It might go away by itself overtime CW EW. Bitty came home with two giant tear stains and they just disappeared within a month. One thing I did was I always made sure to keep her eyes dry and wiped away any moisture with some cotton (not too close to the eye).

My dogs always eat before me and I have had no problems at all. I also send them through doors before me! I think its more important that a dog understands to wait when asked.

Bitty was great toilet training wise! She only had about 5 accidents during her entire puppyhood and they were all my fault. Once the poor poppet had diarrhoea in the middle of the night while I was fast asleep, she screamed and yelled in her crate until I woke up to let her out. She didn't even go in her crate the poor thing. I think its probably the puppy's individual personality. Emmy is great to let you know though! Quite a few baby pups would just piddle when they need to wouldn't they?

Things That You Used To Do That You Now Don't
Bubitty replied to corvus's topic in General Dog Discussion
ohhh I must derail your thread and comment on this! I must admit I am a HUGE fan of "the tone". It all started when Bubby had these hotspots and I was told to put metho+bleach on the hotspots. It was horrid and he completely freaked out after I touched him with the cotton swab. He fled from me. I didn't know what else to do cuz I was not going to wrestle down my poor sore baby, so I went up to him, gave him a pat and said "Mummy knows this hurts terribly Bubby but someone told me this will make it all better. Please let mummy put this on Bubby?" He just flopped down on me and didn't move a single muscle while I dabbed both his hotspots with the mix. I am now a believer and regularly use "the tone" to get favours from him! He even babysits with the right tone -
Things That You Used To Do That You Now Don't

I used to ask Bubby to do things and when he didn't I'd be all outraged "OMG You don't respect me as your leader." These days on the rare occasion when he hesitates to do what I ask, I stop, ponder as to whether he has a point and sometimes I change my mind about what I asked him to do. -
GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am so happy for you!!!!

They contain arsenic in them I think!

Aww thanks guys! Bubby is so funny! After dinner last night he was sitting around with Bitty and grinning his little heart out! Almost as if he was saying "I like these birthday celebrations Ma! Bitty is useful for something after all!" My poor Bitty, we were playing soccer with an unsuitable ball last night, she was mid way through dribbling it and then it hit a stick and popped. Poor baby was so upset! She had this crestfallen look like "Oh Mummy, does this mean we can't play soccer anymore?" I must get her another ball today!

Apparently avocadoes are bad for them (I didnt know this before and would give them a bit of avocado milkshake every so often). Also read somwhere that they cant eat walnuts and macadamias. My breeder tells me no raw potato, not sure why though. My Bitty is a complete fruit and veg demon! This morning alone she was given 1/2 a pear, 1/2 a banana, a celery stick, half a mandarin and 1/8 of a rockmelon. She eats more fruit and veg than I do!

Just one more photo of her dinner tonight! And another of Saint Bubby

Thanks Guys! Bitty sends you all a BIG BOUNCE! She started the morning by going on a lovely long romp with her brother at a small beach. The birthday menu today is parmesan crusted lamb chops (deboned for the doggies), roasted veggies and I've just finished making her raspberry cream sponge birthday cake. Will take and post some pictures later.

I can't believe how fast a year has gone by. My little bundle of fluff has grown up into the happiest, silliest and cutest dog who thunders through life as if every day was the BEST DAY EVER. She has taught me so much about love, stolen my husband and given my Bubby a new lease on life.

Ohh I thought I was the only person who had strange rules about what they can or can't do. My lot have it down pat in terms of what is allowed when and what is not always allowed by allowed under certain situations. There are the "This is something you can NEVER do kiddo" and the "Yes you can do this but only while Mummy is cooking and not at any other time" etc

With me, I was finding that the laissez faire way of walking seemed to be carrying over to Honey's heeling. She was not realising that heel meant by-my-heel so then, for example, a stand signal was difficult because she was too far forward of me. I feel I need to maintain consistency to reinforce her training. The longer we train together Im sure it will all fall into place and maybe then I can revise the casual walking. Also I walk her with the kids a lot, so quite often we arent walking at a fast pace and having her stay back with me is very helpful. Ahh I see Dee. Bitty goes all zombie when asked to heel so I guess for me it would feel pretty strange to have her go all zoombie for an hour on a walk.

Clicker Training Footwork In Short Dogs
Bubitty replied to corvus's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I have no idea what dressage is! Is it like if I walk side ways. Left leg to the left and the pull the right leg to meet up with the left leg? I am so unfocused! Supposed to teach Bitty to carry a basket with food but when I hear possible sideways walking my ears perk up! -

ohhh what is a crossover and a sideways walk??? -
I lwt my dogs walk where ever they like as long as they dont pull and get tangled with each other. The way I see it, the walks are for their benefit and enjoyment so I may as well let them sniff and investigate what they like. I am a bit confused though. What does a walk have to do with training? When we train, we train, I am not sure how their positioning on a walk would affect their training?

ohhh thanks for the update! I am still too chicken to use mine!

Selecting A Crate For A Golden Retriever
Bubitty replied to goldee's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would definately go with the XL. I personally bought an XXL for my goldie. She doesn't use it anymore but when she was young, I filled it with eyeless plush toys and she loved spreading her entire body out in it amongst the plush toys. I think space is nice to they can sleep in any position they desire. ETA: My girl is now almost 12 months and is allowed to sleep anywhere she likes. You can just crate them until you trust them enough to let them sleep whereever. Dont have to crate forever if you dont want to! -
I will be looking at this thread with interest since I have always wanted to know! I adore Labs (never met one I didn’t like) and always wonder how different are they to my goldies.
-
Bitty: Always enthusiastic! Always "Oh Mummy! Where have you been all my life! Bitty WUBS you!" Bubby: Only excited to see me after I have dumped him at his breeders for a while! Then he does crazy zoomies and jumps all over me and plasters me with kisses! He is too calm that dog!

Would You Eat Food Offered To You By A Dog?
Bubitty replied to Bubitty's topic in General Dog Discussion
You’ve set yourself up now C! If you ever visit Sydney you will be eating an entire meal served by her! Not just canapes! :p Labsrule: Of course there will be photos! I just need her NOT to drop the basket whenever I touch it! We worked on it a bit more last night. -

This will be your waitress: But I'll tell her to make sure she's well presented enough to serve food!
