 I wouldn't rub olive oil into the coat - it'll just make a greasy mess Are you talking about the GSD in your sig? He could just be going through a coat change to his adult coat - in which case just keep brushing and it'll settle in a few weeks. Oh just saw you were talking about his friend - he is also a pup?

Different Behaviour On The Move
Vehs replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I think you are spot on with the bored/frustration. Dieter gets bored when we are standing still and he is idle - If I can't let him offlead I have found I need to give him a job to do such as going in to extended stays or get him to give me his paws. While not aggressive he will bark at other dogs to get them to come over and play if he isn't distracted by his tasks.... The other mum borrowed him for her walking group around the lake, when they stopped to stretch he (being onlead and tied to a log) began barking at them to get moving again! Now she's going to put him into stays... Also, generally, when people are walking the are confident assertive and the dog just follows along - a different, more relaxed, stance was probably taken when you were trying to enjoy your drink! -
I'm doing Trivia at PJs, 6pm Wednesday - I usually get a lift to Woden afterwards. I could have a drink before then though?

Do Dogs Know That Different Houses Have Different Ruls?
Vehs replied to Loraine's topic in General Dog Discussion
D gets up on the couches at mum's house, but not at my house.... but mum just bought another leather reclining lounge so he is slowly learning to not jump on that. D really struggled with not being allowed inside at my friends house - we took him to visit her dogs and horses and run around on her property we didn't take him to lock him outside! But I think if he visits there more often he'd understand that we don't disappear once we are inside and abandon him. -
are you staying with Kaywoman? I'll have to see what bf is working as to if our weekends are free, but I'm usually free Monday and Thursday nights - happy to meet in the city for a drink/dinner then.

great photos! I purposely left my dog at my parents house while I went out with my Mum so he could sit under their huge second story deck and keep dry..... but no he sat on the uncovered back door step. Sometimes I think he does just to get a towel rub down -- lurves it!

freak!!! I bought a bunch of bananas the other week and found that one of them was actually two... so it was just in one casing, but very large with a bit if a middle seam dent. I didn't want it eat it incase it rendered me infertile with its radioactivity so I used it to bake banana bread for my bf

Happy Birthday Clever Boy!

Dan - your dog will always be in the wrong. Just talk very loudly to Boo about the situation so the irresponsible owners can hear you. I did just that yesterday with the D, "Oh, it's no wonder you are upset, you are so excited to goto the dog park and these rude dogs won't let you in and keep barking at you" :D

Why Does My Dog Poo Every Time I Do The "poo Patrol"?
Vehs replied to fiveplusone's topic in General Dog Discussion
I thought it was because the stirred up/disturbed smell of poo made them want to poo... D usually poops after another dog goes as well and without fail when I am minding cats and clean their litter trays they drop a fresh one in I use bio degradable bags when I bag poo... but mostly we just avoid that corner of the yard - breaks down in days anyway. -
I had a few days off work because I was sick and I'm pretty sure by the end of the 4th day Dieter had had enough of me. He obviously has duties he likes to attend to when I'm not around. He likes to patrol the yard, I know that much, but other times when left to his own devices he just seems to be enjoying the outdoors He also loves to destroy his toys - thankfully he knows what he can rip up and what he can't.

so friggen cute - the 2nd photo!

our dogs don't hump each other - D used to like to pick out a dog at the park and hump it. But the little dog always likes to hump his 'humpy' soft toy after eating dinner

Large Dogs And Small Dogs Living Together?
Vehs replied to ash&elar's topic in General Dog Discussion
those that say supervision is important - do you have seperate yards for the dogs during the day or is one kept inside/outside? I have a GSD and bf has a malt x and we can't/won't live together as the dogs cannot be securely seperated during the day. They get on fine when we are watching them (weren't so good in the beginning) but I'd hate for anything to happen to one of them so we don't leave them alone. eta: plan for the future is to buy a house with a yard that can be easily divided (my yard atm can't) and work from there to see if we are happy to leave them alone -
