  1. OMG, I will never forget when my dog worked out what would happen at the end of a track (ie food), and in this instance, saw where the person was standing and took off a warp speed with poor old me trying to keep up. Yes, waaaaaay less than desirable!!
  2. Turners Pet Store at Tuggerah Thank you, I just wondered if it might have been a national store.
  3. Speak with your vet and find out if they have had any parvo cases there lately .... especially if that is where you are going for puppy classes. My breeder isn't too keen for me to take my puppy to the vet puppy classes and recommended an alternative. I did check with my vet though and they haven't had a case of parvo for 18 months.
  4. Are you home to receive them? Most parcels are delivered to your door but you'll find that when you're not home, you have to go and collect from the post office if it's too large to leave. They should just chuck it over the back gate for the dogs, it's for them anyway Yip they deliver after 5, so we are always here to get them I was bad and ordered 2 things off Dstore!! Bad Ptolomy ;) I can't wait to pick him up Mas!! And yes, VERY bad Ptolomy I ordered a couple of things as well :p .... and I just got back from City Farmers ..... with another armload of stuff. Where does it end?! My post office courier guy always comes before 1pm, usually fairly early in the morning in fact ..... I am always picking up parcels from the post office .... they know me by name now
  5. Let me think about it ........ ummmmmm...... Nup. Ooooh, dont tell anyone, but I have thought about that ... ;) But I think I might end up needing a foster carer if I did that though. ;) What did you feed him? I would like to order some in a bottle. Just in case I need it in the future. ;) I know! If she could bottle it, Bub would make a fortune! :D
  6. Carlisle and I bet it was for a Doler too - or at least a person who reads DOL if they aren't a member :D Hurries off to D Store!
  7. I can't hear that as I don't have sound at work ..... but I do have a babble ball on the way over from Clean Run .... is that where you got yours Tiggy? I was at the post office picking up a bix box from Clean Run the other day andthere was another big box from Clean Run there too, I almost pointed to it and said 'that one too', then I wondered if it belonged to another doler in my area It wasn't for me anyway Clean Run must be flat out right now with such a good exchange rate.
  8. In all seriousness deelee, I think you should foster another Goldie and see where that took you :D Nothing permanent ;) Noooooo, not permanent at all ..... Bub, I don't think I know of a Goldie where the owners are so besotted with it. Your dogs are so darn lucky!! I will leave you my dogs in my will okies?
  9. I think if you got TWO Goldens deelee, hubby's heart would melt faster :D Here, show him this little one :D
  10. I have surveyors tape and bamboo stakes ..... and a tracking lead ...... and some wet weather gear ..... and gumboots(navy with thin yellow stripes ) ..... and hiking boots (ladies size 9) ..... and short markers with tape ......and probably more stuff if I looked. It will all go within the next few months (before Xmas) if anyone is interested!
  11. I am, I am!!! I should have him in my arms by 11am. I probably could have picked him up earlier but I figure this will be my last sleep in for ....... well for a long time anyway! :D
  12. She is just beautiful emery! I have an irresponsible neighbour 1 door down and he has a Rotti pup about the same size/age as yours. The poor dog doesn't get walked and my next door neighbours have taken to walking the dog (obviously not used to a lead and has had no discipline) but he is a very funny boy, he puts his paws over the fence, right up to his elbows and just stands there checking everything out. It does look sweet but I dread to think what will become of this puppy. :D thankyou oh no poor rotti pup bet he pulls like a train. kealri will pull but not hard as i want her to enjoy the lead and to run with me for shows but trianing is a must. both mine will hang over the fence to check things out they love it especially wehn the neighbours cuddle them lol. rottis are very fast learners and normally very food motivated. i hope they learn to take notice of their family member as rotti's are very much family dogs i see him ending up in the pound though ;) plz keep me updated if that looks like happening and i will see what i can do ;) Yes, I will let you know if the dog's outlook becomes bleak(er). It's an Indian or Sri Lankan guy that owns this dog, and it's shelter is an old car in the carport. One of the back doors is tied open to one of the carport poles. I'm assuming he has the dog for 'security' purposes On a brighter note, I only have 3 days to go before I pick up my little bundle of mischief.

  14. I used Catnets for my enclosure. It was expensive but I am happy with it. Rach, if your cat only goes out under supervision and the neighbours cat is often roaming in your yard, maybe see if the council has a trap you can borrow? Catch the neighbours cat and let the pound deal with it? Might make them think twice, although it is extremely difficult to change a person's thinking about cats. Poor wee Buddy, I hope he is OK too.
  15. I have a tracking lead for sale if anyone is interested? Brand new, never been used Well, it was taken out of the packet and used once at the park as a long lead but that was it. In fact I must go through all my doggy stuff as I am sure I have way too much .....
  16. Yes, the playground was only installed there about 2 years ago and that was the beginning of the end of Riverside for the dogs.
  17. It's current but not new. The group was formed a couple of years ago when they first started talking about it. I get emails from them occasionally. It's one of those things that WILL happen, sooner rather than later. The silly thing is, people will find somehwere else to go with their dogs and the proposed cafe won't do as well as they expect. They know it's a very popular place but that's because the dogs have access to the river! I wish there was CCTV from the carpark to catch the lazy buggers who don't pick up after their dogs.
  18. Any pet insurer who pays 100% of the bill also charges a $100 excess, unlike insurers who pay out 80%, and who don't charge an excess at all. So things like ear infections, hotspots etc, a vet visit won't be much more than $100 if that, which means you aren't going to get much back if anything, if you are required to pay a $100 excess. However if your insurer pays out 80%, you get to claim on every vet visit and get most of your money back. You need to work out the sort of cover that will suit you best. It's horses for courses.
  19. Does your RSPCA cover include accident and illness or only accident and what's the annual premium like? I will check them out tomorrow anyway. Thanks for that They have an option for accident and illness which is what I always have. My older dog costs about $500 per annum and the puppy will be about $460 per annum if I decide to go with RSPCA again. That is for their top cover option of 80%. The best alternative I have found is PIA and their premium would be around $370 per annum with $100 excess per condition.
  20. I have one dog with RSPCA Insurance (4 years now, and they have paid out close to $10,000 to date) and the puppy will be with either RSPCA or Pet Insurance Australia .... different types of policies but one is a puppy and the other is an older dog, so trying to decide which would be most appropriate. I did do a comparison of about 8 of the most common/popular pet insurance companies and PIA was up there with RSPCA.
  21. Aww, poor Millie A little bit of stage fright. I went to Piney Lakes this morning .... I don't think I'll ever be able to go back. Firstly Sh*thead decided to leave the park and visit some neighbouring homes. Got him back and we walked on the footpath furtherest away from the road/houses but he decided to go for a swim. By the time we caught up with the dogs, they were both swimming round and round in the duck pond. Leashed them again, chatted for a while longer and let them off again, Sh*thead instantly took off at a rate of knotts to the other side of the lake and had another swim with more ducks before deciding to return. :D He was so exhausted afterwads that he put himself to bed when we got home and I haven't seen him since. Probably just as well.
  22. Gosh Lincoln has grown so much!! And he really is a handsome boy, beautiful! I can't wait to see him again actually, he wasn't much more than a pokey little puppy last time I saw him
  23. Such sad news Flick, I am so sorry for you and your family. Rest easy now Hugo.
