Hi everyone My little pup has fleas, he is 8 1/2 weeks old . Im not sure if he had them when we got him or he has picked them up in the garden. We dont have any other pets, but our neighbour does have several cats. I went to the pet supply shop to buy something for him yesterday and the lady told me not to use anything on him as he is too young. I have combed him and removed as many as I can, but he is getting distressed, is there anything I can buy or do to help him? I have read a few posts about revolution and frontline plus, but I didn't know if these were suitable. Also I'd like to get something to treat the grass and yard, its raining very heavy today, so im not sure I can do it, but when it stops what could I use. Thanks Shel

Hi Beaglenewb We got our beagle puppy yesterday too. I would also describe ours as hyperactive, I think it is just the breed. He is also biting and yelping a bit. Last night he was yelping and we did leave him and he went to sleep. Good luck. Shel

I am a newbie to dogs, but I just finished reading 'The Idoits Guide to Beagles' this series of books is available on many breeds. I found it very helpful for someone who didn't know much about dogs. I borrowed the book from the library and will probably buy a copy. Its a good place to start. Shel

Hi there we are getting our new puppy in about 10 days, he will be 8 weeks old, a beagle. How much exercise should we give him each day. I have heard its not good to walk your dog too long when they are a pup. Should we just play with him in the back yard at first? When can we start walking him and for how long. Thanks Shel
