Good Quality Cheap Weight Loss Kibble
Golden Rules replied to MooBoo's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have used Bonnie Light (about $40 for a 20kg bag so it lasts forever) with great success, along with cooked pumpkin (and I didn't skimp on the pumpkin) - was great for getting weight off a dog before and after his cruciate knees were done. Veges are good as they have little calorific value for a dog, but they are filling (eg cooked pumpkin) so the dog doesn't feel like he is being starved. Also, don't feed what the packet says - probably half that, and the rest should be some veg. -
How old is the dog? He might whine if he needs to go to the toilet :p I guess if this is your first night, you will soon find out! If it's an older dog, he may be fine with being toileted last thing and again first thing and not need to go in the middle of the night. He may also not be used to sleeping in a bed and might prefer a piece of the floor somewhere - just leave him be, he will work it out in time. Just go about your usual routine and the dog will soon settle down into your routine.

I don't think Mason is a threat to anyone's dogs unless they have a suppressed immune system (according to google anyway) I will have to be cafeful with my puppa while he's young and his immune system isn't fully developed.... but I don't know if there would be any young puppies at Ella's birthday party??

Well done Millie!!! :( She's a clever little sausage that one I got GR puppy cuddles today at Riverside - one purebred GR and one GR x BC - just getting in some practice before I get my puppy :p

When my male was desexed, he was kept quiet for a day and then he decided he was fine He was pretty much back to regular 'duties' within a week but nothing over the top obviously. He had soluble stitches too from memory ..... that was about 3 years ago now. Recently had a male kitten desexed, it was back to normal programming with him pretty much straight away. It's so much easier on males!!!

Poor Tobes! He is lucky he has such a good owner and handler

When you live or have lived close to the city, you would consider Canning Vale a long commute!! It used to take me 7 minutes in my car to get to work when I worked in the city. If I lived at Canning Vale and wanted to drive, I think the commute would be 45 minutes in peak hour. No thanks! Thanks Ness, I will give Ptolomy a little grace then

Yes, I'll have to make sure I get down there - and also bring some odds and ends :champagne:

Oh you lucky ducks! Cottesloe will be wonderful, beach every day in summer!! There's a dog beach at Leighton just down the road too I can't believe we haven't got any Toller baby pics. I have waited patiently all day and not said a word ..... now I'm tapping fingers and feet!

I'm such a goose!! The 4th of September is Dougal's birthday!!! But I don't normally make a big deal of it (hence I have only just remembered - usually I forget ) so Miss Ella will be 1 and Dougal will be an old man (8)

I have that Solvit ramp. Bought it on ebay a few weeks ago for $159, which was very cheap. Brand new. The seller had six of them. There's usually another seller who has them for between $199 and $209. Only problem is my dogs won't use it. Wow, that is cheap! I had to train my dog to use the ramp. Food, food and more food did it Now I just say 'Into the car' and he's up

I looked at those and while I love the ease of storage for it, my old fella couldn't use one, he has no power in his read end to get the back legs off the ground. It's too high for him to just step onto, he'd have to 'hop' onto it and that is why we use a ramp ;) It will depend on the dog obviously, as to what will suit best.

Pet Insurance....when Do You Claim?
Golden Rules replied to Bluefairy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think you should be asking all these questions of your insurer as it will depend on your history and your policy. ;) -
Anywhere in the inner suburbs from Mosman Park to Mount Lawley NOR and a similar stretch on the other side. Cheers amypie , I'm trawling the sites everyday...went to see somewhere in Nedlands yesterday that they want $1000 p/w for and the ceiling in the bathroom was literally black with mold Nedlands is one of 'the' suburbs, no surprise what they want for rent there. Depends on what you want to pay for rent but Vic Park / Carlisle / Lathlain / Rivervale are all close to the city (and the airport and freeway and everywhere really ) and you are likely to find something reasonable there for around $350 to $500 a week.

Do we even have any guys in the WA thread? Yeah, ncarter pops in occasionally but I think he swings the other way doesn't he?

Oh, OK!!!! So down the freeway, get off at Rowley, right onto De Haar Rd or get off at Anketell and left onto Lyon then right onto De Haar? Which is easier? I know the freeway would be quicker ..... Do people really live out in the stix?? I'll be there though
