that thought never entered my mind, but you're probably right. I was once at an elephant rescue place in Thailand, the elephants took tourists on their backs through a bit of jungle track. But after that, they had the them perform stupid tricks for the tourist which I refused to watch, so undignified for such a majestic animal. Not putting every Asian in the same basket, but, in general, because a lot of Asians and Africans struggle just to live, they really don't have the same regard for animals as the western world. Don't forget those poor bears that live a life of misery because the Chinese want their bile for medicine. Asians are notorious for being exceptionally cruel to any creature they can exploit for their own financial gain. Sad but true

Talking about spare part, I'm after a tray for a medium wire crate. I've given up on asking Sab & Gloria, they keep telling me they're gonna get one for me, but it never happens. Preferably plastic, anyone know?

Personally, it doesn't really affect me as I've always waited till my bitches are around 2 before mating them. That's my personal choice, I want them to grow up first, However, the inconsistancies with all of this is just rediculous.

Aunt Kills Dog Because It Chewed On Bible.
Puppoochi replied to Freshstart16's topic in Dog Cruelty and Abuse News
This woman is obviously seriously disturded. That poor dog, I hope his suffering was short. It's beyond my comprehension how anyone can inflict such pain on any creature. It's the woman that is the demon here. -
2 Dogs Die After Being Dragged Behind Car
Puppoochi replied to kirsty79's topic in Dog Cruelty and Abuse News
OMG, that's just so tragic and horrific. What I'm wondering is, didn't the dogs make any noise while they were being dragged? Maybe he had the radio on full blast? Who know? Those poor dogs, what a horrific end to life. -
Yay Syrah, she's a clever girl. I'll be there for sure. First appointment in VIC for Group 7 Judge Diane Shackleford. Diane actually grooms a bitch that I bred, I would imagine that it wouldn't be right for this girl to be shown under her, correct me if I'm wrong. Diane will probably tell me to groom her instead if she's entered. Dunno???

nope they're not selling. It's good to see Gloria showing again, I missed her yelling from the distance "I"M COMING,I'M COMING"

According to one of my groomer friends, loose patellas are rife in both toy and mini poodles. I know of one particular breeder (who I have no respect for and shall remain nameless) that has a bitch with very loose patellas, did that stop her from breeding this bitch. NO. Yet, this particular person is continually spreading untrue rumours about other dogs and people as well for that matter. Are they in a position of power. You betcha. Only one answer. MANDATORY TESTING!!!!!! The ANKC have a lot to answer for

I keep the dogs that I'm not showing in a short pet trim, much easier that way. However the dogs get cold so I made them some coats. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/poodifultoypoo...ore/AQUAMAZ.jpg http://www.facebook.com/album.php?id=18061...8&aid=26075 And the girls are always wearing their 5 Row Diamante collars.

Buying A Main Registered Dog
Puppoochi replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
Having Toy Poodles and knowing how exploited this breed is by puppy farmers, I NEVER sell to someone on full register to someone that is unknown to me. I care about my dogs and the pups. I sure as hell never want one of my beautiful bubs to end up in a breeding box for the rest of it's life. If I don't know you, I will only offer you co-ownership, to protect my bubs from a life of misery. Even if you are a member of the breed club, you have to prove yourself to be someone I can trust. It's not about safeguarding my lines, it's about protecting the dogs. Just because someone is a registered breeder, doesn't mean they care about the animals themselves. A lot of registered breeders in Toy Poos are puppy farmers themselves, and I do my homework and I know who not to sell to. Also, I would never sell a dog for show unless I would put them in the ring myself. Anyone who is quick and eager to sell on full register, you must be wary of. They are intersested in the almighty $$$, not the dog. In the big scheme of things, I am only relatively new myself and found it difficult to find a breeder to sell me my first "show dog". I advertised on a site that I care not to mentiion, but I did get my first show dog this way. I knew nothing about lines etc. but got lucky and got my foundation bitch from what one might refer to as a registered back yard breeder. Lucky for me (because I didn't know shit from clay back then) I got something that had nice lines and was of a quality to put in the ring. i have had one Lady who is a member of my breed club wanting something to show, BUT, because I don't really know her, I offered co-ownership, which she wasn't interested in. There are many top showies that co-own, there's nothing wrong with it. Have a look at the top winning dogs, you will see quite a few that are co-owned. I have also sold a bitch on co-ownership which I have since put in the Lady's name because I now TRUST her. You have to prove yourself to be a trustworthy person. Be open to Co-ownership, so long as the contract is fair, and if you are really interested in showing, DON"T EXCLUDE BOYS!!! You are more likely to get a boy, than a girl as your first show dog, because a lot of breeders can't keep too many boys, AND it is a lot easier to title a boy as there are many more girls in the ring than boys. I hope you find a show puppy, and I wish you all the best, be patient, ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT!!!! Oh I forgot, yes I do sell a dog for more on full register. My prices also vary depending on colour and sex, it's to do with supply and demand. Yes, I want the best price I can get according to the market value at that time. -
owner found via tattersalls key tag. Dogs Vic and the secretary were no help at all even though the person who lost the keys left their details etc. The secretary told me no-one reported lost keys, which was not true at all. The owner had to call the RACV to help. Makes you wonder don't it.

don't know how they got there but I've got them

Rabies Vaccinations Prevent Culling Thousands Of Stray Dogs
Puppoochi replied to Boronia's topic in In The News
This must be the reason why there is a shortage of the vaccine atm. -
No, I don't think she has spoken to the vet. She also still has one perfectly healthy pup at her house. I also don't attend shows when I have pups on the ground, better to be safe than sorry. If I had not asked these people first, if they had visited another breeder (it was actuallly a farm), they would have just waltzed into my home and perhaps infected my pups and property. I am sad that the puppy died but it makes me very paranoid now.
-
the pup was around 7 weeks old when vaccinated, and I don't think it was still nursing. The bitch did not get vaccinated before or during pregnancy, she is fully vaccinated, and I have no idea what brand of vaccine was used.

I had some people from Geelong come to look at my pups about 6 weeks ago (my pups are now 12 weeks old) They were running late, said they got lost, I live in St Kilda, they were calling from South Gippsland Hwy. Before they came in, I asked if they had been to another breeder, they said yes,I said to them they could be compromising the health of my pups, I made them take off their shoes before entering and I made them wash their hands as well. I did not allow them to pick up the pups from the pen. I didn't sell them a puppy because they wanted me to hold one without a deposit, and they wanted the pick of the litter. They pissed me off and I decided to not sell to them. They soon found out how hard it is to get a white female. I put them on to my friend that had a white girl for sale. Her pups are 2 weeks younger than mine. They picked up the pup at 8 weeks, yes the pup had it's first C3 shot. They phoned my friend this morning to tell her the pup had died from Parvo. They claim that they didn't let the pup out for walks and they also said they had let another dog play with the pup. They also told my friend the only other pups they saw were mine, which was a blatant lie. I'm so glad these people didn't get one of my pups and yes I'm sorry that I referred them to my friend.

Woman 'smashed Puppy Against Wall' In Western Australia

I for one do. Someone has to have the power to stop the inhumane treatment of our beloved dogs. What is your sollution to stop puppy farms?
-
Pam, where are these huge numbers of puppies? Who has the microchipping database? Put the numbers on the table and then some of these claims might be more believable. The advertisements for puppies in newspapers has almost disappeared over the last few years. I don't see pet shops overflowing with puppies and I don't see anywhere the numbers of puppies in rescue situations ..... certainly nothing like the numbers that we saw say 15 years ago. Puppy mills are disgusting places and I have no argument with all breeders being licensed and subject to regulations. I support that model. What I cannot support is emotive claims that cannot be backed up with facts and are claims that are likely to lead to politicians rushing through legislation that is designed to do nothing other than capture the "popular vote". We have seen this happen before and we dont want to see it happen again. Dogs deserve better than to be the pawns of politicians. Souff Pam gave a link of just one puppy farmer, here it is again http://www.banksiaparkpuppies.com/new/life...k/daily-routine

Maybe it's because there's not really much that sets the average registered breeder apart from BYB & puppy farmer. The only thing I see that sets them apart is a piece of paper that comes along with the dog. They'll just have egg on their face if they go along. What sets the registered breeder apart from a puppy farm is intent and attitude. These dictate how breeding and care of the dogs is undertaken. Anyone who visits a registered breeder (probably to buy a pup) can readily ascertain that. poodiful1 Permission and the act are not necessarily linked together. You have, by signing off on the articles of membership, broken an oath if you are a pf. Ethics make the difference. I don't know about your breed, but in Toy Poodles, there are registered unethical breeders, one in particular has 64 dogs listed on their website, they don't show or participate in any activities. They take pride in the fact they have most coloured pups available ALL THE TIME. C'mon, you can't tell me that these people have ethics or follow the code. The code of ethics isn't worth the paper it is written on. Our governing body doesn't seem to care about the dogs from these types of breeders, it is their CASH COW and so long as one registers all pups and follows the rules and regs, they do nothing.

yep, yet again you are wrong, if you actually watched his shows you would see he has worked with many red zone fluffys.... those bull breed dogs he has worked with that are red zone were made that way by their owners, if you actually watched the show he explains where they went wrong every time... no the average owner doesnt have the ability to fix a red zone case, but they sure have the ability to bring the dog up right in the first place, many choose not to, is that the dogs fault? (or the breeds fault?) Red Zone cases are those which he takes with him to his Dog Psychology Centre for special rehabilitation
-
What does that tell me about you?
-
I wish I could see it, however I'm in a bad spot (mobile modem) even though I'm only 5km out of Melbourne. I watch Caesar all the time and I don't recall him ever having a little fluffy as what he refers to as a red zone case that he has to take to his dog psychology centre. Could you please describe the story to me.
