Contacting A Breeder/has Anyone Heard Of Them?
Bubitty replied to greyseas's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just wanted to clarify, are you wanting to buy a pup from her or did you want to ask more questions but are worried to because she has taken down her ad? Congratulations on your EXCELLENT breed choice by the way!!!! BEST BREED EVER!!!!! Here is a sample of the cuteness you have to look forward to! :D -
My breeder picked Bitty for me! Because she knew me well and puts up with my nonsense on a regular basis she basically just said "You are having this pup! Now be a good girl and don't fuss" I didn't really like Bitty much to be honest! I thought she was the most dull and "meh" puppy but gave my breeder the benefit of the doubt! After a night............OMG!!! BITTY WAS DIVINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was the most glorious little thing! Sunshine and rainbows! Spring personified that dog! Everything anyone could ever want! Loved and obsessed over by everyone in our family including Chasey who fell in love with her at first sight! So yes! I am all for wise breeders picking! :D

oh she is boooootiful!!! What a wonderful life you have given her!!!!!
-
But this reminds me of the very first time I have Bitty a raw egg to crack by herself. She had never had one before so the gorgeous baby Bitty did the only thing she could think of! She playbowed it!

hehe CW EW did you know MrB actually bought his stepchild (Bubby) a bottle of truffle oil! Bubby is MAD about the stuff and is beside himself when he has leftover risotto or frittata drizzled with truffle oil. It was MrB's plan to get him some when he reached retirement age (10 years). In lieu of all the sad Dol stories we have been hearing lately, MrB went off and got Bubby his own bottle, as life is rather short and you never know. Every week I make him scrambled or poached eggs with a teaspoon of truffle oil on it and he is in heaven!!!!!

I have very well behaved dogs but I like to think I respect them enough to let them express themselves Sure Bubby would eat nothing but meatballs if I let him. But he knows better than that. So he eats his chickens wings, frames, salmon heads etc and only gets his after dinner snacks after he eats his main dinner I don't know why there is so much pride in being "Me Owner, you Fido, you eat nothing but dog food. You shall have no preferences" I dont see any harm in spoiling a well adjusted dog if you have the means and inclination to! I don't need to be a "badass" owner who makes my dogs eat dirty bones to prove that I am boss! No harm for me in washing a bone for the Bubby!

Where Have All The Black Dogs Gone?
Bubitty replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
I love black labs!!! Well I am kind of a lab tart in general! But I prefer a black lab to a yellow! After having goldens I would get a different shade if I were to get a lab! -
 at the cheese! CW EW when Bubby was a wee one year old, he used to bury his trotters. Then when he dug them up they would be caked in mud and he would cry and scream until I washed them clean for him! These days he will go out to play and come to the back door with dirty paws. Some days we are tired and so we are like "Stuff it", we just let him in and ignore the mud. OMG! He cries and wails until we wash off all the dirt off his paws and dry them! I once caught Bubby carrying off his last chicken wing and dropping it next to the Bitty (who was eating her dinner). Then he marched inside, looked up at my meatballs simmering on the stove and wiggled his bum at me! These days if I see him make a move to her carrying his dinner I say "IF YOU LET HER HAVE THAT THERE WILL BE NO AFTER DINNER SNACK BUBBY!!! NONE!!!!! DONT YOU DARE!!!" He will eat his dinner after that threat!

Fed the dogs rockmelon yesterday and was so amused at the differences in the way they reacted! Bitty happily accepted her piece and found a spot to sit and rip the flesh off the skin. Bubby refused to take his piece then cried, then asked to be let in and walked to his bowl. So I had to chop off the skin and cut the fruit into little pieces and put in his bowl which he ate happily! Picky little bastard! He also never holds bones with his paws and is always trying to get me to hold them while he eats. Bitty is a little feral! Really likes to get down and dirty and chomp! Eats anything and everything, very easy going. Bubby wont lick stuff off the floor (waits for Bitty to do it and then will ask me for the fresh stuff) and wont eat shop bought cupcakes or cake mix cupcakes that have the chemical smell to them (have tried several times as they are baked by other people and he spits them out at me). I always find it so amusing how different they are. Its interesting that Bubby is much more picky and fussy given that he was raised by my breeders who are much more "no nonsense" than I am. Bitty is feral but she was a lot more molly coddled as she was raised by us as a baby! They should really be opposite! So do you have a "picky" dog?

Your Opinions Greatly Appreciated :-)

I don't think I have ever thought of ethics as a whole. I know I love the type of breeder my golden breeder is. She does all the relevant health testing, breeds great dogs and is quite ruthless about what is suitable for breeding and what isn't. But I think what makes me value her most as a breeder is that she cares. She plain and simply cares about the dogs and that's the most important thing to me. -
And what a gorgeous lot they are!

This is probably not a quirk but worth mentioning! Bitty LOVES men! Now Bitty is a friendly girl as a rule but my golly gosh that girl LOVES men! If we see a bloke from across the street, she primps and preens and makes googly eyes and wiggles at them until they come over to say hi to her! It is embarrasing and awful! I have had men go up to me and say "Your dog is flirting with me!". The way she does it is sooo obvious too, it actually LOOKS like she is trying to chase after a bloke! Also the other day I had a male roof guy come over to give me a quote for patching up the roof. She was all over him so I had to shut her in the bedroom. She managed to open the bedroom door (I had a scarf tied to the handle which I forgot to remove) and threw herself at this poor fellow! I often think I should hire her out to single women as a conversation starter with men!
-
I really could not choose! I think its more individual personality than anything! My boy is a mummies boy but my girl is one of those bright and bubbly dogs that loves everyone! My boy is more independent whereas my girl just smooches and cuddles all day! Bubby is a one human sort of dog.

Cw ew I was lucky because she could hold from 11pm to 5.30am after the two weeks! I really think it's wise to take at least a week off if you can. Doesn't mean you sit at home all day with puppy on your lap. It's good to have the time to spy on puppy and make sure everything is set up perfectly for when you go back to work! I also used my two weeks to set up the perfect work routine in the morning ie timed myself to see how long it would take to train her, prep treats, take her out etc
-
He is currently reciting "The Raven" with "Bitty" instead of "Lenore"!!!!!!!!!!
-
I took two weeks off. It was good for me in terms of toilet training because I woke up three times a night to take her outside. During the day I had a normal routine and kept her alone for a few hours with toys, treats etc as if I were not home! I would imagine it would be tough to toilet train a puppy all night and then work the next day.

Awww that is so sweet! This is my little man! He is not a cuddlebum in general but he loves his mummy and will sleep on my lap for hours which makes me feel pretty special since he is not into cuddling with anyone/anything else! He also insists that I tuck him in every night! He's not as glitzy and glamourous as the Bitty but he understands me and I wish he could live forever so we could grow old together.

Puppy Bonding With Older Dog
Bubitty replied to Mason_Gibbs's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
My second dog works for me just fine. She is very serious when it comes to work and Chasey often sits and watches her train. What I fear more is her love for Chasey. She just loves him a little too much for my liking and their age difference worries me as one day he may go first. I am not sure how she will cope. I have spent their entire lives trying to separate them but she just adores him. -

By golly gosh she is divine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I just HAVE to bring up this old thread and share his latest gem! Hehehe Last night we were discussing what would happen if there was a worm hole and it sent through 3 more Bitties! Him: Well I would have to keep them cuz Bitties love their Dadas! Me: But four Bitties is too many! Him: Hmm maybe I send one Bitty back to her Dada on the other side of the wormhole Me: But what about the other two Bitties!? Their Dada’s will be missing them! Him: Tough luck! I am keeping at least two! Me: But you don’t need so many Bitties! Him: But I want at least two more Bitties! Parallel universe Dada’s will just have to miss out! Why did then lose them in a wormhole anyway?

If they have never had a dog, I'd find an excellent breeder and get an lovely adult golden! That was my experience for my first dog who was so laid back and just so easy! He was/is just one of those dogs that would sit around, get a pat and cuddle and he never got up to any mischief!
