  1. Well done MM You deserved your Danish, that's for sure!
  2. Lovely dogs, and fantastic photos!!!
  3. I tried that, the tiniest amount was enough to put them all off the water Colloidal Silver might be a better option actually as that kills bugs and can be a good immune booster!
  4. I have a large ceramic water bowl outside (in full shade) and it gets green too - I think it's the dogs saliva as well! It sits under a tap, so I just turn the tap on when the water gets a bit low, and it doesn't get a clean out as often as the water bowl inside (which doesn't go green). My cats also use the outside water bowl but not so much the inside one, so maybe it's them too, who knows?
  5. My cats eat on the bench in the Laundry, or the table outside and I always remove the dogs when the cats are eating. Cat food bowls are never on the ground. One dog guards his buried bones from the cats to the point he sat outside in the rain all night until 4am. This is an inside dog! So cats and dogs are separated here at feeding times. You may just need to put dog outside for the short time it takes the cats to feed or feed the cats in a different room to where the dog is. Tethering your dog would be OK as long as it wasn't for long and you weren't far away.
  6. Sorry to read such sad news Rest in peace forever Kato
  7. Hi BonJosie VERY cute little puppa! Yes, well Pudding will be an unusual name, you wouldn't expect to hear anyone else calling their dog that so if we hear someone calling out "here Pudding Pudding Pudding", we'll know it's you! Friends have called their new Maine Coon kitten 'Tea Leaf', so Pudding isn't perhaps that bad
  8. Hey MW! I found when I was on crutches, that a small office chair was great to get around the house really quickly on and also if you needed to carry anything when no one else was around. The Occupational Therapist from the hospital should also be able to help you with other things if needed too. Hope you heal quickly and are back on two legs soon!
  9. Oh that's awful But how does he know which dogs actually did it if he didn't see them? I think it should be reported to the council because it is a ranger issue if there are dogs wandering.
  10. No, lack of supervision and ignoring a very basic rule about dogs, kids and food got that child bitten. Clearly you've never owned a resource guarder siks. Count your blessings that you haven't but don't kid yourself for a moment that its down to your superior training. It's got nothing to do with what you call superior training. It's basic puppy manners and maintaining pack rank. If you can't control the potentially bad behaviors of your dog you are asking for trouble and you are an irresponsible dog owner. Imagine if you have a dog that does guard food and I am a parent and kids do slip away some time. Then the kid goes and plays with the dogs bowl and the child does get bitten. It is your fault for not addressing the issue. I agree a dog should not be disturbed while eating or sleeping but the animal should not bite a human if and when it does happen. It's a matter of MANAGING the issue rather than simply addressing it. I have a dog who resource guards his food - fiercely. I visited the breeders when the puppies were 5 weeks old and have a video of this 5 week old puppy resource guarding the toys from the other puppies. And it was a small litter of just 3 puppies. So I am sure part of it at least is genetic.
  11. Sometimes Bub, children need to learn to play on their own. When I refuse Paddy, he goes off to find Dougal - who lies on the floor while Paddy jumps all over him and 'plays' with him, eventually he gets bored and goes and lies down What about doggy daycare a couple of days a week? That would wear her out no end!
  12. I saw this on the news tonight. It's very sad, I go there at least once a week in my lunchbreak. The staff were all great people.
  13. So was the answer forthcoming? Because I still can't quite work out if there is a limit or not, or if it depends on an application to the Shire
  14. No, didn't see him either! It's hard when you are trying to keep an eye on your own dogs while they are all running amok! Cute puppies bedazzled!!! Which one?
  15. Was it mostly black? And about the size of a small Kelpie? Coz that's the only other pup I saw, not a purebred ACD pup. One of the puppy schools we went to had an ACD pup, she was very ...... spirited! no this one was a purebred ACD Oh, well no, didn't see it. If you are coming down tomorrow, come say hi!! I would love a proper introduction to Bear, rather than a scrambled mess of half a dozen dogs!

  17. I saw you ;) sorry I didn't stop to chat but it was a bit hectic where you were Was that little Bear that came running into all the dogs? I did wonder when I saw him but then I thought no, he would be bigger! He was tiny! And that was pretty rude of you not to say Hi! We don't bite you know! We will be back there tomorrow morning as well ;) ooooo i wonder if the rotti was an import as there are no bob tail litters in wa that i am aware of It was quite clear this beautiful pup had had his tail docked (to me anyway, not like any bobtail I have ever seen). The owners looked like bogans, were not very social people, and also had a beautiful entire Mastiff with them ..... as well as a couple of other dogs. I find it weird when people let their dogs interact but they never interact themselves. Anyway, we will be back there tomorrow, I might take a chair and a beer, sit with the bogans
  18. So glad I do not have to deal with snakes! I don't think I could do it at all We had a lovely morning at Riverside Gardens with friends this morning. Paddy was playing with their 5 month old Whippet and 10 month old black lab, there was also a Rotti pup with it's tail docked, and of course we had lots of other dogs come up to join in. My boys are now totally out to it under the airocn. That means the rest of the day to myself
  19. Cute hey Tiggy! I have 2 cats and 2 dogs sprawled the same way right now All yours ST! :D
  20. I am contemplating it.... dunno how I would go with a little white dog, but i have searched and it appears they CAN do it.... They sure can! The few sessions I went to earlier this year, one of the newcomers had a small white fluffy, and she did REALLY well! Better than some of the gun dogs!! I have flags and markers here to give away if anyone wants them for tracking.
  21. My old Goldie woke me up in the middle of the night growling and barking differently to what I had ever heard him do before. I am quite sure we had a prowler and he was scared off by the dog. Dogs really are the best alarms
  22. Would you say the arrival of the hotspots has coincided with the arrival of the pool maybe?
  23. Too cute! What a good puppa! My dogs sleep in the bedroom so if they aren't already there by the time the lights go out, I just say 'Ny nys' and they follow me I have a flip video cam too, they are great wee things hey?!
  24. I would refuse to leave without my pets. Thankfully, I am not in an area where flood nor fire are a possibility.
