  1. The outer fabric for a coat could be some kind of PVC or whatever they make those light raincoats from. But that's going to be noisy when he's wearing it if Benson is inside and you are trying to watch TV or sleep and he moves aboout
  2. Jersey cotton on the inside would be good as it has some stretch and also absorbency. The outside ..... ?????
  3. OMG! Who did that to his tail? ;) He NEEDS a jacket! OK, thinking cap on for fabrics .... I'm thinking lined on the inside with a natural cotton fabric and the outside ......
  4. What time of day or night will Benson be wearing the oil? I'm assuming night time so he doesn't get too hot during the day? Is he inside at night or outside? Is he used to wearing a coat laready? (Just that some dogs will rip it off ASAP!) Just wondering all this to see what sort of fabric might be useful to you......
  5. Is that top pic Kyzer?! :D :D Fantastic photos Winpara, thanks for sharing!
  6. Cats are allowed on the bed but not dogs. Dogs on own bed in bedroom and everyone is happy
  7. Two cats (Maine Coon and a Moggy kitten) plus a big Goldie. Both cats love the dog to bits and rub themselves all over him, but he just ignores them because they don't feed him or take him for walks
  8. It has a sign outside and you will hear the dogs a mile away I know exactly where it is. Really? Well maybe you should rock on up to my place and we can take a load down? :D
  9. Is that Sunday 2nd May? (Mother's Day?or is that the second Sunday in May? I always get confused) Is the APS well sign-posted? I could have quite a bit of decent bric-a-brac to donate.
  10. There should be laws that people read the whole thread before posting! Dear wee puppy, hope his owner's come forward. :D
  11. Sorry, but your post had me in fits  the thought of a dog mistaking the bonnet of the car for an open boot ;) Hope you don't have any great plans for your dog involving intelligence! But seriously, Welcome to DOL and that is one seriously good looking pupper you have there! His looks make up for anything else he might be lacking
  12. There's a Better Pets & Gardens on Nicholson Road in Canning Vale. I haven't been in there but it looks big and you can take your dogs in
  13. Oooohhhh, Sooty, that's so norty You scared your Mummy :D
  14. I saw one at a dog show last weekend Bub and I was surpised how BIG it was! Beautiful but BIG Much bigger than I have seen before.
  15. Pouring down here close to the city - love it! A bit of thunder and lightning would be good too though I'm about to make some homemade sausage rolls for the freezer - might have to have one for tea :D
  16. Yes, the last storm was too recent! Everyone is scared we are gonna suffer again :D I told my boss (thinking he might send us all home sooner like last time) but he couldn't have cared less today
  17. Severe weather warning out for tonight guys! Storms and winds up to 125km an hour...... Someone just sent us an email at work with the warning.
  18. My friend had one of each type and they were very sweet, they got away with murder though, the goldies would get into trouble if they were naughty and were made to sleep outside but Peanut and Penny slept inside on their beds. Peanut has passed away since then, he had a tumour on the spine that paralysed him the poor thing Yes unfortunately my friends spoil their two rotten! They are their children and the dogs rule the house with an iron paw! One has back issues (even though young) but the hubby can't help himself, he keeps on feeding her treats etc all the time ;) Killing her with kindness They are very entertaining to watch though and so full of character!
  19. Gorgeous Dacchy! Welcome Longdog :p I have a friend with two long haired Dacchys and they are just delightful, sooo entertaining :D
  20. No it worked for my dog, not me As for two dogs - it really is double the fun. I am back down to one dog at the moment but expect to have a puppy before the end of the year and I can't wait!!
  21. I might agree with you except that when I gave it to my dog, it was the middle of the night and I didn't even get out of bed!!! There was no body language going on there The bottle was on my nightstand and I just called the dog over, dosed him and snuggled back down to listen to the storm (which I love) Anyway, I have seen it work and will recommend it to others to try. Most people with anxious pets will do whatever they can to help them ease their anxiety.
  22. Totally agree. It seems he was very anxious while you were away
  23. How do you figure it works for the dog in a thunder storm then?
  24. Something most people do not realise with Rescue Remedy and Emergency Essence - just one dose is not how you are meant to take it (or your animals for that matter). For anxiety, you should take a dose every 15 minutes or so for an hour and then reduce the dosage as you feel it's effects (ie less anxiety). If you take say - 4 doses in an hour and you honestly feel no different, then no it's not working and it's not for you. Another thing to keep in mind is that if Rescue Remedy doesn't work for you, try Emergency Essence. They are similar but different. I have had far more success with Emergency Essence on my anxious Goldie than I ever did with Rescue Remedy
