Bonnie will most likely be causing him to break out. Have a careful read of the ingredients. I would def suggest changing the dry, maybe even switch over fully to raw. Keep up with the treatement, sounds like you are doing alright with it so far, what is the creme they gave you to put on there? Have you treated for fleas, vaccinated, or had him wet alot?

I've never heard of this for an itch? I would guess it's more likely something in the food that the dog is sensitive to?

I use both, the dogs do great on it and they also look great, nice healthy shiny coats aswell, i do add a blend of oils to it too though :)

The Eagle Pack Holistic Large and Giant Breed Puppy is low protein, along with the EP Large and Giant Breed Puppy in the original formula, it's actually one of the very few puppy biscuits that has the right balance for large breeds. The Adult formula (lamb and rice) is good too in the Original, so either would be ok. I agree Crazy Daisy, that the Value Plus Organic Iron and Mineral tablets with Zinc would be beneficial to give the puppy, i was told this by someone that has their puppy on the Vitamin because of problems with the legs very similar to this. Thanks for putting the pictures up, they do look quite bad, but you are on the right track now so lets hope they improve!

I've been discussing this with someone else about another puppy that has some knuckling under, the Holistic is a good food. I have also been told adding Zinc to the diet is beneficial. Definitely don't supplement with Calcium. Possibly stop giving the raw meat/chicken and just do the dry for a while to see how she goes. Another person i talked with put their puppy on the Eagle Pack Adult Original (lamb and rice one) and that seemed to help considerably.

Do 3 meals a day, see how hungry they get then! They would eat if they were hungry, look like too many feedings too close together

Most puppy biscuits are no good,because the protein is so high and the cal:phos does not match. I have looked at ALOT of brands, the Eagle Pack is one that i have found meets the calcium:phosphorus and the protein:fat ratio requirements The theory on raised feeders was to help prevent bloat, but i use them to prevent the strain on the joints. What brand are you feeding your Ridgeback puppy?

90% humidity, yukkk! because they couldn't regulate their own temps i was worried i would freeze the poor little things by putting towels down and fans on them, but not as much as i was worried they would cook in that horrible heat, with the wet towels down they would all crawl up and lay on them and then would be sounds asleep, nothing worse than crying pups and your wondering if they're hungry, are they sick, coliccy, oh no they're hot and bothered

23 seems cold? put a thermometer (sp) in there and double check. Mine were really hot, inside the house i could not cool it down, (45 + outside) the box was 31 degree or so, i put wet towels down and a fan on them and they were all quiet and happy....they were most comfortable at 26-28 degree Other thing is they may have colic, i was given some awesome stuff for colic from a freind and got some myself and used it on the babies, worked a treat, PM me if interested and i'll send you the link i might have missed it, but is mum on Antibiotics? how are their poops?

Ok, well i like the look of the Large breed one, even though the protein is 1% higher there is less fat. What is recomended for Labradors, re the protein levels? The cal;phos ratios are alos important to look at

There are hardly any Mastiffs being shown at the moment, one of my brindle boys might be out though at Durack and her fawn girl and also my friends young brindle boy, but other than that there doesn't seem to be alot. You will probably see more Bullmastiffs than Mastiffs out.

I had a brindle puppy left out of my litter of 11, no one wanted him of course because he was not the preferred colour, everyone wants fawns...me i'm a brindle lover! Anyhow i had my add on Dogzonline but decided to put an add on Gumtree and Tradepost (Oh dear everyone cringe now!!!) BUT i found the BEST home for that puppy via one of those adds, he couldn't be in a better place so very happy. Of course you do get alot of dicky enquiries aswell but that is easy to sort out. Just my two cents, advertise where ever you like, got to mix it up a little and not everyone looks on Dogzonline. Hannah

A good quality Mastiff puppy, very hard to come by! Do lots of research on the breed and be armed with your questions to ask the breeder. You do need to find a reputable breeder who has good quality dogs and puppies. Lolafolata's story is oh so familiar with this breed because there are so many cowboys breeding so called 'Mastiffs'. Very sad really, because there is nothing better than a well bred Mastiff with a solid temperament, they are gentle giants and that is what you want :) Do stick to the sites that advertise for registered breeders, Dogzonline is a good one. Grangeview and Nashtiff are good breeders, you will have to wait for a puppy though it will be worth it, contact them to see if you can arrange to see the dogs. Otherwise i will PM you some breeders that have puppies or have something coming up. Hannah

I have seen pictures and heard the stories of TWO Mastiff puppies now, from seperate litters unrelated, purebred parents, VERY small puppies when born and even at 6 weeks so tiny, one is 6 or so months now and growing well, still smaller that normal but not tiny tiny, one still growing maybe 11 weeks? and growing nice but still small, he has plumped up alot though. They just look odd because they are small, like preemie babies, but strong and little fighters, minature versions of their brothers and sisters. So i have no concerns that your puppy will be fine and sounds like he is do really good, maybe he wont be as enormous as the rest of them but he will get there! He's just special ;)

You need to be very VERY aware of your surroundings at all times and be prepared to step in front of the dog and tell people to back off if need be. Use your body to block 'scary' people (place yourself between the threat and your dog), do not place the dog in a situation where she will feel cornered. Keep your distance. Approaching a dog from behind is just plain bad manners, particularly at a dog club where people should know better... The litters i know of (mastiff) no problems, in fact they're really nice dogs!

If you don't keep a bitch, you will always be wondering if you should have! If you do at least, you can see when you breed her if she has the same problem, if she does, well you know not to go there again, if she doesn't...well that's great.

Have you got an ear rinse, give it a good clean out yourself.

Good luck! I know of a few girls now that have been supplemented and have gone on to deliver healthy litters of puppies! For interest could you post prog numbers, the days tested and when you have supplemented? Good idea re the U/S and the Vets theory

I'm so sorry, there seems to be alot of puppies affected by the vaccines from all breeds, so scary. An alternative is Homeopathy, i'll pm you a link
