - I forgot about that concept. But it is in line with the "too clean" concept I raised in my post above. Immune system has nothing to do, so turns on to things that it ordinarily doesn't or shouldn't be turning against. Either way, the immune system isn't working as it should be, which is where the 'weakened' part comes from I think. I don't agree with giving animlas flea treatments to prevent fleas, I'm far more of the school of 'deal with it IF it happens'. We don't go around spraying our homes once a month with insecticide (well some people do ) just in case there may be a fly or a mozzie but imagine the impact of breathing and touching those surfaces on a regular basis?!
  5. Ditto! I just bought some Comfortis the other day from the online company that has a thread in the Commercial Marketplace (they had free postage at the weekend for some products) - their prices were good eta - Pet Supplies Australia was the online store
  6. I gave my dosh to Rubystar to pass onto you Ptolomy And I second this: But I don't second this: :D I keep telling Dougal I have a special surprise for him coming and every time he makes a song and dance out of it!
  7. Too many things to list!! None of them are from the banner advertising though, it's always been through a thread someone has posted about something or recommending something
  8. Very sad ending Sincere condolences to you and your family.
  9. KitKat - I can just imagine coming home to an extremely muddy yard because he spent the whole day infront of the fountain waiting for it to turn on. This is a Water Dog and is what I have. The water only runs for a couple of minutes if that. If the dog learns to stand in front of the sensor to get the water, the Water Dog is programmed to stop, so your dog can't just stand there and have water running all the time. Your dog has to go away for something like 30 minutes or more before it will start working again. I think it's worth a try. It's only $100 odd although Deals Direct might have them cheaper.
  10. Some obvious ones ... Peace Haven Safe Haven
  11. Have you tried totally sinking a tub into the ground and concreting around it so there is nothing the dog can actually get it's mouth around?
  12. Why don't you try a Water Dog and take the handle part off the tap once it's installed? Dog will always have water but no tub to destroy.
  13. Hey ValleyCBR, where are we meeting on the 20th? There's a few who have put aside that date and just need a place and time now
  14. I have a Solvit telescopic ramp, cost around $250 from memory (have had it for a few years now) and it's the best thing out. A bit on the heavy side but far easier on my back than helping lift a 32kg GR into the car. It's not especially narrow, nor wide. It's carpeted and the dog is more than happy to use it.
  15. Big for you, you gave Keysh a wonderful life after a rough start. She will always be with you. RIP Keysh.
  16. And he's just lovely Kristen, a beautiful, gentle old fella
  17. Pretty good! Dressing change Monday, stitches out the following Monday :D :D
  18. Excellent! That will make it easier for me to spot you :D You will likely hear us before you see us, my boy gets pretty excited when somewhere new........
  19. Fingers crossed she'll be OK! Glad you are so attentive and didn't hesitate to get her to the vet so quickly, you have done the best thing for her
  20. OK, the highlighted bit now has ME interested!!! When and where is it again? You should come to the open day, Dougal can smell food 5Km;s from us up the beach so i am sure he will be good at tracking lol!! I know! That's what I was thinking - something he'd enjoy, be good at, and not physically overexerting!
