  1. Generally, vizslas are wonderful family dogs for those with young children but I certainly would not say they are a 'must have' breed. They definately are not the breed for everyone and I suggest your friend does plenty of research, meets lots of dogs and numerous breeders before commiting to the breed if they did get serious about the vizsla. Of course they are more than welcome to visit us and meet our dogs/kids etc, and talk about the breed. Yes this litter was 'pre sold' before the mating happened. I wont have a litter if I haven't secured good homes first. I wont be breeding again for at least two years but could steer your friends to a good breeder should they get that far.
  2. Yep - he's a really big boy. Was born bigger than the others but rarely stops feeding. He is SO fat he's the only one now who can't walk - he's too heavy for his little legs!
  3. I went down for a look at about 11:30 - 12:00. Only one ring active over the time I was there - not much happening. Didn't run into any 'old faces' either - no Vizslas entered from what I could see. The 'World Dog Games' are being held in Canberra this weekend - I think there are/will be some good clips on youTube....
  4. Wishing you lots of luck Ellz, for little 'purple'.
  5. Here are some pics of the pups - two weeks old today....
  6. Yeah I might get down tomorrow for a look. Off to Melbourne Sunday with Tarni (Chapionship Show) so won't get down then.
  7. So sorry to hear that Whipitgood. At least you know you did everything to help her along...
  8. God, I hope she hangs in there, Whipitgood. Thinking of you...
  9. I'm always here BB - just give me the nod!
  10. Hope all goes well from this point Whipitgood. We're all thinking of you!
  11. HUGE congrats to you Ellz on your little girls!!! Hope all goes well with them both.
  12. Whipitgood & Ellz..... any complants if I moved you to the November Litters thread????
  13. Oooooh! Sounds like it's 'go' time! Good Luck!
  14. Aw, C'mon! Whipitgood? Ellz? Anyone????
  15. Oooooh Not long now, Whipitgood! We expect news 'as it happens' here......
  16. Congratulations Rascal on your beaut little boys! Whipitgood - Any movement in your camp?
  17. Whipitgood - just saw your other question. Most consider a 1 degree drop in temp suggests whelping will begin within 24 hours. Personally (again just my experiences!) I expect whelping sooner, from what can be a minimal drop in temperature.
  18. All the girls are different and all breeders have different opinions, but I find it an invaluable warning that things are about to happen. With each of my litters, I had pups within 12 hours of a reasonable drop in temperature. It could have been longer as I can't remember how frequently I checked temps. Certainly check a couple of times a day when nearing their due dates. If your girls anything like mine, I'd expect some action over night or in the morning. Then again, she could well make a right liar out of me now! Good luck anyhow...
  19. Now don't be fooled! I'd be more relyant on the drop in temp than her behaviour! I swear sometimes they just try to keep us on our toes. I will be glued to this thread now, awaiting news of lil Whippet babies...
  20. Derharv GSD's..... surely some news by now?
  21. Amy is doing really well now on the meds. She is a great Mum, but not as dedicated as her Mum (Belle) is. Belle literally had to be dragged away from her pups to toilet, or so we could change bedding etc and would cry if she was seperated from them - even for a moment. Amy, on the other hand, thinks she deserves plenty of "me" time, preferring to stay outside soaking up this beautiful sun we've been getting. When she hears the pups wake & cry, she will reluctantly make her way back inside to feed and clean them. She is doing everything she has to do, but nothing more... ....still, I've got a feeling they will need to be weened a little early.
  22. Hey RJ... Where you been??? Sorry... the 3 boys & 3 girls must've been a typo. Didn't even notice it myself - well observed!
  23. Nice pics! tlc - Amy had five. 3 Dogs, 2 Bitches. No 'runt', all strong, healthy pups. Forecast poor weather over the weekend last I heard... ;) Ok, Ok.....
