Hi SAm It will be outdorrs as otherwise i would have to pay for the hire of the pavillion. I have an info sheet but to answer your questions. TRaining pre requisite none The class is basd on foundations its fun everyone will be asked to bring food toys whatever motivates their dog and we will all work on uisng the envidon ment as well. If a dog has issues fear aggression etc i would be discussing this with the person before the group starts i dont have a problem so long as i have been prewarned that a dog may need some space. AS i start the group all seated with dogs next to handlers and when w are doind any discussion everyone is seated i find it is a great environment for dogs that get stressed easily. Age well its at the owners own risk im happy for someone to bring a puppy but again i will make sure they are aware of the risks involved i will also ask that any dog attending be currentl vaccinated. the idea came to mind as a lot of peope have said to me they want to keep training over summer Last year i tried geting a training group togther but it was too hard to committ to evry week so i thought a four week group to cover th break might be a way to go. If people are keen at the end to do more then we will look at another block I am planniny o do a training course next year and want to get back into the habit of instructing groups so thought this would be a good start. hi guys I am planning a summer school for people who wish to train a bit over the break This will be a small group limited to six and the theme of the group is back to basics each week we will cover foundations as well as learning how to build on exercises and add distraction we will also be doing some tricks for fun. the group runs from the 21st a wednesday at 7pm and will run each week for four weeks of training and then a summer school breakup The group will met at Kcc park If you are looking for somwhere to catch up with friends do a bit of training and have some fun let me know. I have ha the pleasure of seeings sardogs dogs work in obedience Her and Leannes always got my attention they were so foccussed and animated. wehn i was first starting out i used to watch them train to get ideas on what they did that gave them all that focus lol I was too shy to go up and ask them . Wehn i started dabbling in retrieving I used to watch Leanne train her dogs amazing stuff and Two of the nicest people in obedeince always thinking about the big picture. yb

quick update Connors two favorite things in the world are chasing waves and being rude with his grlfriend dog lol Today we went to the beach with my sister and her dog connors girlfriend I asked him for a sit and let him have his toy then let him chase waves went well after tat i would ask for something then reward then sometimes let hims chase waves sometimes ask for something else he was fantastic since he has developed stronger prey drive and has learnt that he can satifsfy his prey drive through listening to me he was happy to work for me even with the waves crashing and his girlfriend sooking and barking at him because he didnt want to play with her We even did a couple of short stints of heeling on the wet sand and recalls off wave chasing something i thought i'd always struggle to get him to leave yb

Hmm this is interesting where did you find the article. iwould like to read it even if it is bit vague Sam i think there a few people using prey drive to help overcome nervousness when out If you can get the drive high enough to get and keep him there while the scarey thing is about then yes it would help yb

I have the new rules too and they wil be starting in July 2006 so i will tell you all about it at club i wonder if we can get them to run the may memebrs comp under the new rule book as a test run. the clubs will have to think alittle about when and where to introduce the retrive and distance work as they are now novice exercises so that could be a wake up call and a good oppurtunity to suggest a ask the judge day ANyway i'll be at club this week with some ideas hope they like them yb

Yesterday i did some trianing with connor and the results connor gave me working on heel sit and down with the vaccum cleaner being used he loves to chase the vaccum yet yesterday he didnt even think about it he has started to outhink me as soon as something that excites him happens he is running to me with expectation of playiing with his toy. If i can get that on the road boy will i be a happy chook lol

Hi guys Yup your right it amazes me how people can go from being friends to nasty little insects just because they dont see eye to eye with you. what a beautiful tribute to chilly Our dogs are the best friends we ever have they dont judge or complain and know when to give you that extra lick on the nose. Losing a best friend is like losing a part of yourself sometimes you think the pain will never go away Remeber the god times cry let all the emotions out time will help the pain subside and then the meories wll become bright again. I often look at videos and photos of my boy only just now can i do so without crying i still get the lunp in the throat but then i think of the funny things he did and the cut way his ears would turn in diffferent directions and i laugh.
