  1. Disregard - seems the people I was going to recommend have sold up - Critter Club on Brown Street in Newtown used to be run by people who used to have danes. Now seems its run by the small fluffy brigade.
  2. There is a heap of room in them! When I took mine out the other day I had the 450D, twin lens plus the 50mm 1.8 lens in there (2 lens on one side easily) and my big wallet, keys and phone on the other side of the body. I also like the long adjustable strap as I was able to lengthen it and put it across my body when I was juggling stuff.
  3. My feet are almost permanently bruised from having a 60kg+ stand on them on a regular basis. Dislocated my knee showing the dog. Numerous welts down my back, torso etc from a dane who liked to cuddle (jumps up on shoulders) but had dew claws still. Numerous bruises for being collected by a zooming dane Nose has been whacked a few times and split lips. Got my nose bitten by a 12 week old JRT the other day
  4. And that would be lying - you know she is an unpapered Amstaff and to chip her as anything but is knowingly making a false record.
  5. Nice - we used to tramp a lot in the Kawekas when we were in Hawkes Bay or around Waikaremoana.
  6. OT - Do you do SAR work? I spent my childhood around that as my father was heavily involved.
  7. No one here can tell you its cancer or not just by looking at a photograph. The only way to lessen the anxiety is vet - if you are that anxious about it then there are vets around (like Sydney Animal Hospital) that are open to 10pm/ 11pm.
  8. mmmmm very Christmassy but I can't imagine keeping the white parts clean. I also like the "formal" one. Damn you I love that one! *ignoring*
  9. Fresh4Paws (Issis' store) sells them for a reasonable price
  10. And taking a dog that was so sick for a run and swim at the beach and then going to the vet? I would be heading straight for the vet with a feverish dog. Think about it - how did the camera crew know he was at the beach with a sick dog and was then going to the vet A lot of the show is staged - he would have turned up at the vet for a consult and then they shot some location shots afterwards once they decided his story was worthy of the show Who takes a dog with an ear infection swimming? Its all for the cameras... Aussielover - please fix up your quote to be like the above as you original posts makes it look like I said more than I did. Who said the dog had an ear infection at the time - as I said, they film location shots/ fillers some time later when they have pieced together the show - it could have been a month later.

  12. Mine was shipped 11 days after order and took 8 days to arrive. I really like this new design: http://www.etsy.com/listing/61939235/new-d...black-snowflake
  13. Why should they have to move their trampoline - they have the right to use their backyard however they want. It is your dogs that have the issue with the trampoline so if you want them to stop barking, you fix their behaviour or block off access to that area. You'd get a very short answer from me if I was the neighbour who's door you were knocking on.
  14. Surgeons in training programs also have the benefit of primarily seeing surgical cases and doing surgery. Veterinarians in general practice try to juggle everything - providing customer service, managing medical and surgical cases, dealing with hospital staff, clients etc, and THEN trying to improve surgical skills as an aside. I think it was stormie who has posted a list before about everything a vet is - general practitioner, pharmacist, surgeon, radiographer etc etc etc etc (and it was a lot of etcs!)
  15. The other distinction is doctors get the benefit of having patients who talk to them, explain symptoms, pain etc
  16. I did wonder about this whenever I read about people carrying their dogs around ... Hoover was 10kg at 3 months and a wriggling chunky monkey ... I had assumed people put them in baby carriers or something LOL I have strong arms Mindy was also around 10kg at 3 months (actually more like 12kg). she wasn't wriggly though and liked nothing better than to be carried and cuddled. In fact I'm sure she would STILL like to be carried around \ We'd only take her for very short outings- maybe 10-15 minutes when we needed to duck up and do some shopping and take turns holding her. 12kg at 12 weeks for a lab - that's a big lab! Happy to watch you carry around a 22kg (at 15 weeks) 60cm (to withers) puppy for 15 mins
  17. Isn't the reason you apply spot ons at the back of the neck/ shoulder area so that they cannot lick it? Applying it in a different area is not going to change the effect of it.
  18. All well and good if you have a small breed puppy. At 10 weeks mine was over 12kg so carrying them around is not possible.
  19. Thanks - I have looked on the website and know which ones are dog friendly - was really after personal recommendations though. My dog has excellent recall so not concerned about proximity and he has no idea what a rabbit is but if he's told to leave it alone he will.
  20. Two questions 1. What is the best option for a dog beach between Sydney and Wollongong? I am looking at Little Austinmer at the moment. 2. What is the tick situation around that area? Any other dog friendly ideas/ cafes around this area? Thanks
  21. Sorry for your loss - it is always harder when it is sudden :D I don't think it matters on here whether you're popular or not when it comes to the lose of a dog - it is the great leveller of us all and something you would not wish on anyone
  22. Definitely look at proper testing. As for rehoming - should you not go back to the breeder in the first instance?
  23. Retail therapy is good Huga. Okay - photos: Outside view - decent depth Inside - the padding is nice and thick and you can see that the dividers are flexible. There is more of the patterned fabric on the inside and a pocket at the back inside. Outside view - waxed canvas on the front panel Zipped pocket at front and other pockets Pouch included Solid clip
  24. Mine arrived today and I love it! I'll get some photos later but the quick look so far has really impressed me. It's really well made and funky.
