  1. oh god wags I'm so sorry to hear this - he was such a great dog
  2. a rake and a HV dog blow dryer - cuts out all the work basically!
  3. we had to wait til D was 2 anyway because of his developing joints, but there were some oldie rescue does in our classes that went fine
  4. those are some good innings...
  5. Not difficult or uncomfortable here - D will goto my parentals and continued to be worshipped and adored
  6. hrm, well I do currently use a leave in for him, but even with clients dogs I find the conditoned coat takes longer and that is after a proper rinsing - but its a life saver when it comes to getting coat out so it's a trade off I was taught not to condition anything I'd clip or scissor because of the finish, but maybe I will practice that on the fiances dog and see if does make a difference LOL
  7. My GSD isn't a long coat but conditioning helps his blown coat come out better and this time of year his skin is drier so I use a leave in oatmeal one If you do use conditioner it will take longer to dry

    Bread Dog

I saw that and thought it was cute not so cute that she's allowed to wander the streets freely though...
  9. Not really re the length of the teeth, just make sure that they are long enough to reach the skin through the coat when you are brushing, with longer coats you may have to do layer brushing where you hold the top layers off and brush the underlayers and then slowly drop the top layers What breeds are you considering in the future?
  10. zug zug - you can always force their nails thru an old stocking to keep the hair back
  11. Yup, the quick will grow down the nail if you leave the nails long The best time, I find, to get the biggest chunks off my boy's nails is after he's been swimming and running on sand - not only is he tired (although he gets his nails done weekly so he's well behaved) but the quick has receded so I can get more off If you can get a pen light/tiny torch you can shine it under her nail and see where the quick is and cut just before it (that is if she lets you handle her foot easily)
  12. oh gosh what a cutie! and they grow up SO fast!!!
  13. yup and medications when D was on atopica I could tell he smelt different - when he came off it he got his old smell back. It wasn't a bad smell, just different
  14. christ that was painstaking! the wind must have been blowing in the wrong direction LOL I don't think D or I would have had the patience for that
  15. can't wait to see the new shots! :D
  16. hrm, maybe I'll try it - but it just doesn't seem 'right' LOL if it's tasty I'm sure he'll eat it
  17. why not just give her a fish oil capsule or just give her a tin of sardines for dinner once a week?
  18. bahaha that Cody is a character - love that one of her pushing the treat on your OH's shoulder
  19. aww I love #5 - butter wouldn't melt! I'm sure she'll give you that face often... when she's been up to no good! LOL
  20. Not good here either - luckily there was an ($$) alternative for my boy but he was a completely different dog for the few days he was on them very 'sad' (it was heartbreaking)... and thirsty
