No, but you can't tell some people as they have no brains in the first place. Both my GSD's don't like other dogs but my Rottie is OK. Even if all mine were OK, it's not mine I'm worried about and IMO off lead parks are an accident waiting to happen.

Because some people are morons. Why do most vets have cats wandering around the waiting room I was sitting at the vets with my GSD when this woman came in with a dog she let her dog run straight over to my dog, my boy went it the vet told me to go out side. ;) Another time at the same vet, I'm setting with my Rottie when some fool with a young GSD comes in and you guessed it let his dog run over and into my Rottie's face. My Rottie growled and you should have seen the look this moron gave me, when I said you let your dog jump on my dog he just gave me this stupid look. I don't go to this vet now, but these morons are at every vets.

I disagree with the statement that aggressive behaviour is the result of how a dog is raised. It's easy to raise a dog of solid nerve and stable temperament over a dog that is overly sharp and nervy which is dependant upon the traits of the individual dog. Over the years, I have had some wonderful GSD service dogs that were freindly joyous pets and others that you could never trust and were an absolute handful to control albiet, had exactly the same training regimes, not all temperaments and dispositions in one breed are the same IMO. Going to obedience training at 4 mths meeting people and other dogs and getting plenty of pats and treats made a part of the family is going to turn out much better than a poor dog that's been kept in the yard on a chain. Having done all of this and the dog bites someone, then it could be a problem with the dogs DNA who knows. Of cause I'm talking about family pets and not police dogs. It's the owner who molds the pup into a well adjusted and stable adult, the owner is responsible. My own Rottie is an ex-cruelty case and she was very scared of me and would hit the ground if I raised my hand. It took a long time to gain her trust,today she's a great example of her breed and loves pats and treats.

Firstly why does this newspaper show a Rottie bearing his teeth, as I bet this dog is not the dog responsible. Anyone should be able to give a Rottie a treat without getting their face ripped off My Rottie was given a treat by a staff member at the pet barn and she didn't rip her lip off. Waitakere City Council's manager of animal welfare, Neil Wells says - "The owner didn't do anything wrong. He had the dog properly contained on a lead and the staff member put herself into the territory of the dog". Guess again Mr Wells, a dog that unstable is a danger to everyone and this dog is not in it's territory. Blame falls on the owner as the dog was not properly contained in the first place, how do we know how the dog was raised. I feel very sorry for the woman shop assistant and I hope she gets over this and makes a full recovery and doesn't have a fear of Rotties from now on.

All our girls over the years have been done a 6 mths and all lived long healthy lives. My GSD boy was done at 10 mths and is still the big sook he was before he was done. There are many myths about desexing, too many I think and it tends to put people off but what is most important is if your not a registered breeder - desex and 6 mths to 12 mths is fine.

So the R$PCA is opposed to BSL is it Mr Linke, then why did the R$PCA lobby the Federal Government to bring BSL into being in the first place ? If the R$PCA is opposed to BSL, then why are they not lobbing the Federal Government to have BSL abolished ? I think we know why don't we. This statement is far too simplistic. Not all puppies want to play. Even very young puppies can be aggressive. Maybe you should read the OP's first post before you comment on what I said.

Puppies are puppies, it's that simple and love to play. You've done nothing wrong and that woman would have a heart attact if she saw my two GSD's playing. :D Tell her to get a life.

Once again a silly comment Kirty, as I am passing on what I was told and if people choose to believe it or not it's up to them. If people think this spider is harmless good on them, but I will not risk my health or that of my dogs on the advice of some so called expert. I don't believe what some of these "experts" say either because they wouldn't allow a white tail spider to bite them just to prove their point would they. Did you know that you can die from a cat bite, as cats have bacteria on their teeth and they carry bacteria on their claws that can cause a pregnant woman to miscarry but I'm not advocating the killing of cats am I.

I was at the vets today with my GSD when a woman came in with a Greyhound that had only three legs, I asked what happened and she told me her dog was bitten by a white tail spider It seems the venom has the same effect on dogs as it has on us I didn't know a spider could do such damage, so if you see this bastard of a spider kill it.

The R$PCA is not Genuine anyway, so who cares.

Aussielover, Sounds like you have a normal loving playful pup to me. IMO a Dominant dog is a figment of some ones Imagination and people who claim dogs are trying to Dominate us are morons. People who can't handle their dog use the dominance excuse, when simple training will solve the problems.

Catch them all, Australia wide and send them back to England where they came from in the first place. They can have their bloody rabbits back too.

Mine sleep inside on the lounge and my Rottie has a warm coat for Winter, is cruel by my standards.
