  1. i was happy with this retouch. nothing OTT we were there in the fading light and this was all handheld so to be able to not only rescue this shot but to be happy with it was GREAT! i used an effect called orton (good tute here http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=BLQfva4kWbY)... amongst other things. i ended up with quite a few layers! Before: After:
  2. Ha ha i have you fooled!! My trick is usually a pocket full of cheese
  3. I have one trick.... 2 if you include catching a ball ever since I taught the table in agility all my shots look like this I am now re teaching it with her laying down so there goes my trick!
  4. no mine slept in a puppy pen at the foot of my bed until she was about 4 months old (until she could jump out) then she slept beside my bed on her own little bed :D it is only now we have two (got the second at 9 months old) she has to sleep in her crate. I like them close.. i worry We have 2 crates in the lounge room one has a nifty crate cover and it doesn't look all that bad, but yeah I wouldn't call them attractive. they love them though even now there is a dog in the crate and one by the lounge at my feet. we only have a small backyard. we try and do 2 walks a day. we have some great dog parks and bush tracks around here and we do training and fetch daily. I work from home so they are never alone in the backyard. and if i go out they are inside. I let Chloe roam the house but he is in his crate. like I said i worry a friends boxer pup got stolen from their backyard never to be seen or heard of again. If they are in the backyard I check on them often he he...
  5. Thanks for your post Delta Charlie! So you think he will be alright with the big scary possums when he is just 8 weeks old? I have already enrolled in puppy school and will be spending lots of time with pup. I will come and join the sub breed forum too! at 8 weeks in the middle of winter maybe inside would be a better idea for a couple of months. the pup will have had all of her litter mates and mum for company and warmth at the breeder. mine sleep inside in covered crates so they have their own little dens. As for the possums I doubt they will hurt the pup but the pup constantly barking at them is a possibility that is another reason mine sleep inside we have possums and fruit bats and the dogs would chase and bark all night if i let them. also agree with everything delta said re training and bonding. They make their own fun if you don't keep them interested. but the benefits of such a active smart breed is well worth it IMO. the more training and time you put in the easier it is for you in the long run.
  6. We went to the same puppy pre school as you? (i saw your graduation photo) and i may own the most submissive and disinterested dog on the planet, she only has eyes for me she was apparently like that in her litter and some dodgy interactions with in your face dogs hasn't helped. it becomes really apparent after agility when all of the other dogs are having some time off and chloe is at my feet looking up at me.... I think Chloe just has a soft temperament. sometimes she rolls over and wets herself it is that bad! pointer type dogs are the worst they seem to really charge in with their nose and she hates it. that behavior was already apparent at 12 weeks at puppy pre school IMO. all of the other dogs would have a rumble and she would be behind my legs.
  7. chloe just switched on one day and started barking at people as they approached the house. probably about 9 months by memory, its a pretty tough sounding bark too. But i am sure if something serious went down she would be under the bed safe and sound (exactly where i would want her.) at 6 months a Border is a baby maybe more so than some other breeds. Maybe mine is softer than most. but most i meet seem to have a soft temperament. we had a border when i was a kid we had a break-in and the dog never let us know at all. but then when the cops turned up she nearly took the cops leg off. must have been the uniform, or the fact that he was approaching us...
  8. maybe one on those foe grass puppy mats??
  9. when you go to boarding kennels that is where they all wee. i guess it is the closest thing to grass when the alternative is concrete. also if you wash the bed use bio zet or vinegar. this breaks down the enzyme and they wont smell the urine. if the bed smells like wee then it is a toilet to a dog and they have great noses. maybe start to set an alarm and give her a toilet break in the middle of the night until the habit is broken.
  10. Oh i just found this..... and the photos are gone of course you can put up the video  I have watched it about a hundred times!
  11. Just had a look they are 75 for canon and 42 for a non canon, its at the bottom of this page.
  12. sorry the warranty of your camera is not effected as they are still cannon batteries. you just wont get an australian warranty with the actual battery. Grey imports are purchased from other countries and then brought in so cannon australia wont recognise the warranty.
  13. I got all my gear from here, they are grey imports so the warranty is effected... but for a battery it isn't that big a deal
  14. Now that i use it for a job i own it, but for many years i 'tested it for free ' Owning it is great though for auto updates bug fixes etc. But boy is it expensive! There was a time when computers were the expensive part of graphic design but now they are the cheap bit! If you must buy it though yet cant justify the cost. Pshop Elements is quite a bit cheaper and has a lot of the tools that an amateur photographer will require. and if you are serious do a course and you will be eligible for a student edition. this makes it cheap too.

  16. nope you don't... it seems to go up about 30% with every release. computers used to be the expensive bit now they are dirt cheap its the software that kills you. student edition is heaps cheaper. don't know what you need to qualify as a student tho. there is a big stink about how aussies are paying nearly twice what Americans have to for Adobe products, i don't know where i saw it but there is an online petition to get the pricing fixed for Europe and Australia. They have just released CS3 so there may be good deals on CS2 out there
  17. you will love it! post the new file when you are done in my signature I multiplied Chloe's photos over a pink BG and as you can see white multiplied on pink is pink, so it produces some good effects at times - have fun!
  18. Great job Freckles! do u use photoshop? If so try turning the layers with your shadows to multiply, you will find this option in the top left of your layers palate, what this does is multiplies the colour (in this case grey) to the background colour and it gives a much more realistic shadow effect
  19. Can someone tell me what the scrolly work in the background is called??? been trying for days to find some for paintshop pro ??? Hi Harminee I don't know what you would call the look? but i know what you mean. I drew this vine in illustrator, it is a passion fruit vine :p, not sure how you could reproduce hat look in PSP??
  20. Thanks Yeah that is definitely a factor with all this stuff, the higher res the file the better the result.
