Mine have not arrived either (but I have not checked the post box today). Does anyone know the ring layout? I know this show is always different to normal! Thanks.

Is That A Male Newf, I Want To Use Him To Breed
AshleyB replied to newfsie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Some people are amazing! I was blown away last week at the Sydney Royal Easter Show on Australian Shepherd day. I had my male Aussie on top of the trolley talking to the public as he loves people and this couple come up and ask me if he is available to stud. I gave them a funny look and let them keep talking. They went on to tell me they had a female Border Collie and they wanted to put an Australian Shepherd over her. I said a big "NO" and they continued to question me, in the end they told me they would keep asking around. I finally said to them "no one here (at the show) will agree to that". Do you think I could get it through their thick heads? Nope. The scarier thing is, I am sure they will find a male somewhere to put over their female, and yes again, another BYB in the making... -
Bench sizes vary from very large to very small. Most of the time you don't know what size you will have till you get there. Maybe try and phone them?

Champion Class- Should We Have A Seperate Class?
AshleyB replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in General Dog Discussion
I totally agree with this! I am not a breeder, nor do I have the time or space to continually have new younger dogs coming out to be shown hence why my Grand Champion (currently out of the ring due to being out of coat) is continually shown. He achieved his Grand at just 2 years old in a very competitive breed beating other Grands to do so. In regards to breeds with higher numbers and Ch/Grand Ch dogs, I have a young (9 month old) Border Collie at the moment who at just 9 months old is well over 1/2 way to his title. Judges will award young dogs if they see the quality there. I promise you in Border Collies he has NOT had any 6 point Ch/BOB's. This is also my very first Border Collie so I am not known in the Border Collie breed. It is possible be in rare breeds or not! -
Other Ways To Transport Puppy Home By Car Other Then A Crate?
AshleyB replied to Nadine83's topic in Puppy Chat
I agree with showdog. If there are two of you going to get your new puppy then why can't one of you drive and the other nurse the puppy, or sit in the back and encourage it to sleep on the seat/floor on a towel. Most puppies will just sleep for the trip, especially if in human contact. -
I sent you a PM when you first posted this last week and have had no reply. I am interested also.

They may be late as I know they were still taking entries on Saturday at Hillsborough.

If you are after a small and hardy breed that will love all the attention you can provide as well as get along well with children etc I would recommend a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I would ensure that you look around and contact breeders for the breed you decide before doing anything.

Is it really thou? I like the online process and use it when Im lazy but I def dont find it cheap especially when enterin 6 dogs I agree Nevafollo - I like the system and it is perfect for late entries! But I also find it much more expensive than posting entries, even just for one or two dogs. However, who are we to compain, so far there is NO club that makes you use Ozentries, you just have the added option.

Lovely babies! I want to wish Kristy (Dotty) the best of luck with Gossip at her debut weekend very shortly. She has huge shoes to fill! Another cute photo.

Posted by: "Tom Couchman" on OzShow The official 10.00am Bureau of Meteorology forecast for Penrith on Wednesday indicates a maximum temperature of 39 Degrees which places the Library & Archives Committee show under coverage of the Dogs NSW Extreme Weather Regulations (Part II - 19.1). Penrith Summary Min 22 Max 39 Possible shower. Becoming cloudy. The chance of showers in the afternoon and evening. Winds north to northwesterly averaging up to 20 km/h tending south to southwesterly up to 40 km/h during the afternoon The Committee Chairman Peter Nordstrom and Show Secretary Marilyn Parker have considered the forecast in detail and the prospect of rain in the afternoon and evening led them away from moving the show to the evening. The following changes/precautions have been decided: 1. The Show will commence at 7.30am with Sweepstakes (instead of 8.00am). 2. Shower hoses will be fitted to taps at strategic points around the grounds. 3. Judging will proceed without any meal break. I also remind exhibitors of the following Regulation 19.1.1 If, at any Show, an exhibitor considers that the heat conditions are or may be prejudicial to the comfort or welfare of their exhibit/s, they may leave the grounds immediately with no penalty or other consequence in relation to any award that may have previously been made at that show. Great Rugs (http://www.greatrugs.com.au/) are the best - they measured and made the thick canvas mats that are in each bay. I then put another bed on top, and in winter, or wet weather I will also put a piece of dry bed in to draw the moisture away. They are perfect and easily cleaned if needed.

Interesting you say that, now that I think of it, mine has not gone off either. Lucky I only had a PM show. What a bugger. I hope it is fixed soon, I live off my iphone alarm.

You will get far more replies if you have this topic moved into the Show Ring Forum! Good luck.

Diva... From memory I put mine in something also as to stop the clips catching. If you don't put to many in at a time they end up much cleaner than when they went in! And smell better too!!
-
Mine survived the washing machine, and the washing machine survived them!

I would follow breeders instructions.

At this point in time I think that is plenty of exercise for a large breed, especially while he is growing. I would focus more on games and training to tire him out mentally. You could begin teaching him basic obedience (if he doesn't already know it - sit, down, stand, stay, come) and also start teaching him tricks. This will allow you to interact with your puppy, and provide great mental stimulation for him. Good luck.

Totally agree Hesapandabear. Our guys get lots of extra's added to their dinner when we are around, but often away shows, or if we are away, they will be fed dry only with no problems. The think that appeals most to us is that it is now Australian made. I find that the dogs do very well on it, even with nothing added.

We feed it and love it. We alternate between Lamb and Chicken. Dogs do very well on it.
