Experiences With Evo And Canidae Pure Elements
Danois replied to Elise+Hudson's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I fed Canidae and was very happy with it (Pure Sea). I have switched to a 1/2 VAN diet now so am giving Taste of the Wild a go now. -
Less than a minute here.

I've been super impressed with the Natural Pet Store and their service. Order at 9pm at night and it's on my porch when I get home from work the next day!
-
Sorry to hear about your girl Adnil but pleased to hear you'll have another Dane in your family again one day. It's a really hard thing to explain isn't it - about what makes Danes just different to other dogs. Until you've owned one - then you know! Even if mine woke me up at 6.30 this morning by sitting on me when he misjudged how much space he had on the bed beside me!
-
No - clearly not as I have a Dane. You could easily have a Dane who lives 8+ years just like you could get an Aussie which only makes it to 2. There is no guarantee in any breed that they will live a long life. My last Dane was 21 months when he had to be put to sleep. Maybe because we know our time with our Danes is more limited, perhaps we are more conscious of making the most of that time with them, don't sweat the small stuff as much etc Regardless of any of that - the relationship you get with a Dane makes it all worthwhile - however long or short it is.

Another DOLers pound puppy recalled when we were on a walk - took a direct route over an 8-10 foot drop. Landed in the artificial creek bed - base is stone - which had a small amount of water in it. We all held our breath and up he popped, shook the water off and finished the recall. No injuries!

Boo's coat got more shiny after a couple of weeks.

LOL I have to agree! But I am hoping with a move to ToW, VAN and Flaxseed Oil I might have a fighting chance at getting something better! I got an email today telling me Pookinuk was stocking it now too - cheap postage but I have a few issues communicating with them over a lost order so will stick to the local supplier!
-
I'm hoping MrSeal may start looking more like MrBlack! His coat condition has improved and his top line is so nice and shiny.
-
Good to hear WP! Boo is doing really well on it too and is eating more regularly than he was.

K9pro Online Shop Great Customer Service

I've had a number of companies not offer replacement or refund if lost in the post. Luckily the last time, the order (a collar from an overseas site) turned up 3 months late. Up to me to organise the right postage option to cover insurance. I'm sure if it was a standard requirement people would complain postage costs were too high!! Damned if you do, damned if you don't. The onus is not on the company otherwise they would be easily scammed but people complaining about non delivery when it had. It's about personal responsibility - you have the options for postage and if you choose not to insure then you take the risk. -
Your dog has a pre existing condition now and you'd have to disclose it to any new insurer or they would pick it up pretty quickly from your vet records. When you apply for insurance you are making a legal declaration and if you fail to disclose you will end up without insurance and being required to pay back everything if they discover it. I think it just belongs into the shit happens category sadly.

And what's the issue?? I give my dog dentastixs from time to time. They are actually designed (according to the packet) to be fed daily. A bit of a storm in a teacup methinks.

Thumbs up for Natural Petstore here. Ordered late one night and delivered the next day. Very quick email responses. Stop using Pookinuk cos of crap service after lost order.

All well and good but how do you propose it deals with 24 plus hours in transit/ on flights? Pretty sure Weis are bloat prone so the stress may be a too big a risk.

Vets All Natural - Perfect Puppy Nutrition
Danois replied to Dr Bruce Syme's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks but I get that I add 200ml water to 200gm but I was wondering if anyone knew what 200gm weighed wet. The mix is way too big to be trying to manouevre it between bowls to divide into 5 and way. Was hoping someone had done the maths before and save me some time I did not have. I'll do 200gm seperately next time so I have the measure for the future. -
Vets All Natural - Perfect Puppy Nutrition
Danois replied to Dr Bruce Syme's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Ok - stupid question but my brain is overloaded tonight! I have just emptied a 1kg bag into a bowl to soak. Based on my dog's weight he gets 200gm mix/ 200ml water and 600gm of meat per meal. So....How much does 200gm of dry weigh after it is soaked? -
Can Permoxin Be Used On Dogs If You Have Cats?
Danois replied to Lily123's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Might want to check that. I was advised that once it was dry then there was no issues with a cat and dog sharing the same space. -
I fed it for about 12 months and was very happy with it - no issues with smell etc (fed PureSea one).
-
I tried the cat on Felidae and it was not for him. I think I'll stick to his Euk.
-
It's been popular here too - meals are being eaten when they are put down which is not normal LOL
-
I am giving this a try - just made it in with the 10% off last night! Fantastic service from The Natural Petstore - sent a quick email last night to check delivery times to make sure it would arrive before the weekend. Very quick response. Ordered it last night and came home to it on my porch. Boo got stuck into it which was a good sign (he's not a regular eater). I've been feeding Canidae so will see how this goes - feeding in conjunction with VAN.

Isn't the info on he Canidae website??

What Is The Longest Time You've Not Seen Your Dog?
Danois replied to Lisey's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just short of 3 weeks. I enjoyed my time away and I enjoyed the break from the walking/ feeding etc routines. I knew he was being well looked after - I checked in a few times but that was it. My dog is a part of my life - he is not my life so I have no issues in going away if I want. -
I was speaking to Dr Bruce Symes the other day and he recommended flax seed oil over fish oil as you need a lot less for the same results.
