WoW! All those cars sound great! Who'd have thought! I love my cars and miss them, but I just can't afford it now I'm doing the family 'thing' - gotta get ones priorities right, 'eh? One fond (?) memory I have was when I was living between Melbourne and Portland and wanted to get home (Portland) quickly after work one Christmas Eve. I was in my little RX-3 coupe (13B Peripheral Port/ 51mm IDA Webber etc for those that know!) and was flying along the princes toward Warrnambool. Got caught on radar and pulled over (eventually) and was caught doing 156kph. I said to the officer: "What? Couldn't have been doing THAT!" And he said to me: "I got you at that speed on the brakes!" Bugger! Would love to have known what I was doing.... speedo wasn't at all accurate! Lost my licence for a long time. Even now after all these years, I always triple-check my speed coming into town near the Premier track! Quoll - forget about the rose... I need a new martingale show lead! Now. Back to dogs....................

hahahaha, yeah looks like it hey... That's Tim's project car, getting it ready to take to Melb to get stuff done to it... I know this is but I have to know.... what sort of car is it? And tlc - what does your OH have? Before I had kids I was always into cars - used to race early (70's) Mazdas. With a bit of work I could get their weight down to a little over 700kg and the BHP to around 500! That's naturally aspirated too; my Turbo (T04) was around 600+BHP! That car would do the 1/4 mile in 9.88 seconds. Sorry, I'm no doubt boring you all, but your Hubbies would love it!!!

stonebridge - Glad to hear she is picking up again - all the best!!

Looks like that's it for October Litters..... Best of luck to all those expecting! ;)
-
WOW that went quick!! How exciting!! Yes it's exciting, but I don't feel like I've recovered fro the last litter yet! :D A large litter especially, is very demanding of my time - bottle feeding when necessary, sleepless nights, cleaning, paper work etc. Thank God this is the last litter for at least a couple of years....

I am also in Warrnambool (Hi Pandii! ). Depending on where abouts you are in Melbourne, it shouldn't take 5 hours. I go to Melbourne from time to time and as long as peak-hour traffic between Geelong & the city is avoided, you can usually do the trip in about 3.5 hours - especially with the new Geelong by-pass. If you are coming up on the Princes, Colac is a good place to stop. There is a big central park with toilet facilities right in the heart of town. Dogs are allowed there (leashed) so just bring some poop bags along in the car. Enjoy Warrnambool! *If you have any specific questions regarding Warrnambool, feel free to pop into the Warrnambool thread in the DOL social events section of this forum.

Yes, and I'VE SEEN your Troopy with mud over the door-seals..... any pics?

Sorry all, wont be able to make it to Killarney. The Mrs. wants to take the kids out while the weather is so good so I wont have the car. I'll take the dogs out later this afternoon, and may be free for a mid-week walk if anyone is interested? Tez - do you need some help at your place clearing after the storm? I could get out there tomorrow if I could be of any assistance...
-
Yep - I'm happy with 12:00, will check in here to make sure there is no changes, but otherwise will see you then. Belle WILL be happy! Does everyone know where we are talking about? Just in case.... Head to Port Fairy, Once driving through Killarney, turn left onto Mahoneys Rd (Antique place on L/H Corner), Follow all the way down until you see sign for boat ramp (dirt track to left), Continue along dirt track, veering left at the fork, and you'll come to a car park right at the end of the track. That's where we'll be...
-
TLC - I always go and park at the end of Basin Track (Off Mahoneys Rd, turn left at sign to boat-ramp, follow track all the way to the end) as it is usually very quiet. Hardly ever run into anyone there. I find on a Sunday at Gormans lane there are lots of horses and at the main beach car park (end of Mahoneys Rd) there are normally lots of dog-walkers. Im easy with times, so will fit in with what suits everyone else! Pandii - No I wasn't in any trouble - I was home by 1am and left your OH to it! HE would have been in a state when he got home - I was a good boy. Chantel and her sister have been doing heaps of opp-shopping so I'm sure they'd be up for it; give her a call.....
-
Thanks Tez for the Royal well-wishes! I'm just gonna take a bottle of whiskey along and enjoy myself and catch up with interstate friends. If we win - bonus! I would love to get to Killarney on Sunday. If a few are interested, nominate a time as I'm easy.

Hi tlc - Yep, that was my brother (he aint heavy...) and my sister in law was the producer or director or something. My Father took my two eldest kids and my neice (who is staying with us) to see it and they thought it was great! Re: Shop opening - he told me 4 to 6 weeks, but that was a couple of weeks ago. He's all ready to go and is just waiting on others now. All his shelf stock is ordered and much has arrived, so he's mainly waiting on all his display tanks to be built (Sydney) and delivered/installed. This is all happening now so sould be open within a week of all that being installed. There are a lot of people glad he is doing this.

Hey Pandii, I saw a beautiful Shar Pei go past my house a couple of days ago - very dark (black?) beautiful mover and the most shiny coat! Just wondering if you know of them. Really lovely looking dog.... for a Pei .

Tarni will be fine. Thanks! No I'm not expecting to do well at the Royal - only showing Amy because she is entered and the RASV is very strict; being in whelp is not an acceptable reason to not show her, unless she was about to drop. There is a big entry of very high quality vizslas, and while ordinarily Amy could hold her own amongst such company, she is starting to 'show' now and has lost her waiste-line. She is also a bit out of condition and a bit over weight (in readiness for nursing) so I'm not expecting great things. Then again, we may have a judge who can look beyond such things and judge her accordingly, so you never know! :D
-
I haven't been walking much. I've been spending a bit of time with Donna James of late, preparing Amy and her Ringo for the Royal next Thursday. Amy has deffinately slowed down a bit with her pregnancy - tiring easier and a bit short of breath, so besides her show-ring training I haven't been excercising her too much. Tarni has been at the Vet earlier this week after injuring her eye crashing through the scrub down at the river. She is on meds and improving well but have been keeping her fairly quiet, so poor Belle has really been missing out this week! Will try to get them all to Killarney at some stage over the weekend, so let me know if you lot are getting out there....

stonebridge, sorry to hear about your beautiful girl - hope she is ok now. Congratulations are due for her daughter, though! Looking forward to puppy pics!

Lots of Aussie post-grads go working in the UK for the better pay. They come back to Oz and find work with higher salary as they are then more experienced.

Happy Birthday Shannon! The big 3 0 !!! Hope you have a great day! :D :D :D ;) :D

Why is there a common misconception that vets are rolling in dough? Most vets I know (especially juniors) do it pretty hard!
