  1. Oh shite!! That pic is just gorgeous!! And congratulations Emery!!
  2. I order from the Pet Chef and he leaves the frozen stuff at my front door in one of those polystyrene boxes from the supermarket. I still have to thaw everything a little so I can freeze it in smaller bags. So they provide the polystyrene box do they? I might do an order then. I can always ask my Dad to pop around my place during the day and stick it in the freezer or in my garage out of the sun Nope, I get the polystyree boxes from the supermarket for free and leave it at the front door. Pet Chef man comes along and fills it up. I have one of those boxes if anyone needs one, got mine when I did Lite N Easy. You should grow strawberries in it! Or herbs! They are also fantastic to fill with ice and plonk your drinks in at a BBQ

  5. Humans have lots of foreign bodies in them too (screws, plates, pacemakers, stents ....) but I'm not sure they cause cancer. I'd rather microchip than vaccinate any day.
  6. I have to say, the forest was beautiful and I loved the fact it was so cool. Jenna looks like she is right onto a scent there! :D
  7. Plus most of the time is spent laying tracks for others and then your dog is out the car for maybe 15 mins in 3 hours... It is also really hard to practice unless you have someone to lay tracks for you. I have a long lead, a whole heap of short marker(flags) plus bamboo sticks and 3 rolls of surveyor tape. Plus I have some Size 8 to 8 1/2 hiking boots which I have been meaning to put on ebay - only worn a couple of times for a couple of hours each time! I was right into the tracking for the first few weeks and loved it but the novelty wore off quickly ... especially when I ended up taking home a dog that wasn't the least bit tired after we set off at 7.15am and got home 4 or 5 hours later. Long way to go for a long time and your dog only gets a couple of 15 minute runs in that time. I will give retrieving a go I think when Paddy is bigger. Every dog can track, just the very fact they have such sensitive noses mean they can do it easily! It's just the owner training them 'how' to track Jenni's friend with the SWF had great success!
  8. Mason is a I'm feeling like a loser right now So I come home and start cooking some sausages for dog treats and think I will have one for lunch in a roll with some onions and sauce. I'm just about to sit down on the sofa with lunch on a plate, and Paddy piddles. So I put the plate down next to the sofa, grab a towel and mop up, and I turn around to see Paddy on the sofa with my sausage in a roll in his mouth, wolfing it down I go to make another one, and this time I get to sit down and take a bite, only to find the sausages taste 'off' and the bread roll isn't fresh anyway! I can't get it out of my mouth quick enough :D So Dougal got that one. I ended up with a tomato sandwich :p
  9. Tiggy, you'd need a second mortgage to board all your dogs!
  10. Well that was a waste of time asking here. I guess you could assume the lack of responses meant no one knows anything about those kennels. Don't take it personally, most people are more wrapped up with their own dogs and goings on :D
  11. I wouldn't worry. He's obviously had a fair bit of salt water and he's just getting it all out of his system. Bit of a cleanout :D
  12. Such an awful day for you Moselle :D You did the right thing by Sophie in taking your vet's advice. She will be resting easy now. I lost my first Golden to cancer suddenly as well, I didn't expect to leave the vets without my dog either. Heart wrenching, I so feel for you.
  13. Paddy took to the water today - he swam like a duck! :D I so wish I had taken the camera with me. He is now curled up next to me on the sofa in the land of nod ... which is where I'm headed after the whole house was woken at 5am by some puppy
  14. I dont know why they do it, but having worked in the financial sector businesses hardly ever do anything that puts them out of pocket - thats just my opinion though. I think you are quite right! And it's a business so 'losses' are written off in tax ... all swings and roundabouts - and all good promotion for the company!
  15. That's a classic story!! I have a couple of babble balls - the talking one has recently died after someone somehow got it wet (drool or pee or something) but yes it used to talk on it's own accord as well, although I never felt threatened by it The animal sounds one is SO loud, I have shut it in another room so if it does go off in the night, it can't get out I won't hear it. :p
  16. I have a very popular breed of dog but just because he is a darker colour than everything else you see, I have people asking me constantly "what breed is he?" When I say Golden Retriever, they ask "Oh, what is he crossed with?" :D Ignorance is bliss apparently!
  17. Nah, you're safe, I couldn't be bothered stalking anyone! ;) That is weird that NZ featured in it .... do do do do do do do do (spooky music ;) )
  18. Mim, totally OT but I had a dream about you the other day! We were walking past a house in NZ (on the street I grew up on) and there was a couple of Corgis out the front of one house. Someone said it was called Daina and I said 'Oh is the other one called Mim?' They said yes so I have a lightbulb moment and go "Oh, so that's where Mim lives!" So weird and random hey??!! :D You'd think it was because I was spending too much time on DOL but actually I don't even have internet access at home now and so only catch up briefly occasionally at work. My little Paddy Pop got roughed up last night by a huge Newfoundland. He seems fine though, happy enough to trot around with a couple of Bernese Mountain dogs aftewards thankfully. Puppies are like babies, they add grey hairs to your head :D
  19. I think they went and had it already I have a couple of weeks off over Xmas and NY so will likely head to the beach most mornings if it's hot. Otherwise the river. Can't wait!
  20. I'm another who has placed an order, not yet received after previously having recieved orders within a couple of days. I have called so fingers crossed all will be good!
  21. Aaawww, Simple, BeaBea is beautiful! You'll have BeaBea and Bolt! I can just imagine the hijinx!
  22. Oh, shame! :D Paddy is BIG! LOL! He is now jumping up onto the sofa and getting into trouble :D God he's adorable though, he has learnt everything so quickly, he is so smart! I'm amazed! I'll be back at Riverside next weekend, probably both Saturday and Sunday as we have our last Puppy Class this weekend. I have to say, Carolyn Read's Train-A-Pup-Time classes are fantastic. That woman really knows her stuff and she is brilliant with dogs and people. Can't recommend her highly enough!
