  1. Glad you had a great day Janet! And here's another pic of my boy. Just coz I can... ;)
  2. Happy Birthday Riley James!!!
  3. Aye, t'be sure a great day will be had, BUT.... 'tis not my birthday! Y'all are 2 months late!!!
  4. While we are celebrating birthdays, allow me to introduce you to Vitasz who turns 10 weeks today
  5. I think it's a load of rubbish! Some nights my dogs eat before the family, while other nights we eat before the dogs. My dogs have to fit in with my lifestyle on any given day... NOT the other way around. AND my dogs normally go through a door before I do because it is easier to just let them all out and then follow! While none of my dogs are obedience champions they are all well mannered, loyal and easy to live with. They respect me regardless of when I feed them!
  6. Aaaah yes! I'd forgotten about this but I remember where it is. Sounds very suitable. If there is training there on Sunday the adjacent area may well do. Cheers everyone!
  7. Jess, RE: council dog permits. I really don't know but I guess they could get pretty tough. It all comes down to your neighbors... if they are happy for you to have your dogs and council receive no complaints, then it seems like council don't care what you do. They will step in and be authoritative if they start getting noise complaints I would imagine. I am VERY lucky here in that I have great neighbors and we get on well with them all. In fact, I found out today that one of our neighbors thought we only had TWO dogs and are apparently more than happy for us to obtain a new permit. I gather anonymous complaints are disregarded by council too. You have to make them aware of who you are and where you live in regards to the property where the dogs are a nuisance. It all seems very fair considering all the crap I'd heard about the council.
  8. tlc - I have never had anything to do with the ailment so anything I said would be uneducated assumptions. You'd be better off doing a Google search on the topic, sorry!
  9. Do what I'm doing..... get as many dogs as you can BEFORE you tie the knot!
  10. When Tully first came to us the lady that owned him said there was a litter born in the area and the age fits so I am pretty sure. Will catch up with Jen, on the weekend. She works at the shelter so she might have more info if anyone is interested. He is lovely and I WOULD be interested, BUT I am picking up vizsla number 5 next week, (Off to the council for the second time this week!!!).
  11. tlc - If those two dogs aren't brothers I'll eat my hat!
  12. Ok Gumnut. Thanks heaps for looking into it for me!
  13. BB i got some registrations back today and was pleased to discover this too! A great idea. Sooooooooo many of my pups are never transferred coz owners don't want to join DogsVic just to make the transfer.
  14. Thanks tlc - I really would like somewhere fenced as I don't know what she's going to be like off-leash. If I can't find anything more suitable, I shall go there.... Gumnut - I don't really mind which side of town it is. The fact it's fenced & safe is more important for this visit. Got somewhere in mind?
  15. I am driving to Geelong on the weekend to meet someone 'half way' to collect a dogand would like to meet at an off-leash park so she can have a good run before continuing her journey with me. Can anyone offer any suggestions please? An address would be great so I can just put it into the Navigator :D - don't get to Geelong very often! Cheers!
  16. I decided to handle it myself in case it got palmed off before it was retreived. Would you believe this idiot left it on their own doorstep? Morons.... Sorry for the non-dog-related topic. Just that this persons Mum reads DOL, although not a poster. Was hoping she'd read it in case she saw my esky!
  17. Well we just got home today to find our big esky has been thieved from our front door step. A real shame that there are such dirty, stinkin' low-life thieves in our lovely town, but ALAS.... ....my elderly neighbour who was sitting on her front step waiting to be picked up for her voluntary work was able to give a very good description of who took it, including the vehicle. So what should I do? Give them a chance to return it or send the Police around and have them charged, just to stick it up 'em? I'm thinking the latter, personally.
  18. My dogs are never naughty But what is an ice-cream sandwich? THAT sounds naughty!!!!
  19. Tenties - Sorry I thought I had more crates than I do. I still need a couple for the pups here but you are welcome to come pick up the other one anytime. Sorry it's only one, but I hope it helps. RJ - Vitasz will be up for a walk as soon as he is fully vaccinated, although I am taking him to the beach on Sunday again as he is going bananas stuck at home! Frogs all doing well (I think!). There are seven all together but I only ever see up to four at a time, so either there are only four alive or I am seeing different frogs each time I don't know. I don't want to disturb them by sifting through the tank counting them.... They are quite noisy once all the lights go out, but we all love hearing them so they don't bother us.
  20. You probably wont see a cent but it is probably the word "bill" that got him moving so quickly! :D
  21. Tez he looks like a really lovely boy! Sounds like you're doing EVERYTHING right so I'm sure your problems will be few and manageable. Good luck with him! Edited to add..... Still no update to your signature???
  22. LOVE IT!!!! Sorry, edited to say I shouldn't laugh, but we've all met people like that! Problem is YOU'VE got one living on your COUCH! Piss 'im off!
