No, that's the PROPER cheat's way :D I prefer the flakey pastry version but if I were to make it again myself, I think I would use the lattice biscuits. Infact, I might even give it a go this week

Oops didn't see this when I made my previous reply Just for the record, I'm a shocking cook! But I can 'bake' simple things. These are vanilla slices made with lattice biscuits (not pastry sheets) and I made the custard out of custard powder (shock horror!), cream, milk, vanilla essence, cornflour, sugar and egg yolks. I am surprised my first attempt sorta worked out But I'm sure the good bakers, like Amy, would make it so much better! Aahhh! The cheat's way My friend used to use those biscuits as well .... it all comes down to the Creme Patisserie then Sounds like you have it down pat!

Mim, yes Clean Run orders take 2 to 3 weeks and never any problems with their orders, pretty good considering I placed an order with PetSuperSavers in Qld on the 2nd Sept, they took my money on the 3rd Sept, no response to my emails until I threatened to go to Fair Trading, then the two responses I have had are very rude and STILL no goods have been received! They could take a leaf out of Clean Run's book! No brownies left, but I do have vanilla slices I made that I will bring along Do you make your own Vanilla Slices?!! I'm impressed seing as you make out you aren't such a good cook ..... do you make your own custard as well? I tried years ago making these and what a disaster!

Well done!!! I hope they offer a further discount on the free shipping items or maybe add more items to their free shipping list! Hang on, I have done 4 Clean Run orders in the last 8 weeks I don't think I need more

This was mentioned to me this morning and suggested I do it with Paddle Pop. Where did you get the info CBR? My connections. I asked Jules last night and she called over the lady that organizes it all and I was in. I think enrolement is on Tuesday and apparently they still have some places left in the class I'd like to do the puppy agility with Yoshimi but she wouldn't be joining till next year. I just found the info on ACWA and have emailed them for more info. November would be the earliest I could start and quite frankly, once the weather warms up and the mozzies come out, I tend to lose interest Will see what is involved first. I'm just in it for fun and building the bond with puppa.

That shows the difference between an educated dog owner and an uneduacated dog owner. There's heaps of the latter out there, far more so than the former. It also shows how other people value their pets, ie to what degree. Some would be most attentive and careful, others would just think 'bugger' or 'oh well' sort of thing if their pet was hit by a car or bitten by a snake. So where is this lovely area you speak of? I am always looking for nice places to walk .... you can PM me if you don't want the whole world to know about it

hehe Wazza, you have to write your bits outside of the quotes .... but I know it gets a bit confusing if there are a lot of quotes within a quote

I did exactly that. This big framed Goldie whose coat had fallen out due to malnutrition and was only 22 kg, ballooned to 36 kg within months on a diet that also included a bowl of ice cream every time I had one Then I found DOL. -
I still can't do this... You just click on 'quote' at the bottom of each post you want to quote, and then click on 'add reply' at the bottom of the page and voila! You quote multiple posts!

YES an old man ( mid Eighties with Ultra attitude!!) had a go and tried to quote laws to me!! BIG mistake! Told him and quoted all council laws relating to dogs and the Dog Act!! BUT Still he insisted! So I politely told him to call Council! THEN I spied a Ranger vehicle ...so being the ever helpful person I am I said " There is a Ranger would you like me to get them for you so they can ban us and our dogs from the city?" He turned and said . . . . . . . PISS OFF! I was STUCK for words, !! Had Rach and Shannon in stiches!! Never again will I try to help someone!! lol ;) Grumpy old men!! :D Poor bugger, he's probably as miserable as sin and deservedly so ;)

If I Buy A Fox Tail From Clean Run...

My cats LURRRRVE the foxtails! So does the puppa - the big dog chewed one up straight away so he doesn't get them anymore. -

One thing I learnt was not to be too soft with a dog just because you may be aware of it's background. (Just something to keep in mind) Even though you may feel so very sorry for Jackson, he will love you more if you start with some obedience so he knows the boundaries - this is what will make him happy, along with good food and family time -

Hey mgeyer Firstly, well done for taking this dog in, what a miserable life he has had to date, I hope he has many happy years with you and your family now. Secondly, while this may not be much help, but will give you some hope .... my first rescue dog was a Golden Retriever - about 8 years old, starved, fleas, mange, ear infections, not desexed, etc etc I could go on. He got all the medical and health issues sorted and we started training, and from there he flourished. No matter how old the dog, he is never too old to learn. Your new dog will benefit greatly from basic obedience (as will your family) and will set you on the right path. I was amazed at my old neglected and mistreated boy, how quickly he came round to being the most happy, well behaved dog with such a wonderful nature even after everything he had been through. As for food and making his coat shiny .... that may take some months. Just give him good quality food and some fish oil capsules. Bit of trial and error is involved in working out what will work best for the dog. Good luck, and how about some photos?!
