Was it you that wanted the original recipe for the Lolly Cake slice?? My memory fails me too often A packet of Malt biscuits, a tin of condensed milk, a packet of Pascall Fruit Puffs (from NZ only I think) or a packet of coloured fruit sticks. Crush biscuits, chop up fruit sticks, mix in condensed milk and form into a log. If mix is too sticky, add more crushed biscuits or dessicated cocnut. Roll log in cocnut and put in the fridge for a couple of hours to set and then slice. Voila!! VERY SWEET!!!!

Strengthening A Dogs Immune System

Holistic Animal Medicines is based here in Perth and they are fantastic to deal with. -
Just to add .... the brand I have is Solvit, and there are some currently on ebay. There is also a folding one and a telescoping one - I prefer the latter as there is less handling or lifting involved. Solvit Deluxe Telescoping pet ramp Just found a lightweight one - 5.8kg! HERE.
-
Have you seen THIS RAMP? I have one for my Golden Retriever and use it every day. I won't lie to you and say it's a lightweight item - it does weigh about 10kg but anything that is strong enough to hold 30kg will need to weigh about that. However, it is easy to use, the fact that it is telescopic means you don't actually lift it out of the car, you just rest one end on the back of the car, and slide the ramp in or out. You then lift it just a little to stow it in your car. Mine lives in the back of my car so I am not lifting it in and out etc. It has been a godsend and has saved my back, as well as prevented further injury to the dog who has bad hips and knees. I bought mine at a local pet supply store and they beat the price that one of their competitors were selling the same ramp for (I think I got it for $250 instead of $300). I have had my money's worth from this ramp already, just in not risking a back injury, so I consider it money well spent.

I gave the dog one of his i-squeaks from the back of the car when I let him out at the park today ....... and he dropped it somewhere after I had walked at least half the park ...... so we had to trudge all the way back for the i-squeak. The things we do for our dogs!!! I would like to order a couple more with the next order if that's OK, seeing as I'll have an extra mouth to feed, and mind to entertain Hmmmmm, didn't anyone tell you about rentals in Perth? Massive shortage. Overpriced. What area are you looking in?

From memory, you are insured with the same insurer as me and I feel the same, never hesitate to consult a vet if concerned about the slightest thing. CavNRott, that is one expensive year for you!!!! I would need to take out credit if something like that happened to me!! In 4 years of having an insured dog, I have claimed about $8000. No savings plan would have covered that. Prior to that, I had spent thousands on a rescue dog (no insurance) and he taught me well, bless him. I have a puppy coming shortly, and he will be insured before he even gets home.
-
Hehe, so you are going to be clean, cool and cheerfully blissful!

Gosh, it's so hard to tell! I guess it depends also on what they have been fed and how much they drink. My dog goes maybe 4 or 5 times a day (more often than me!) but then out on walks he manages a good amount every tree we stop at. I have to tell him to save some for the next tree I'm surprised dogs can always find some pee to mark a territory

Brand! I do think that wee Corgi is just beautiful though, is that one of yours Mim?
-
Holy heck! What has happened to your lab in the last 2 years???!!! Well you'd hope not to have the same experience as KJ above!!! I do have pet insurance and wouldn't be without it.
-
Adorable! I have to wait until the first week of October for my little Goldie puppy ..... but he will be worth it
-
Oh Mim, those puppy pics made my heart melt! My very first dog (not really mine but he attached himself to me, and he chose a night I was close by to die ) was a Corgi so I will always have a soft spot for them. Those pics are just adorable!
-
OMG!!! That is Ruby???? She was very adorable but she even has a double chin there! Kyzer was SO tiny!!!! That is amazing, smaller than my kittens have been I think! Mas81, I am guessing Mason's size in that pic with you will be about what I end up with in 6 weeks time ..... that's a pretty big puppy

That's great to hear it went well CC Dougal offers his non threatening body language anytime if it helps!
-
Aaaawwww, all the puppies look too cute! :D

The separation from Prada will also have affected Happy and his demeanour. If you do end up sending Prada to China, maybe do not feed him for the day before. Is there only one company that ships animals to China? You can't use another company? Nice to hear Happy is settling in and getting lots of love and attention
-
Is that Ruby puppy??? No wonder they use them in ads! You can have a (Goldie) puppy fix soon enough

Try putting a little honey in his water, it will keep his energy levels up. Also due to the change in climate, make sure he is as cool as possible, coat well brushed and maybe wet his paws and tummy?
-
No, you can order as many as you would like I think. Hesa, any word on an eta?
-
That's great! Love all the tricks and you have some fabulous shots of Maizy in there

Poor thing, it sounds like he may have had a stressful time travelling. I would just leave him with his water and let him find his way around his new surroundings for at least a few hours. If he is not eating by morning, then a vet visit would be worth it. Dogs are generally very adaptable, some just need more time than others. Thinking more as I write this, it wouldn't hurt for him to be checked over by a vet after such a stressful time, and also to make sure he hasn't picked something up along the way

That is such a beautiful tribute, and I had to reach for the box of tissues myself Goldens just weave their way into your heart all too easily. You know they say when we lose such a treasured pet, they are making room for another

As for dog beaches here in WA, yes of course people without dogs can stroll along a beach that allows dogs but where these beaches join each other (as they all do) there are signs that say 'No Dogs Beyond This Point' yada yada yada .... There's a million dogs on the dog beach and none on the non dog beach - well, it kinda shows the dog owners are respecting non doggy people and their choice to attend a dog free beach ..... but when you get people strolling along a dog beach where there are a lot of dogs - and they complain - well tough! There's way too many beaches here to choose from. People like that are just out to complain no matter what the circumstances Mind you, I haven't struck anyone who has complained about dogs on a dog beach here ...... so this is all OT!!! Sorry!

Don't take it personally, they don't know you
