Kill it???? Not only is this against the law, but puts the OP in a likely position of getting bitten. Most snake bites occur when inexperienced people try to catch or kill a snake.

^^This particular person has just started work today, so probably can't be of any assistance. I don't know any snake relocaters in NSW I'm afraid. Try calling 1300 REPTILE (1300 737 845) as it is a 'National' contact number. Adam there has catchers located in many areas and may be able to help. If not, he may know of someone in your area.

That's classified.

They are all lovely SLF and I can see why you'd want to keep the all! I have the same problem EVERY litter! I just worked out who you are too, as I've seen you around the Sth West FB pages!

There have been a few threads about this topic. Perhaps have a read HERE

Dasha it looks like you're next. How are things going there? Is your girl looking noticeably pregnant yet??? What's the latest there, SLF? *Edited as I can't spell for shyt!

Physically yes, they are under the same roof with separate entrances but I don't think there is any business connection. I happen to use the vet, but as far as I am aware, they are two separate entities. Glad that the vet manager called to check on you. As someone else has said, I also believe the vets would have done everything they could. Geez I'd be amazed if there was NO connection..... even if the Groomer is Sub-Contracted by the Veterinarian/Practice Owner. IF (IF!!!) The groomer is simply leasing space from the clinic and there IS no association between them, then the Vet needs to rid itself of this Groomer ASAP, as it's new-found reputation will have great affect on the Clinic as well.

That's so scary. Take care, DOLers!

I agree with Crickets on all counts. I have groomed in many salons over many years, and without complete negligence such an incident simply wouldn't occur. While I don't wish to sound callous, and it's probably the last thing on your mind right now, but I would seek legal advice sooner ratyher than later. They should pay for such a total screw up and possibly such action will stop them operating. As Crickets said, there is no real regulation within the industry and every Vet Clinic, Pet Store and Boarding Kennel can simply begin a "professional" grooming service with ZERO experience, or in this case, a complate lack of professionalism, and unfortunately now, you have paid the price for this. I feel so sad for you, but also very angry, as I have heard of such 'accidents' far too many times over the years. We're thinking of you here.

Tell me about it...... my shift started at 8am here and I don't knock off til 7! It got to 42.6 here, may have been hotter elsewhere around town. What's more, it's been really quiet today (due to being too hot to go shopping!) so the day has totally dragged... I love the heat, but hate being stuck in here on a hot day. Poor Chantel had to do a Wildlife Presentation in Port Fairy today. She was able to find a nice shady spot on a lawn, but with the temperatures even in the shade the snakes would have been at least a bit 'feisty'...

Pop into the Vizsla Breed Sub-Forums..... there are plenty there who show, including Wires.

I take it she was all done at 6 pups SLF? Congratulations!!!
-
Excellent! Hope it's not too hot where you are..... Hope things continue to go well!
-
It's very quiet in here.... still only four January litters??? Good luck there, SLF.... only a matter of time now!

They are a lovely dog.... Thanks for posting. :)

Great News, Dasha! My girl is only 3 weeks along but has already lost her lovely waist! She's also become Mother Hen.... has collected a whole lot of her plush toys that we haven't seen for months and they are now in a pile on her bed, and be warned anyone who tries to take one!!!

Sheridan you should get a Gordon Setter :), we do a lot for our pet owners, a grooming and fun day, a field trial training day/BBQ and a winter walk in one of our local parks. We also run an obedience trial, we are definitely NOT 'all about showing'. I agree that Breed Clubs are all about competition, but not necessarily about conformation showing.... Many breed clubs try hard to cater for the 'pet owner' too, with fun days and get-togethers. These are a great opportunity to encourage owners to become competitive with their companions....

Off Topic a little, but I am amazed that if this Club is the LAST Maltese Club in Australia to be ending, how is there not enough NATIONAL interest in maintaining just one club? I know with my breed, many owners are members of more than one state breed club, or are simply members of a breed club not in their state. If members of former clubs joined/remained members of this one last breed club, surely there would be enough members for the club to carry on? At least then, there could be an annual Specialty Ch Show etc for members to attend, regardless of the state in which they reside.....

Yeah the Danes are pretty imposing! Poor Lacey! It looked like a pretty shi**y day weather-wise for a walk. I'll be in Melbourne this Sunday so I'm going to try and get Tarni to Killarney Saturday arvo. She's only 3-4 weeks pregnant but she's 'showing' already so I don't know how many more opportunities I'll have to take her down there for a good run! She'll be rolling along the beach! Anyhow, I don't come in here very often so I shall take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Vet Recommendation - Ferntree Gully, Vic
jerojath replied to goldielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
I used Boronia Vet for years when I lived in Melbourne. I stopped using them when I heard they were "in tight" with ACA Breeders (puppy farm) and often had special 'offers' for people buying those puppies. I never supported the clinic after that. -
QUOTE: We went for our beach walk on Sunday, boy it was windy down there, the sea was roaring and the sand was so soft, not a good combo for me, but we had a short walk them onto the cafe near the surf club for lunch. Bugger it! I would have loved to have gone too but there was nothing here about a time or place? Maybe I should take the plunge and get a mobile phone.... I see Jasmine & Ashley joined you - lovely family. :)
-
Problem with this is the urine goes straight through to the base where bacteria will then flourish.... not a healthy environment for puppies. I have mine out on the grass most of the time, and am able to move the pen daily for a thorough clean-up. When I have them in under the roof, I have them on shavings.

THREE Girls in the 'Dolls' aisle at K-Mart....... how'd you think it went???? No, they're pretty good really. They save up their pocket money before christmas and each buy something for the wishing tree. All went well until little Jemma worked out she had to leave the doll behind for someone else!!! She talked about your "cutey bubby" most of the afternoon though! :) Isn't shopping horrible this time of year? It's so busy. I hate it. We do our Christmas shopping all throughout the year, so we never have to worry about finding much this close to Chrissy, thank Dog! Did anyone end up getting together for a walk???? Hey Congrats RJ!!! Can't wait for puppy pics now he's home! So........ have we decided upon a name as yet????
