  1. First, we would like to congratulate you on doing such a fine job with the pubs over the years. They truly sound like an amazing breed which would make the perfect companion for anyone worthy. We are writing to you today in search of your professional opinion on adopting a Visla pup. My wife and I live in Perth, W.A and have searched for Visla breeders in our state and have sadly failed to find one. It looks like they are all in the East coast or New Zealand. The questions on our minds are, if there are any implications on adopting a pub from another state where he/she will be so far from its parents at such a young stage of its life? and how will this impact the pub if at all? Will the flight over state be an issue for he/she. Our last dog was a Visla who we cherished and loved very much and who brought much joy to our lives. We would very much love this friendship with such a great companion again, but we would only love to make this dream a reality with pubs best intentions in mind. We would very much appreciate your opinion on the matter. Thanks Kind regards Hmmmm, not sure weather or not to reply to this one. Sound dodgy? or genuine questions?
  2. It has been quiet, hasn't it? Well as those of you on FB already know, we made the very difficult decision to rehome Vitasz. After many 'interviews' with prospective owners, he left us yesterday. Besides the little 'issues' I had with him, with all the time I'm putting into planning for the new business, I just know he'd have missed out on the attention a puppy really needs, so I know it is for the best, and no more puppies here for quite a while now!!! On top of this, Lilly left us this week also, so it feels very quiet at my place at the moment and I really don't like it!
  3. Absolutely! I choke up every time there is a parade of veterans at our specialty. I have seen dogs paraded who I have never 'liked' before, but still clap and cheer for them as just seeing how chuffed they are doing a lap of the ring to great applause is wonderful. They really do feel extra special to not only have been brought to a show (most oldies are left behind where it's warm) but to be groomed and sprayed and have a show lead around their necks...... just like the good old days when they were the 'rising stars' of their kennel.
  4. Agree with Monah As long as you can manage your time with a puppy and young kids it can be done. We breed so always have puppies & dogs around of varying ages as well as 4 kids ranging from 6 years to 6 months, including a toddler. Of course there are going to be some trying times and some nips and some bowl-overs, but it is all worth it in the end. My kids have no idea what life's like without the dogs around the place and as they age they become the best of friends. It is a lot of work though, and you need to be sure you have the patience, time and know-how to safely raise kids and dogs together.
  5. I'd LOVE to get out for a walk on the weekend. I'll be in Melbourne all day Sunday but besides running the kids around to their birthday parties on the Saturday I have no plans. Glad you have completed the move..... hope you can de-stress a little now?
  6. Oh good you got it then. Thanks for the loan, appreciated it. No worries Cav! Hope your lot are all still doing really well. :D
  7. Looks like you all had a great time on Saturday! :p Casey looks lovely, Mawson. How has she settled in? Looking forward to meeting her on a walk. I said goodbye to Lilly yesterday as she left us for her new home. I have received pics already and it seems she will be spoilt rotten.... being allowed inside ALL the time and sleeping on the bed! We miss her already but are glad she's found such a wonderful home.
  8. There are Lagotto being exhibited in Vic, but I couldn't tell you where or when they will be out and about. Best option is to contact some breeders and ask when they will be at a show out your way. ETA - There are 5 breeders in Vic listed here on DOL.
  9. Don't think for a minute that they're not around either! Don't know if they are in Tas but they are sure as hell on the mainland. Really? I can imagine there may be some black panthers around but hard to believe there's Tasi Tigers here with no photographic evidence. Mel. Growing up with a naturalist/ nature related author as a father, I have been witness to some incredible sightings in some very remote places within Australia. People can say what they will, but I know for FACT there are (or were within the last 20 years) Thylacines as well as panthers/cougars in more than one state of Australia.
  10. Don't think for a minute that they're not around either! Don't know if they are in Tas but they are sure as hell on the mainland.

  12. Maybe "Cheap as Chips Roofing" did that job. Yeah I gather the tenants in the Target Complex were VERY pissed!
  13. Shocking weather! I was talking to a real estate agent this afternoon who told me that all the specialty stores in the new Target Centre had to close today as they got flooded!!! Geez, they'd be pissed-off wouldn't they? Brand new shops and all? Hmmmm, tlc I thought about going out to Bunnings today but reckon it would have been like a cross between a wind tunnel and an igloo. Pass! Glad you were well rugged up!
  14. What's going on in Cavalblazes Incubator....
  15. Did you lot end up getting out for a walk together today? :D Ended up a glorious day didn't it? I'm sure someone (read; Barb) will post some pics if you did!
