Fingers crossed you get what yyou want GR... Goldies are lovely dogs, and especially puppies, they are such bundles of joy!!! I am currently showing the darkest goldie in the ring at the moment... He is from a cream bitch to a gold dog, and he is sooo much darker than his father! Hes not mine, the mother in law bred him. Thank you Sarah, I'm sure it will happen when it's meant to. I didn't think (from what I have heard only) that the darker Godlies do so well in the ring? What a shame your MIL doesn't still breed! I meant to say to you also, congratulations on your new little pupper! I read about it somewhere but don't think I saw a photo..... I remember his name though - Hemi! Very Maori!

There's lots of good ones. I recommend Ashridge Kennels and there's another one, can't remember the name of it but my boys stayed there a few years back - yes, thats how long ago since I have had a holiday!!. But what 10 days in April are you looking at? Between Easter and school holidays - you might be lucky to get into one of the good kennels.
-
Excellent! Yes our instructor said April 10th as well. I have no idea where to go or what to bring - what is the site you are refrring to? Re the GRWA site - there is also an information night - these actually do get held fairly regularly throughout the year I think. I will probably go to that as well. Breeders are all very knowledgable so you never know what little gem of information you might pick up
-
Oh I am!! Is that from the GRWA?? Yes! I happened to be on the site on Saturday and saw it, and then a breeder emailed me the details yesterday as well I think it will be a nice day out!

Yes, I think I will indeed have to come to a retrieving trial and meet you and your dogs! Duncan was adored by everyone - humans and other dogs. His passing was tragic I think RS should get a black lab as well Your avatar would be more accurate I would have been up for Piney Lakes yesterday except I did a My Kitchen Rules Marathon - some 12 episodes! ;) There is a Golden Retriever Fun Day on Sunday 11th April - from 10am to 2pm at the K9 grounds I think. I have the flyer in pdf form but don't know how to post it here ;) Is anyone interested? $5 grooming, BBQ, dancing dogs etc :D

Flying Fox, tigers, NZ..... sounds like Torana Park in Christchurch?

Yes! You know exactly what I am after! The darker coat dogs I have seen have mostly had that finer coat. The benefit of it being so much easier to look after is secondary to my colour preference but it is a bonus! This was my boy Duncan whose coat was very fine: And this is Duncan and Dougal -you can see the difference in coat. Are you a breeder fetchindawgs? I fell in love with Rebus, he was exactly what I want, colour, sex, and temperament. His breeder/owner explained to me how her dogs were bred for the field and the benefits etc. I wish she was still breeding!! Unfortunately I realise that as puppies it's hard to know what kind of coat they will end up with and that's a risk I have to take but the finer coat would be perfect for scent tracking. I went to a workshop yesterday and they mentioned there about the heavy coated dogs picking up more crap in their coats as they go through the forest. Anyway, everyone, keep your fingers crossed for me. It looks like I might have to wait quite a while to get what I am after!

Have you tried Robert McDowell's website? They will ask a few questions why, but are very helpful and will possibly have something suitable.
-
Yes! That's her I really liked them as people also, not just breeders :D
-
Oh wow who's are they? I think he is gorgeous, I personally love the light coloured ones but I know you love the dark ones! That night I came down to K9, I met that breeder who had the most beautiful dark Goldie boy, and she put me onto these breeders who breed under her prefix and with some of her dogs.

I just had to quote that bit so I have something to refer to when I ask you to puppysit! And yes, all that training with Mason is definitely showing! Well done! :D
-
I think I want to go and play in that playground! I love the name Beth for a black lab! :D A doler (RIP) named her black lab Bess which I also like. Hehehe, you can babysit the puppy, and train it for me!!!

Where did you go this afternoon?? I would have sooo come with you, LOVE puppies lol! I am going to be so clever with my next pup when I get him one day and start the training early, i have learnt so much with Mason so the next one will be a The breeder I met at K9 put me onto her friend who breeds under her prefix coz she had puppies - I went to meet them and put my name down with them for their next litter, and to see their current puppies. You would have loved it Candice! I didn't want to come home! I probably would have come home with another dog and Mau would have killed me Sigh maybe in 2 or 3 years time.... Welllllllllll..... shall I give you the breeders details? :D You can make an appt to go see the puppy?!

What kind of kiddies play ground is at Piney Lakes? I don't think I saw it - is it on the other side of that hill near the lake? Imagine if Rosie came back to you with a duck in her mouth?! I could never trust Dougal off lead near the lake (can't trust him anywhere)
-
Some people I met at Riverside put me onto Piney Lakes! Shame it's a bit further away from me otherwise I'd go there more often! It is a good spot for DOL meets though! Yes, I want a dark puppy..... like the colour of the Mum or darker....... need to bide my time

Three adlut Goldies and two little puppers.....I had a great afternoon!

My afternoon today made up for my morning..... pics to prove it!

FREE TO ANY HOME - almost 8 year old Golden Retriever. Easy going, too laid back, shows potential in scent tracking, non existant recall. Currently exhausted, and wouldn't even notice a change of owner. Pick up Perth. Just PM me.

Know any dog friendly bars? :D Jokes. If there were dog friendly bars/restaurants I'd be there already! I could never try and disguise my two as Guide Dogs, they're too wild No disrespect to anyone but I would LOVE to rock on up somewhere like a pub for a night out - a whole group of us - including those who own Manchester Terriers, Foxies etc with us wearing DGs and our dogs wearing their 'guide dog' gear and pretend it's a meeting for the Foundation of the Blinded (By The Morning Light) or something We could book out the beer garden somewhere, I'm sure someone would agree to that!

No, I wondered too!

Nerdy nerrrr GR Hope Trixie didn't get up to mischief! That made me laugh out loud! You have no idea how much I would prefer to LIVE in my bed never mind early mornings!! I just have to force myself or nothing would ever happen! :D
