  1. Thanks! I have rung him (Peter) and he can see her tomorrow so that's really great. I didn't want her to have to wait until next week to get sorted out. Thanks again
  2. Thanks, that would be great. Gary Barnesly - have tried him first, he's on holidays until 5th Jan I have found a Fiona Lewis at Randwick but she is on holidays until the 7th Jan It's one of those things where there are probably a few around, but I don't want to take her just anywhere so if I can get a recommendation then that is always better.
  3. Hi My dog has pinched a nerve in her hip and whilst the severe initial pain was managed with cortisone by her vet she is still quite sore in the back now and I have been advised to take her to a chiro - does anyone have one they can recommend that might be open this week? I am in Hornsby in Sydney Thank you
  4. Thank you so much!! That seems to be spot on as to what's happening to her. Strangely enough my other older dog used to actually get the same thing happen with his tail (not so much the change in mood but maybe she is just much more sensitive), and a few days later all would be OK again with the tail. Definitely not too cold water, but maybe I am using water that is too warm. I will still ask vet tomorrow re the licking issue, but that has definitely shone some light. Thanks again :-)
  5. My female border collie x kelpie, approx 4 years old, started acting funny on Monday (I gave her a bath on Sunday, used Topi Topi Stop Itch Natural Pet Care shampoo, tea tree based for sensitive skins, she was fine on Sunday afternoon, quite pleased with herself to be clean and getting so much attention) She is normally a very active happy dog, but she is acting really subdued as though she is in trouble, she won't wag her tail, she carries her tail in a very strange manner, she won't play with her toys, she is sleeping a lot and she seems to be sore if she sits down normally so prefers to lie down. I have noticed that whenever she pees the first thing she does when she is finished is try to lick her private area, as though it is sore or uncomfortable. That did start a little while ago, and unfortunately I have not addressed it and now with all the other symptoms I am more concerned... She is on her own all day and nothing has changed, I cannot see anything out of the ordinary where she might have injured herself. There is no way her tail could have got caught in a door without my knowing about it. When I walk her she seems happy enough and not sore in her back or her legs. Has anyone else come across this problem? Any suggestions? I would be most grateful. I am going to ring vet tomorrow to ask if dogs can get UTI's and how I might treat it... She just seems really unhappy/uncomfortable all of a sudden and I wish she could tell me what it is!! Thank you
