My heart is broken. Today, peacefully, at home in his favourite spot in the kitchen, I said goodbye to my beautiful Kapper - my heart dog, my friend, my everything. I will miss him more than words can say, and nothing I type can do him justice. Sleep well my sweetheart, you were such a brave boy and I will love you forever - thank you for everything. Go & find Kerri at the Bridge - I know you've missed her xxx So much loved and will be so very much missed by all of our family. He leaves a legacy of many beautiful children & grandchildren all over the world, and I am so very proud of them all. RIP Kapper - Japanese Champion Amaranth of Sky Dragon Farm JP CD1 (Imp Japan) 10.9.1996 - 31.12.2009 PS Thanks so much to my Secret Santa FionaC, who sent me just the perfect present. I have his pawprint with me forever xxx

Hello! :D Hound group was won by Sandra Taylor's RR, don't know Whippy breed results but (I think) a baby Whippy got Baby In Group! BIS was Michelle Roberts lovely Boxer "Pearl" RUBIS was Joan Jensen/Anne Howell/Peter Boekelman's Standard Poodle "Cash", handled by me today I buggered off home as soon as BIS was finished so can't help with any other CIS results, it was very warm down there today! Other group winners (from memory): Toy: Havanese (Sue Shellback's) Terrier: Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier! (nice to see, I love this breed - don't know who dog or owner were though) Gundog: Golden Retriever (Liz Griffiths) Working Dog: GSD (not sure of owner but it was from Junior class) Hope that helps, sorry you couldn't get there

I have used CR Bodifier in the past (when I was showing the BC's) and was very happy with it, but when I was doing show prep on the Chows we used to use Listerine & water mixed together - this tip was given to us by a professional handler from HK who showed Chows & Poms and he swore by it. Can't for the life of me remember the dilution rate but easy (and harmless!) enough to experiment... it worked a treat for lifting coat up & out. Spray coat & brush 'against the grain' then get the dog to shake :D

Whilst we don't usually do a lot of grooming (we only really want to concentrate on the boarding as I have bad wrists, they wouldn't cope with much more than the odd dog I groom now) I did do a Shih Tzu we had in staying with us last week. He desperately needed a clip - he was matted to the eyeballs and I now know why! I have never met such an aggressive, nasty little Tzu - he is the boss in their house and is not remotely scared - he has just learnt that biting & snarling gets him what he wants (ie no brushing). He was pretty much OK as long as I stuck to his body, but as soon as I tried to do his legs/face/anything else he deemed undesirable he had no compunction in biting - and hard! I battled through and managed to get him done with no major injuries to either party (although not the prettiest clip I've ever done! ) but it occurred to me as I was doing him - how do you deal with aggressive but small brachy breeds like Tzu's/Pekes etc? Obviously standard muzzles are no good - would a tape muzzle work on such a short nose? I also didn't want to risk impairing his breathing. Or is it just very rare for one to be this aggro? I know I've never met one like him before.... and whilst I know that they cannot do the same amount of damage as a bigger dog if they bite, I am still very much averse to being bitten by ANY dog! Thank goodness he was a one-off. I have three of my boarders I do on a regular basis, and they are all an absolute delight to do. That's enough for me! Full time groomers deserve medals!! :D PS Anyone wanna groom a Shih Tzu in Perth? Only bites a little bit...

Rest well beautiful Savannah... my deepest condolences MTD

I am speechless. Wazzat, that poem is perfect - I don't know how to thank you. Thanks all for your condolences - my heart is broken. I didn't think I would miss him this much, obnoxious, loud, cheeky little bugger he was! The most handsome, charming devil of a cat I have ever met. He honestly didn't believe that there could possibly be ANYONE who didn't love him... and if he sensed a 'non-cat person' he considered it his mission to convert them. Boss of all my dogs, official greeter of people who came to the kennels (but always smart enough to stay at arms length from their dogs ) and my friend for 13 years. He was a kissy cat, and loved nothing more than to wrap his big paws around your neck and smooch all over you with his stinky breath wafting up your nose... maybe I won't miss THAT bit Here is a pic of Feral sharing dinner with Chevy my rescue Dogue... Sleep well my gorgeous boy. I have never met a cat with as much personality as you. I love you.
