:D alrighty, here are some piccies of some, not all of them (one brindle boy was hiding!) first up is an interesting one - girl - never thrown this colour in our line before am saying red/red smut but may go tiger brindle like her uncle? here's my two mirror image boys - pure white save for the eye patch on the left eye for one and the right eye for the other! My other white boy who goes for the clockwork orange look! My two white girls, both pure white and extremely alike in looks and build the whities two dark boys - there are 3 of them and one has markings uncannily like Sunny and with mum
-
Congrats Hannah
-
Just keep clinging to the dream Jackie .... if you build it, they will come And now, after reading your second post, I think I've just proved how spethal brindle owners are as well
-
OMG they're cute Snofyre! Congrats congrats also to sherayle - sorry about the stillborns. and Hannah - holy shite - my tiredness right now is NOTHING compared to how you're gonna be feeling soon - I think all dog breeders should start investing in coffee shares
-
and THAT is why brindles are so spethal
-
Another one for the good guys (we have to even up the balance of blacks - they get too cocky otherwise )
-
Yep. Not at all bias but so do I. I don't think you've lived until you've been touched by brindle
-
It literally pays to do your research and sort the wheat from teh chaff when it comes to breeders. Just because they are registered doesn't mean they are ethical.
-
sorry :D 6 boys, 3 girls Edited to retype numbers - Sunny's isn't the only brain affected by a baby!
-
because they are con artists who have managed to find the niche market of people unwilling to research the breed properly and are wanting to believe they are buying something 'rare'.
-
Well, so far we have 9 healthy babies, all averaging around the 260g so good weights for that sized litter. Sunny is such a good whelper, made it look very easy and is very busy cleaning at the mo. Colours are white, white pied and black/brindle with white markings. Very happy

Congrats to all new mums Still no news here yet!

Congrats jerojath, excellent news and LOVE the timing Regarding Irish names, if you have any reddish coloured pups, Cu Rua (pron: Koo Roo-a) means "red dog". Apart from that you've got the classics like Cuchulain, Brigit, Dagda, Morrigana, Angus Og (pron Ogue rhyming with brogue) - these are all gods/goddesses. Bana Drui means chief Druid, Bansidh (ie banshee) for a howler lol. That's all I can think of for now On this front, Sunny's doing a great job of keeping us in suspenders! She's thrown up for 2 days in a row, off her food a little but chooses to sleep instead Must be gearing up energy for the 2am rush
-
she must be in denial! Good luck with it
-
And yet when they phoned me up the other day to get dollars out of me they were soooooo enthusiastic about me being a registered breeder of pedigree dogs!!! Their hypocrisy (and knowledge) knows no bounds
-
Congrats whippets. Nice of her to give you an early start to the day! Sorry about the stillborn but still good to hear all other babes are healthy and doing well. You keeping the girl? Well, on our end of things, Sunny's plug came away last Friday, which freaked me out completely as last litter it came away only a day or so before whelping and Friday was waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy too early for my liking! She's doing well, holding them all in so far and each day further along the more I relax about early whelping. Still, she's as big as a house and her skin is stretched so tight, I'm wondering how exactly the pups are going to 'finish off' their growing this week so I am still expecting an early whelp, I'd just like her to make it to Friday at least.

What a bloody gorgeous dog
-
It's pretty much anyone's guess - I'm certainly not a professor where genetics are concerned but the sire is white, Sunny is brindle/white but the lines are tied tightly toghether and it has heaps of black with white, brindle and brindle with white in it so who knows :D I'm kinda hoping for brindle/white pied though - that would be pretty special
-
Okay, now taking bets or guesstimates for numbers and boy:girl ratio Bear in mind she's got 1.5 wks to go (probably not even that). Here's our babe:
-
congrats bel - anymore since you last posted? did you u/sound, is that why you're sure of numbers? Hope mum and bubs are all safe and well.
-
Were you parked away from everybody else? I just have trouble thinking that nobody at that show saw somebody go over to your trailer and let your girl out. Do you have any idea as to who it could have been? Jeez, I'd hate to think what I would do if I caught anybody trying that on with my dogs Some people are down right bastards

I'm not sure, I thought it was hereditary but I also think it depends on the bitch to a certain degree. Zu, our foundation bitch, was a fantastic mother - free whelper, good carer and brilliant feeder - was amazingly careful around the pups, you didn't have to worry about her rolling on them or stepping on a pup when she got in and out of the box. Her daughter, Sunny, well, not so great for her first litter. I ended up having to babysit Sunny babysitting her pups. Everytime I moved away when she was settled to feed, Sunny would also get up and move away. I'm hoping it was because it was her maiden litter, she is due in a week and a half so we shall see.
-
congrats on the new babies Sunny has finally slowed up, she's huge, will try and get a decent belly shot tonight when OH comes home. I'm actually starting to get concerned about how big she is and am hoping she will go full term at least and not try and get them out early. At least she's inside now so I can keep an eye on her. Good luck to all mums to be - let's hope for smooth whelps all round

errr hate to say this but it's not confined to small dogs. Burton is the only Stafford I know who will actually tiptoe around wet grass with a disgusted look on his face. It takes him ages to build up the courage to toilet outside in horrible weather - even then he will only put his forefeet on teh grass and stretch to try and reach
