  1. Yup bf has his own dog - it's sorta how we met and started going out so I probably owe a fair bit to the little mutt, but his dog can also be quite a pain! LOL

    Tess

So sorry Pheebs Tess had great legs
  3. I bought D and Taz some rawhide christmas crackers and D a squeaky green duck He also has as squeaky toy (still wrapped) from my SS and the dog I was just dogsitting owner's have give him a gift as well. So he'll get 4 presents to open on Christmas morning
  4. Before I joined the gym D used to get a 20min run in the mornings and a 45min walk in the arvo (half off lead). Now he's just getting a 45min walk in the arvo (except for this week when he's got a visitor and I'm doing a 20min walk in the morning and 45min in the evening so they are sorta tuckered out in the morning). On the weekends I TRY to do a longer walk around the lakes, go swimming or goto the dog park
  5. I hope you find out what's wrong with your dog. My dog, who's pretty dominant, sleeps on my bed - but it's an invitation not an entitlement. He has to wait to be asked if he wants to come up. If bf stays over he doesn't even bother asking, and some weeks I'll have an expensive cover on the bed and he's not allowed up on those nights. He generally gets off the bed halfway through the night anyway...
  6. oh! I didn't even know this was on!! oh well was baby sitting anyway - Happy Birthday!
  7. big paws - I hope you aren't! I didn't think pet insurance was worth it when I was investigating it. mys - very personal decision. You would have to consider quality of life, expected lifespan of the animal and what you can afford. I've spent a lot on my pets over the years and don't regret it at all - it's just money. But it does make me think I need to get a decent amount of money in account for them in the future to avoid the scramble I'm in atm!
  8. ooh thanks Clyde! I keep my few les pooch very close, but now I can buy some for a few friends that like using my brushes!
  9. I'm going to have to catch up on the website - it's been ages since I visited!
  10. I had a fellow groomer send them over from America to me - better to just have a google or check their webpage for any Australia suppliers. I think a rake would be a much better brush for your border, but if he has matty pants then a les pooch could help.
  11. you could shave it, or just wait till it falls off or grows out if it was me I would try eucalyptus oil on a cotton ball to dissolve it and then wash the area really well, but knowing my dog and the amount he is shedding I could just pull it and it would losen the hair and fall off!
  12. http://www.rogz.com/home.htm I got a flat spice podz (??) for my Shep, he uses it indoors on carpet - I vacuum it 1-2 a week and wash it after his monthly bath. I don't find the hair too intensive to remove from it. Not sure it would be ideal for arthritic support
  13. D and I won't make it - but I think you might see a few others demoing doggie dancing!
  14. Paula - do you need us to bring anything, drinks/nibblies/pizza toppings? We might aim to get there at 3:30 - I'm bringing Jason and seeing as I won't actually be buying any shoes I won't torture him to sit through all the trying on
  15. :p how about plus ones and dads? jk, I'll only bring one extra!
  16. Back to the OP Yes I teach my dog tricks and did more of them when he got older and had all the boring obedience and being well behaved down pat. It keeps him stimulated and I know he enjoys it much more than obedience as he gets really excited when he sees the clicker come out. It also helps to keep him occupied on rainy days or, because he recently ripped off a nail, when he can't go for runs and walks.
