When I was learning to drive a dog actually fell out of a car window in front of me It was on a 70kph large busy road too. Somehow it didn't get hit, and the driver managed to stop and grab him straight away, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't injured. I was really shaken up by it, especially as I'd only just started driving. I get super nervous when I see dogs hanging out car windows now, as I have concrete proof it can and does end in tears!!!

Hey Luvmy - I have wondered about this as I live in a rural area and do a lot of long walks on rocky/gravelly roads and rough terrain. It's not as rocky as you may be referring to, but I have worried about their paws occassionally. Cal does seem to try and keep to smoother areas if possible, but Finn doesn't even notice and neither seem bothered

Deelee the dogs getting wet and muddy is what I don't like too-I'm on a pretty tight schedule walking before work as it is so two very messy dogs can be a bit of a challenge! though we have been on several wet weather walks over the last week or two

Haha I'm just facing this now! Having lived in Brisbane the last 6 years I didn't often have to worry about it. Now over here it is more of an issue! I try to go most days, but earlier this week it was absolutely hosing down and I missed a couple. Because of work hours etc I can only walk them at a certain time, can't wait for a break in the weather.

Toys are definitely worth it in general - but it does depend on the dog as to whether you should spend a lot of money. Cal doesn't look twice at toys and is not at all interested, so buying them just for him would be a bit pointless. But Finn loves them and I happily spend money on them for him Unfortunately toys involving food (eg Kongs) cause fights so I can't leave him with one of those but he loves his soft toys.

Still checking in regularly and I think of you often Jed. Am keeping my candle lit and really hope things are continuing to improve for you

Thanks for the update, it is great to hear that Jed has come through the surgery ok Fifi, I too have had a kick up the backside-have had my smoke alarm down for a while now waiting for a battery-it will be getting a new one today.

Lovely to see the pics of the surviving pups Even if it does make one a little teary again!
