I like Jim to walk at loose lead to my left, a little bit ahead is fine, but when I say 'heel' he will slow down to get back in a heel position. If we are having a sauntering walk on his 6m lead he can go anywhere

BMP - you can borrow our makeshift weave poles if you want They are just PVC piping, with the sprinkler stakes (after D destroyed the sprinkler system -- see dad, he was just preparing for agility) shoved in the bottom - easy to make!
-
Is the issue that he can't weave or that he won't listen to you? Is it just on the weave poles?
-
poor little man did he eat his dinner yet?
-
Hrm... well let us know when you see them what they are like! What do you trim on a Brittany without scissors? Throat?
-
I think poodlefan would be referring to these one speed: two speed: rather than 'pet clippers' that Paula posted.
-
Nah Paula, that one is also useless

:D I saw him work with Oprah's "dog agressive" cocker on one of her shows. In that case he was more emphasising handler error and owner issues I wouldn't mind watching the show...

You could do a search.. I have a big dog and he gets whole chicken carcasses, lamb flaps, roo tails, assorted 'soup bones' and 'off cuts'

aww that is a real shame thinking of you sas

Tear Stains, Again............................

We cut the hair off nb: not ideal on a show dog! I agree with T-time you have to work at it and I've advised some of my clients to add ACV to their food/water and it is slowly making a difference. -
How Long Does It Take To Groom Your Dogs?

I would LOVE to see some pictures of your family of OES Dieter is very wash and wear, he gets a bath about once a month (or when he goes swimming) and probably a weekly brushing, more if he is blowing his coat... ugh! -
Thinking of you Mel... how is Scamp going?
-
What I learnt from this board is that if you include the yolk (ie feed a whole egg) it cancels out this effect?

Onions... hrm do a search on dangerous food more should come up, but that's the one I stay away from. Try a lot of leafy greens and you have to make sure that all veggies are blended down or juiced. Nah, not really thought I better add: you can liken it to the bacteria in the gut of their prey and the half digested foods in the intestines/stomach, but if you want to compare to wolves they don't really eat that part... or so I've read. I'd also like to add about the dinosaur bones that they are very hard and can wear down the teeth so don't feed them too often and once the knuckle bit is gone throw them away.

Well aside from Dieter having every toy imaginable, and most of the basic black dog accessories I have cupboards FULL of brushes, sprays, shampoos/conditioners and I only have the one boy If you have a lot of stuff that isn't suitable for your dogs or you don't want to use it, don't forget about rescue groups

Some groomers will do a prep clip and that is roughing in a dog and getting the matts off before a bath, often they'll use skip blades for this and yes it does blunt the blades, but you are saving shampoo and drying time. Some groomers will instead wash a dog, HV (or not) and clip the dog WET, but you can only do this with cordless clippers for obvious reasons. This is actually faster and you can often get a longer blade under the hair - of course the finish is crap so you dry the dog (sometimes rewash in neccessary) and then finish. Don't leave the blades sitting wet, dry them off immediately and oil well. You have to weigh up what will work best for you.

fish scalers ;) or shedding blades/shedding loops they have like a saw edge, can kinda see it here

I give up with Dieter ;) I have tried and tried to get his bum/leg hair smooth and in the same direction, but the day after a bath, blowdry and brush it is all skewwiff again because of the way he sleeps. I would swap your shampoos around

My Siamese had a lot of ear problems and even needed them flushed, antibiotics the whole works. I've gone from cleaning them daily, weekly and now monthly with Aristopet ear cleaner (after he finished all his medication). I also use it on Jimmers, but he doesn't need his ears cleaned all that much. At work we use Leo ear cleaner too, so that is also a good one - I will probably buy it next, but I still have plenty of the other stuff left :thumbsup
