  1. Nope. We are pretty fussy when it comes to walking conditions. We don't walk them in the rain as if they get soaked through, take ages to dry. They are also very prone to hot spots when they get wet so we don't risk it. They also miss out if it's too hot and humid.

So sorry to hear of your loss MonElite. He was an amazing looking dog and I always enjoyed reading your posts about him.
  3. They are great. I just love the second one - makes you want to give them both a big cuddle.
  4. Everyone's pictures are lovely.
  5. Nothing wrong with that at all. Who has said you are a snob?
  6. Same here. We have two big hairy dogs who shed constantly. I don't want them upstairs, let alone in my bedroom and in my bed.
  7. I’m considering purchasing a camera from Discount Digital Photographics and before going ahead just wanted to check if anyone has purchased from them before or if anyone has had any issues around warranty repairs.
  8. I have one of these that is cracker sharp and I never ever use it. If you're interested. I guess my concern is that I don't even know why I would be interested, which is why I think I'll be happy with the twin lens kit which is part of the pack. I think I'd be spending money on something I don't even understand. The OH is a big researcher and likes to make sure he gets the best quality etc but in this case I think it's overkill. I think I've pretty much made up my mind, I just want to be able to explain why I've made the decision I have. I can be prone to impusle buy and I think he's worried I'm doing that, i.e. just buying the first thing I've seen rather than doing adequate research. Plus for the money the other lens cost I'm going to buy a kindle instead.
  9. I'm having the same quandry at the moment too. I've pretty much decided I'm going to get the Canon 500D and was going to get the twin IS lens kit with the 18-55 and the 55-250 lenses. The OH has just asked somone at work and he has said what most people on here have said, in that it's all about the lenses and then suggested either of the below two options. • Body Only & 28-135IS lens • Or the enthusiast kit with 17-85IS If the quality is that much better then I'm happy to spend the extra money, however I'm also being cognisant of not getting something that is above my ability and knowing how to use them propery to get the most out of them. I know that will come in time but I don't want something that is too hard for an absolute beginner.
  10. I'll leave others with more experience to comment on the behavioural issues, however just wanted to add that I also crate trained my two when they were adults (around 5 years old). It can be done and it really does come in handy.
  11. We needed the biggest door available and it was a bit of a mission to find it. I searched on the manufactures web site so I know the size existed but it took lots of ringing around to find a pet shop that stocked one that big. I also had a lot of shops try to convince me they didn't come that big and just to go with the one they had in stock (which would have been too small). We got the type that goes into a wooden door. It's permanent as you have to saw a hole into the door. It cost around $300 and that was 7 years ago.
  12. I like the chews as Indy will eat them. He would not eat the flavour tabs no matter how much I broke them up and mixed them with his food.
  13. Yes, I've also noticed the packaging seems extra bulky and the damn foil gets me every time. It looks like you should be able to pop them out or tear the foil but I always have to go hunting for the scissors.
  14. Gosh they are cute. The black ones all look so mischievous (the way they are holding their heads makes them look so cheeky) and little Snowflake looks so innocent.
  15. I won't walk my dog aggressive dog in a muzzle either. He hates wearing it and due to his arthritis only gets limited walks anyway, so I'm at least going to let him get some enjoyment out of them. Like other posters have said I only walk along the street, avoid any off leash areas and keep a keen eye out for other dogs. If we see one approaching we cross the street or move into a driveway etc. If his critical distance is observed he will go into a drop and stay there until the other dog has passed. The only potential for a problem is people who are breaking the law with their off leash out of control dogs.
  16. I can't stand barking dogs either. It's the main thing I love about Malamutes - no barking. I won't let them make a peep at night time or early morning (not that they really do anyway), but if they start playing at an inappropriate time then they are called inside immediatley.
  17. Yeah it's the new chews. It's not the end of the world that they have stopped doing them as I can just write on the calendar, but I've obviously haven't totally got over the school girl thing of liking stickers.
  18. For things like flea/tick and worming treatments I've always used the stickers in the pack to mark my calander a few months in advance as a reminder of the due dates. I've just bought a new lot of Interceptor and noticed that there are no stickers in any of the packs - they have had them in the past. As anyone else noticed this? Do you think they've made the decision to stop providing the stickers or have I just got a few dogy packs?
  19. Wow, she is adorable and that last photo is just gorgeous.
  20. When I was looking for recommendations a while ago I'm pretty sure it was you who recommended Akuna. We went with them and couldn't have been happier. One of our dogs can be quite difficult so we were nervous about boarding him but had no choice at the time. Everything went without a hitch and we won't hesitate to use them again.
  21. Poor little girl. It really was a good thing you were there at the time.
  22. Our two aren't toy grabbers. They tend to just come up and lean into you as much as they can for cuddles. Kira does a fair bit of wooing at you first though.
  23. What wonderful news. So glad to hear it wasn't his heart like first feared.
