  1. Aaaaw, boxagirl, your two look just adorable!
  2. After Mim put up the link to the Pet Chef yesterday, I did an online order. A couple of hours later the guy rang me because he said he recognised I was a new customer and just wanted to go through my order. I ordered bits of everything :D He wanted to know what animals I had, who was getting what and if I was feeding them anything else. He was very nice, very knowledgeable, and very helpful :D He also mentioned for my area, that delivery would be Wednesday. If this works out and the stuff he provides is good, I'll never have to go shopping for cat and dog food ever again! Thanks Mim
  3. Interesting!!! So in some areas you could get away with a month or two of treatment only (eg hottest parts of summer) and not worry for the rest of the year?!
  4. Green honeycomb tripe? I got as far as the green honeycomb and thought 'YUM' then totally lost interest when I came across tripe! LOL! No idea what it is but it sounds awful eta I think it's sheeps stomach isn't it?
  5. You have awesome dog park people! The ones at the park I sometimes go to near my parent's house is just full of old grumpy farts with their small precious dogs and give me evils that are willing me to leave, even though my big ferocious Labs don't go anywhere near their little ones who do come and pester mine while we're training! I don't let them run me out of there anymore because I have better control over my dogs than they do of theirs and I am entitled to be there just as much as them and their daily meetup group ;) Yes we are lucky, we have a great group of people at our local - it's a lovely tree lined sports field, not really a dog park so not enclosed, it's just that is where everyone comes with their dogs. And no dog is perfect either by any means, but we all know we have to manage our dogs so that everyone else can enjoy the park. On the whole though, all the owners and dogs are relaxed and we all get on well. One couple is getting married this weekend and some of us are going to the wedding!
  6. Our local dog park group are having a fish and chip night tomorrow night ..... we usually do them throughout summer but we haven't even got throught Spring yet! Will need to take jumpers and mozzie spray
  7. Aaaw, sorry I can't make MillieMoos party I have puppy training in the morning - all the way down near Forrestdale! Hope Millie has a special day though!!!!!
  8. The little birds (I have one of each) are tough little buggers. I play fetch with mine and they have been chewed to buggery as well, still going strong though
  9. My puppy is a few days over 10 weeks old. He just had his second vaccination a couple of days ago. The reason he had his second vaccination so young was because his breeders gave him the first vaccination at 6 weeks, and I believe it IS important to have the second one done 4 weeks later. I believe the immunity from the first vaccination starts to drop after 4 weeks, which is why vets recommend 4 weeks spacers between vaccinations. I have done a lot of research (in the last few weeks particularly) regarding vaccinations and emailed Jean Dodds for her opinion as well. Because my puppy is only having the 2 vaccination regime, he is now finished until he gets his 12 monthly booster, thereafter it will be every 3 years until age 8. I may have him titre tested in another 5 weeks just out of interests sake. Re the puppy classes, mine started at 8 weeks for one lot and 9 weeks for the other (I'm taking him to two different classes). One is outside (trainer's back yard) and the other is inside (vet clinic). It is a calculated risk sometimes as to where you take your puppy, but the socialisation is hugely important between weeks 8 to 12, so I take a few risks. I also have another dog and between us we could be walking in all sorts of bugs etc from the local dog parks etc ..... so Best of luck with your puppy fuzzy! ;)
  10. Well I'm a bit soft ..... if the temp is forecast to go over 34 degrees, I leave the aircon on at home while I am out. It's usually set to 25 degrees or thereabouts so not freezing inside but certainly more pleasant than outside. If you have curtains drawn and a ceiling fan on, I reckon your doggies would be fine kja! I have friends in Karratha who leave their dogs in the laundry which is airconditioned!
  11. I have my dogs on the sofa - always have a cotton quilt cover over it though and it gets washed regularly. Otherwise get yourself a bean bag and sit on that (lot closer to the dogs on the floor) Bolt has to be the most handsome puppy here yet!! He is adorable! I think I'd like to swap!! Great name for a BT too!
  12. I have some video of Paddy with his babble ball, he tries to talk back to it - not a proper bark but more of a squeaky bark :D It's too long to upload to FB though :D
  13. Yeah it does, it's not too irritating at all as far as squeaky toys go! I have a couple of them and the cats kinda get interested in them as well as the dogs :D
  14. Yip I rushed off to the park over the road thinking that its going to rain any second - that was over 2hrs ago ;) I thought u were at work this week? I like the sound of those tags. Just doing 4 or 5 hours a day. Rain went through here a while back ..... bit of thunder too! All quiet now. Good on you Rach, that was lovely thing to do It will make a big difference, probably more than you really know! Well done!
  15. I just ordered a couple of nice dog tags from Urban Puppy. Dougal's one has 'Obedience School Drop-Out' on it Paddy's has 'Fetch Junkie' on it (I have hopes anyway! :D ) It's trying so hard to rain outside and I am trying so hard to get off my bum and do the vacuuming Instead, think I'll just go make a cuppa
  16. The unit attached to the kennel is refrigerated, not evaporative. I'm pretty sure no one up that way has evap aircon, because they all know it doesn't work in high humidity :D You put the water bowl in the cool kennel! I think it's fantastic what you have done and unless you have lived in such horrid heat, day in day out all season, then you couldn't be expected to understand.
  17. There's breeders here on DOL who do just that!
  18. OMG! Our dogs went to the same school! :p Both came out with the same results too! Good luck for the vets and hope Cody keeps improving
  19. I think Ptolomy was the favourite for this, pretty much everyone agreed. Maybe you could PM her for her details (and don't take no for an answer! )
  20. Ooooh, I love a bit of bling! Those collars look great! Shame I have such hairy dogs that you can't even tell if they are wearing a collar or not :D
  21. Hey Lofty Try a little honey in some milk or water and see if he will take that? Best wishes for tomorrow and hope Cody bounces back soon!
  22. I'm happy to out them....Moore River Boarding Kennels, Cowalla, WA The nomination sounds like a good idea too....how do I go about that??? My back....OMG.....would you believe I stretched in bed (in a motel in Ballina, NSW) waking up on Thursday, felt a sharp pain in my shoulder and then lay there unable to move while the pain spread through my back......I was lying there wondering how on earth I was going to get up, when the baby started crying....OH woke up and I said "can you just see to her...I can't move!" took two neurofen and an hour of genttle wiggling to get out of bed, then a further 20 minutes under a hot shower before i could do anything. I'm improving though....it's an ongoing issue sadly. Sorry OT!!!! OK, well that's a tad far ..... mind you if I was holidaying up that way it might be worth keeping in mind! :D Bugger about your back :D
  23. I think you need to out them so we all know who they are! I rather like the sound of a kennel with such personalised service and small kennels as well Hope you feel better soon! How did you stuff your back?
  24. I have seen dog owners drag their dogs on when the dog tries to stop and poo .... I think that is unkind and shows a lack of understanding of a dog.
