  1. Oh, just thank your lucky stars you didn't have to share a lift with those people
  2. Well that depends on what you are looking for. I was looking for a specific coat and colour of Golden which meant I needed to look at those bred to work in the field rather than show.
  3. Dougal would be a good dog to try Maizey with if you wanted to. There was a lady at Tracking who had a DA Wei, and she used to love me bringing Dougal over as she said his body language was very non threatening and she was trying to get her dog to realise not to react to every dog that walks past. GR is that Chase? Jenni (i think) has done a really good job with him... I can't remember either of their names but she had dark hair ...... and there can't be too many DA Weis at tracking so it probably was them! This dog had two homes very early on in life, and the breeder (from Tasmania?) refused to take the dog back and told them to PTS - this lady rescued him - couldn't believe the breeder! He is a lovely dog, just needs some special training.

  5. Thanks. That sounds like a cat From a training perspective, is that because a cat can be more easily hurt? So it needs to be higher in the hierarchy? Yes - cats are generally far more vulnerable than dogs (no matter what anyone says!)
  6. My 2 cents worth here is to make sure the dogs know that the cats are above them in pecking order. The cats here sleep on the bed, the dogs on their own beds on the floor. Of course, the cats get to sleep on the dogs beds too if they choose, they have first pick on everything!
  7. This actually arrived about an hour after I posted the above and so far, it looks like a fail. It's certainly durable and it'll last a lifetime but that's only because Sally won't go near it The fabric is like the same material they use for seatbelts and for a dog who loves the soft, fluffy, squeaky toys, this obviously has no appeal. Back to the drawing board, I guess. HA, I read that the Pentapull toys are interactive toys - therefore you may need to show your dog how to play with it. It's a tug toy essentially for either you or another dog to entice your dog. I liked the look of it but I have had two golden retrievers pull something similar apart within minutes, such are their teeth and intent to win
  8. Well 2 vets opinions no ,no more pups & scan done on the occasion. I'm so afraid Emilys' next breathe is her last, this is so distressing.... hardly coping, how much more so for her, just wish I could put a tube down & give her oxygen. She is still gasping, honking,I've given ashma stuff to try open the bronchial tubes. My worst fear is a trachea flattering. Please God help Emily...now. No improvment will ring Vet t'morrow re air & condition etc.Not eating today so have given Nutrigel& glucose, she is my first born& would never part with her,not ever.....I'm so stressed out, sorry for the worry for all Bridie, don't you have an emergency vet? If your wee dog is finding breathing that hard now, she may not be breathing at all by morning I don't know how you can stand it, I would be handing her over to a vet ASAP.
  9. Do you always pile your cats and dogs in a corner like that Kirty? ;)
  10. Satellite Mercury Raleigh Astrid (not quite Astroid ) Sonic Sunny Jupiter
  11. Well they say you get what you pay for but I figure for that money, you can buy two and use them one on top of the other! Or use them as a topper for a trampoline bed Thanks for the link!
  12. Plush is no good here, gets destuffed in record time. I love the Aussie Dog toys as they are so tough.
  13. Would love too Where is it exactly? I've found Forest and Hyde parks but looked on google maps and can't see Riverside Gardens It's actually in Bayswater - at the very end of Milne street/road - your veer left and follow the tree lined road until you get to the car park and abloution block You will see a rotunda and the river from there. On Saturday afternoons in the summer, you can sit by the river under a tree, watch the race horses go past across the river (the track is right next to the river on the other side) and after the last race, they often have a band playing which is loud enough that you get to enjoy all the entertainment as well You often see dolphins swimming up and down the river as well. A lot of people go there in the evenings in the summer (after work with a beer ) and chill out - such a shame we donlt have daylight saving any more - it was brilliant being able to still be at the river at 8pm at night
  14. She sure is a show stopper! How gorgeous What about Louella? Not french enough? Bibi? Giselle or Gisela? Margot?
  15. CC, have you been down to Riverside Gardens yet? It's not far from where you are. It's an off leash area but it's huge and there's a nice walk as well - lots of big and little dogs and everything in between, everyone is friendly. Some people let their dogs off leash, others are happy to keep them on and do a walk. We have had a few DOL meets there. I go every weekend, not too busy at present as it's not swimming weather (even though my boy has to test the water anyway ) but it does get busy in summer so you need to pick your times then so Louis wouldn't feel too threatened or overwhelmed. You should come down one weekend! Mason's mum sometimes comes too.
  16. What about acupuncture? I have used Deb who works from her home in Shelley but I have lost her contact details - Ptolomy here has them, maybe PM her? We haven't seen Deb for about 12 months now as he has been doing so well after 5 or 6 acupuncture sessions
  17. Oh, so it's not a one off fee? You have to pay for different areas? How many house sitter sites are there I wonder though, I bet there's a few
  18. I would be happy to have you house sit for me if I was going away. I would be happy that you don't know a lot of people and therefore you wouldn't be inviting everyone over for a big party! I think you should register, I think you would be a great idea as long as you intended to stay in one place for at least 2 weeks. What does it cost to register?
  19. K9Angel your dog has a yellow diamond stud for an eye! But forget about eyes, did anyone see the pic of the cat on the link Jigsaw posted? Check out the ears!!!
  20. Mason's mom, make the most of the peace and quiet! I love it when Dougs is at the vet for the day! I get to do lots without having my shadow getting in the way
