  1. This is normal puppy play and they should be allowed to play like this on and off throughout the day, BUT not all day, and not when you are trying to teach them. Remember that the pups are only babies.10 week old puppies have very short attention spans so no more than a few minutes training at a time. Food training is the best way to start such young ones. The only thing I train together is sitting nicely. EVERYTHING else is trained separately at this age. You will be amazed how quick they will learn to sit nicely if you give them treats, eg cooked chicken or cheese or sausage pieces,in very small pieces, Call them and Only give it, when they are sitting in front of you. If one sits that one get a treat. You said one pup is yours the other is for OH. So when play gets to rough both you and OH pick up a pup and hold it firmly but lovingly, pup will struggle at first but will clam down soon enough. DON'T let pup go until he/she has settled down and has laid in your arms a few minutes having a nice cuddle, this way you are teaching pup that you are the boss, that he can only go when you say. To train pups take them away from each other preferably out of sight. But remember only for a few minutes at a time they are still so young and food is the easiest way. Most of all enjoy your pups
  2. Ha Ha Is that the line he feed you/ :D :p He emptys the whole shelf into the trolley and when I go mad he puts two tins back and says "Does that make you feel better?"
  3. My daughters dog name is Shitani and she has once or twice called Shitty while running in agility :D He answers to Shitty at home but in agility
  4. Sounds like he has taught mum a fun new game of chase. :D I would try a raking the garden of what you can get rid of. Put plenty of toys out that you would like him to chew on around the yard. Instead of playing chase try to distract him with a squeaky toy or a ball. Make the things you want him to do or have be more fun than the thing you don't want him to have. Hope this helps
  5. We never had ticks for years but we did have trouble with fleas now we got rid of the fleas and we got ticks again. I guess it doesn't help that the cattle come right up to the fence now. :D Seems like you can't win.
  6. Well with a house full of BCs we did find the perfect solution. My OH cousin came to visit and brought one over as a gift. We liked it sooo much that my OH got on ebay and got some more. However we had to get it from the USA. Its a dog waterer that screws on to the tap and it has a lever the the dog licks and the water comes out I like it as the water never runs out and no mosquito's laver or toads to clean out. I think my OH paid about $15 US each Its called Lixit www.lixit.com Now if only they would stay outside after being in the pool I might have a dry floor/ couch or even bed sometimes
  7. I really want to do obedience and agility some time in the future with this new pup. does anyone know approximately how much it would cost to fly the pup from SE QLD to Townsville? I can't seem to get an accurate estimate Congratulations on your new puppy. We have a 36" crate which is ok for our small girl but most of our guys are more comfortable in the larger ones. We used Jet Pet, Dogtainers, Ozpets, Qantas and we have found that if you ring around and get quotes and let them know if someone will do it cheaper they will often drop their price too. We just had a BC pup (also red) come up from Brisbane to Mackay his flight cost me $140.00 the same company first quoted $185.00 http://www.dogs4sale.com.au/Freight_Transport.htm Look forward to seeing you down the track at Townsville obedience Club. We come up for there trials.
